Arabic Studies. Lets just say I was held at gunpoint by a fellow classmate and forced to take all of the same classes as her lol. It wouldn't be so bad if the people could hold their answers to under 10 minutes.

Held ay gunpoint to take Arabic studies. Does anyone else see the humor in that?

No not for Arabic Studies. I chose that on my own. I was held at gunpoint to take Italian Cinema and that Gender class. But I decided to go back and read Elite Warriors: 300 Years of America's Best Fighting Troops by Lance Zedric and Michael Dilley. It was a textbook for a military history class I took back at community college.

I feel your pain. When I was a freshman in college I got suckered into taking a class called "Feminist Utopias". And you're talking about a young dumb kid who actually thought the teacher "cared" about opinions other than her own - it was so bad I had other people in the class ask me, without being prompted, why she hated me so much. I soon after discovered Ratemyprofessors.com and it changed my life.

I am reading Edmund Morris's biographical trilogy of Theodore Roosevelt. Already read The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt and Theodore Rex. Now reading the third, Colonel Roosevelt.

After that, the Library of America's anthology of John Muir's Nature writings.

I decided to tackle the long, boring, conversational, 'Atlas shrugged'. 865 pages done, only 200 more pages to go.

At least it made the movie much more enjoyable to watch.

I love ratemyprofessors.com. Just about everybody is on about the professors. Lately I've been reading Mosby's Rangers by Jeffry D. Wert. Trying to finish it. I love it, but I'm just pre-occupied with school work.

Currently, my reading list includes "The Beast In Me and Other Animals", by James Thurber. I have laughed out loud over one of the stories in this book - very good work by Mr. Thurber.

John Keegan's The First World War.

If you want a great over-all history of the conflict, read it. I read it the first time when I used it as a secondary source for a college paper.

A Dance of Dragons AKA Game of Thrones book 5.

Yes there are characters in book 5 that were killed off in season 2....don't read books, it will make the show leave a bad taste in your mouth.

Just finished Jay-Z's autobiography and now I'm reading Malcolm X's. I bought the latter at some kitsch library for $1 and it's the 1st paperback edition, so maybe I'll recoup my investment too!

The first three at least. I would advise everyone to either not read the fourth and fifth ones or just brace themselves for boredom.

I'm reading Brandon Sanderson's The Way of Kings. It's supposed to be the first of ten books.

I don't know why I continue to torture myself by reading series that aren't yet finished. I'm waiting for GRRM and Rothfuss (The Name of the Wind) to finish their works already and that's on top of having been burned by Dean Koontz.

The Way of Kings is a good book so far though.

I wouldnt say they are boring, but you are right the trajectory of the plot and the character build up changes mightily.

I don't know what I'm going to do until book six comes out.

I'm not a fan of reading about people wandering around looking for something that they never find, but to each their own as they say...

You might be waiting a while. Although if you go to Goodreads, it seems as though you can read about the plot of perhaps the 7th book. >.>

Just checked out another mountain of books from the library. Right now reading Stephen Ambrose's Nothing Like It In The World: The Men Who Built the Transcontinental Railroad 1863-1869.

Not sure where I'll go from there.

Real close to finishing Mosby's Rangers by Jefrry D Wert. I'm at the point where Lincoln was just assassinated. I may go back to listening to the audio version of World War Z after this. Another great book.
