I read on the homepage that a team may give the Ravens a first rounder for Webb. What do you guys think of the chances since teams love first round draft picks? What if any teams can you see doing this?

I dont think Webb will be going anywhere. I hope he is a Raven for life. I wouldnt want a unproven 1st rounder.

If I were Mike Zimmer at the Bengals I'd give up a first rounder for Webb.
A first round player can be a bust, Webb is proven

So Ozzie better be prepared here and I'm sure he will be

There's no doubt in my mind some team with a middle pick that needs a CB would give up a 1st for Webb. I could definitely see Jerry Jones doing it.

We could use 1 franchise tag on either: Ray RIce, Lardarius Webb, Grubbs. If we make a long term deal with Rice. Then we have the option to either tag webb or grubbs.

Cheatriots/Bungals seems to be willing to give up a 1st round tender immediately from their fans perspective (especially patriots b/c they have two late 1st rounder).

Our FO has to move fast. We have alot of key players to lock up long term. Lets get it done.

Webb is Ed Reed's project and the mentoring and tough-love he's given Webb has turned him into a Mini-Ed Reed.

I actually think Webb, and not JSmith like Ozzie said, is going to "replace" Ed's impact in secondary. We should indeed make him a Raven for life. The dude is legit!

When was the last time that a team was willing to sign a RFA to an offer sheet and give up a 1st round pick?

It hasn't happened in years.

Teams are OK with using a draft pick (which are now cheaper than ever) to address a position of need and teams are OK with signing a FA to address that need, but most teams aren't interested in doing both.

Plus, there are a lot of FA CBs that will likely be on the market.

Of course, there's always the exception and it's always possible that Webb will be the one, but I doubt it.

Most teams also don't want to spend their time negotiating a contract, just to have the other team match it.

Hopefully Webb will be here for a long time, anyone know how much his tender would be if we tender him a 1st Round Pick? Also when Reed retires, you think he would be able to move to FS?

No way. After this year, he's worth more than that. He's on the "must do" list for Ozzie, guaranteed.

looks like us fans agree to keep him a raven for life, and so does he. I wouldent trade him for any picks unless its an extra first rounder forever and 2 billion dollars.

I hope he stays here forever! But I feel a team would give a first for him, almost no doubt.
I can see pats, bengals or browns or maybe even packers give that up for him

If he stays that would be awesome, but if we got a first rounder that would be awesome too. I'd prefer for him to stay. He is a playmaker and we will need playmakers when Reed and Ray Ray leave. But look at how good of a job the FO does on draft day. They take a safety out of Nickel State (correct me if I'm wrong), in the third round, make him a cb, and we would get a 1st rounder as compensation. Just brilliant. Oz for life

That tender doesn't exist anymore under the new CBA.

You use a first round pick to get a young guy with potential. Webb is a young guy who has shown his greatness, if I were the Patriots (a team needing a corner) I would take the gifted vet who hasn't even reached his prime yet.

I'm not too worried. I don't think Webb is going anywhere. If a team is crazy enough to give a 1st round pick, they still need to beat our price, which I believe we will do what we need to do to keep Webb. I also think it will be easier to get Webb done than Rice & Flacco.

Webb will be a Raven next year and the year after.
Ozzie, please sign Marcus McNeil (LT). It's all I want for off-season. Thanks.

and hopefully for life!

I don't see it being too crazy that a team would give up a first especially when New England, Cleveland and Cincinatti all have 2 first round picks...
