Why would we even entertain this idea? Yeah, let's get an old receiver. Who are we going to cut? Boldin, Smith, Reed, Doss, Williams, Evans? Reed & Evans could be gone, but I don't think we will replace them with a washed-up Indoor Football League receiver who we didn't sign last year when we lost Boldin. This idea is absurd.

No offense to the OP. I am more surprised Owens even believes this is possible. He must be psychotic & a schizophrenic. He does have delusions of grandeur, after all.

In all seriousness, the man clearly has mental issues up the wazoo. Remember the suicide attempt?

EDIT: Not trying to be funny. It is truly a sad thing. I think he could have been remembered for his play instead of all the extracurricular stuff if he had gotten the proper treatment.

Even with a year out of football, he's always been in shape and he'll get signed somewhere.

Don't know where but somewhere, off the top of my head the Jags maybe. They have a poor WR corp and hell, TO can still sell some tickets.

Now if this was eight years ago I'd be drooling over TO but not now
No thanks, we've spent the last few years bringing in vets like Housh and Stallworth and where did it get us?

Our young corp need time to develop, Torrey has made a start and Tandon Doss will get time this year

I cant believe T.O. even has guts to tell Ravens he wouldve made the difference if he was around in our jersey.

I remember him vehimently refusing to goto Baltimore Ravens in 2004.

Have a good day playing in IFL ! Your career sure looks bright after going to Eagles T.O.!

Really V jax? Everybody on this board jocks homie so hard, out of him and T.O. I take T.O., because I know he is coming with his A game and he plays hard. Dont say " what if" I dont deal in what ifs. The past is the past and let it stay there!
You need help lol, as you said, leave the past in the past, TO may have been the greater reciever but Vjax is FAR superior now.

If the price is right I'd do it. T.O. doesn't command the money he used to. He played pretty well that one year in Cincy and I think he has alot to prove.

we can get TO for cheap
and he wasn't a problem in buffalo or with the Bengals
so i don't see an issue

you know he wants a ring
and he's made crucial catches in crunch time
I guess perhaps you don't see a lot of Bengals games. Must have missed him shouting at Palmer as they left the field and Palmer hanging his head and walking away. Dude is a cancer, we don't need him.

You know who else would of helped us?

Derrick Mason and wouldn't you know it he already had rapport with our QB. When Boldin was injured, we should of signed him for depth. That COULD of been the difference between a superbowl or not. Mason was very reliable and would of taken a league minimum for a ring...

Yeah I kept posting about this when Boldin went down for a few weeks. Still think it would have been a good idea. Oh well.

Stop whining about Derrick Mason, there is no guarantee he would have helped the Ravens since he disappeared last year in the playoffs and lets not forget his dropped TD pass at Pittsburgh in 2009. Mason had a strong run with the Ravens and good career but the Ravens made the right choice in moving on from him, it was time, so get over it.

Ok I'm sorry for saying you were whining I just don't like harping on what could have been but then again you are entilted to your opinion and I stepped out of bounds a bit. Far as Vincent Jackson yes I would like him to come here since he is one of my favorite WRs and he has a connection to Cam but the price has to be right. If we don't sign him then it's cool, I would be cool with whatever the Ravens do at WR as long as T.O. isn't involved.

I know that a lot of people look at the rumored suicide attempt and are quick to write TO off, but I could care less what he tried to do or what the media says he tried to attempt. We have no idea what goes on in his personal life/head, so I just can't judge a person based off of rumors. It's the stuff that he does do on the field and in the locker room that makes me dislike him. Just shutup and play football.

I didn't mean to lecture you lol, just wanted to give my opinion on the attempted suicide rumor.

The fact that not one team showed up at his workout or offered him any sort of deal, when some teams were crippled at the WR spot, shows you either HOW horrendous he is to a locker room, or the fact that the man is just at a point where he's not good enough to crack it in the league.

The St. Louis Rams and the Deadskins needed WRs at that point like a hypoxic mountain climber needs oxygen on the summit of Everest. Still no takers. Not even Dan Snyder.

I won't deny that like nine years ago, he was a beast, all his problems aside. However, it wasn't his intelligence on route running or his sticky hands. It was his explosiveness and physicality. Those things are gone now. He's basically without an upside.
Last season stat line for him should speak for itself. Almost 1000 yards on the Bengals. I think hes still good. Whats the difference of ability between him and Ray Lewis? Ray will be 37 and plays every single snap. Im just saying, if TO put up just under 1000yds, he has something in the tank!. Another thing, as our WRs got jammed at the line this past season against Seattle and Jacksonville. I DARE someone to try to jam TO. Hes incredibly strong and shrugs off DBs.

I just wish people on here would stop acting like he is nothing and oh we are this big girly respectable franchise that would never take a "locker room cancer"

Lastly, for poops and giggles, Vincent Jackson put up 1106yds this season. Just over 120yds more than Owens last season. He also started all 16 games in SD as Owens started 14 in CIN. Owens could have easily earned 60 yards in both of those games

Okay, I will bite. Say we get TO. Who do we cut? Boldin, Smith, & probably Doss are guaranteed jobs (Doss only because we JUST drafted him). Evans (overpaid), Williams (special team player, no big play on offense but impressed coaches), & David Reed (he fumbled his way out of Baltimore) are probably the only ones who would be on their way out. I like Williams and I want him to stay. I also like Lee Evans, I just dislike his salary. David Reed, well, I don't have anything nice to say about him at this juncture.

If we cut Reed, then we could sign TO, but then my question is who returns kicks because I really didn't like what I saw from LaQuan, and I sure don't want Webb doing it. We get a special teams cornerback, OK. But we already have a lot of talent there. Anthony Allen can't do it, nor can Ray Rice. As far as I know, neither can Damien Berry. I don't want 4 running backs on this team, either.

Wide receivers make some of the best KR/PR. I'd rather we draft someone like Maze from Alabama and use him on PR/KR than sign TO who may never see the field. We only get to keep 53 men on the roster. We can't have 7 wide receivers.

So a guy who has lead in drops says he can help a team that suffers crucial drops lol.

T.O is desperate to play but he has burned bridges

Here's what TO said:
“I know I can play. That’s not even a question that I can play. You look at the NFC Championship and the AFC Championship. You look at those games, especially the NFC championship. Their starting receiving corps had one catch for three yards,” Owens told The Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “You look at the AFC championship. The Baltimore Ravens the past two years brought in two guys they thought could get the job done. It comes down to crucial catches and they didn’t make those catches. So I am definitely aware of my talents.

Personally, I don't think we need him and I've seen him drop passes. Also, remember when he snubbed us years back when we wanted to sign him? He says he's in great shape and with the rocky road he's been on lately then maybe he won't act like a jack@$$. I just don't trust him.

With Ozzie saying we're looking to add a WR, do you think TO would be an upgrade to our WRs?
This guy is a physical specimen, even at his age. It depends on how much speed he's lost. If he is anywhere near his strength or speed of two years ago I'd be all for him. I think bringing him in opposite Torrey, put Q in the slot, beautiful

Laquan Williams could of had that catch so it's not saying much...

He got stripped. Get over it. Don't act like T.O. didn't drop 25 balls when he was in his last year with the Cowboys.
