Kate DiCamillo's The Remarkable Story of Edward Tulane is incredible. If you're bored and looking for a good read, I highly recommend it.

The Arabian Nights Selected and Edited by Daniel Heller-Roazen and Translated by Husain Haddaway. It's for my Arabian Nights class, but unlike most required readings for school, I actually enjoy it.

Unfortunately my statistics textbook is my main reading. At least this is my last semester of my AA. Thank God for that. However, I am also reading the Dresden Files. Since Cold Days, the next book in the series, and a major turn of events, comes out in October, I am rereading the series in preparation. Dresen Files are the greatest series I have ever read.

I remember reading Desperaux when I was a kid. Cute book.

These days I'm reading the French version of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and Masters of Command: Alexander, Hannibal, Caesar, and the genius of Leadership.

Might I recommend The News From Paraguay? A great novel that was based on the true story of a Paraguayan dictator and his Irish courtesan. It's around 200 pages, so it's a short read, too.

just finished reading Post Office by Charles Bukowski - its like an autobiographical novel. I never read biographical type reads but this one is basically a novel before a biography. His humor is rather funny its oddly sexual, cynical and blunt - I laughed on many occasions. Great quick read

Not gonna lie I am a big fan of the 'eerie' or cynical type books - loved 1984 and hunger games.

It was so long ago that I read Catcher in the Rye so I am rereading it now

Also reading a bio on Micheal Jackson, The Curious Incident of the Dead Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon(for my english class, best read aloud ever),And I'm gonna start Reading "The Mark of Athena by Rick Rirodan"(Big fan of the original Percy Jackson series, decided to start reading the new one, not the same... Hated the first book, but I stick to a series when I start).

I've noticed, that in regards to books, sequels do tend to be better than the first one. With each additional Harry Potter book, Rowling somehow got even better. Her writing still amazes me. I'm still in awe by her work.

I've noticed it already in Catching Fire. The more experience an author has with writing, the better they usually get.

Not only does the author's writing improve, but the plot tends to develop further as well. More conflict, more suspense, higher interest, better writing, etc.
