There's a point in that, I'm sure TO has other financial obligations rather than his children, too.

Yes I overstand that, as well

So to ask you a question, what does the bolded has to do with T.O. playing for us? What does his personal life have to do with playing in Baltimore? Really, I seen fans get mad for throwing tantrums cuz they talk about Ray Lewis. But everybody else is fair game, SMH!
Just pointing out a reason why he really needs the money. I'm not saying that out of jest. This team isn't a charity and he doesn't play or act like a Raven.

I wake up every morning breathing a sigh of relief that at least we don't have the Team Obliterator destroying our locker room, like he has the last thousand teams that he's been on.

Probably the only thing Skip Bayless ever got right in his career.

Look I just want to have the pieces to put us in the Big Game, as sure every ravens fan wants. But if we can over come the comments that ed reed said which the media twisted in to a storm. We over came that and almost made the super bowl on one catch that was stripped. We can over come any oplayer that comes into the locker room. I believe that no one player can be a distraction in the ravens locker room.

I semi-proved many of these points wrong in a recent post in the Cam thread. And when Evans did come back, Boldin went to the slot more often. Leach getting split wide loosens up the defense and pulls a LB out of the box, as well as mixing up coverages.
Leach playing as a WR to me is rediculous. And when Evans came back he was hardly on the field. I know that with the talent we have at recievers that it is not all their fault they couldnt get seperation. Instead of always sending Torrey on fly routes give him some slant patterns, or screens like he did vs NE. Try some playaction, let Joe have a empty backfield and do what he does in the shotgun. Not just on third and long. Cam is way to predictable with his playcalling so its not real hard for defenses to know what we're doing. Luckily our running game was great, thanks to Rice,Leach and Oline. There was no creativity there either. Plus I dont he think trusts Joe for whatever reason... I cant believe you are defending Cam lol.
Sorry im a little off topic.

Yes, Pitta and/or Dickson were lined up outside a lot all season long. They were even used in bunch formations! Q did see a lot of snaps in the slot, and while I think its kind of silly to flex out Leach, the reason you do that is to make favorable match-ups.

Oh, we don't need TO either. He's old and he's a cancer.

To be fair, Torrey did get opportunties on shorter routes throughout the season. It didn't happen enough, but there were good a number of times he caught short passes and turned them up-field. And Cam called play-action often from what I remember. Not that the results were always bad, but as the pick to Spikes in the AFC title game showed, Joe has to improve at selling it.

Up until the Seattle game, Joe was on pace to have the sixth-most passing attempts in league history. The creativity of those passing plays is another story, but Cam definitely trusts Joe.

Plus he has to live at Ray Rays house so he would get proper supervision.
Also cant have internet access, or working out in public. :D

i'd give TO a shot to see how much he's got left in the tank. Holding a grudge like a 14 year old girl is a crappy way to do business, especially when that grudge is against one of the most prolific receivers in the past decade. Give him a tryout to compete for the #3 slot, pay him the veteran minimum if he's good enough.

I can blame everything on Cam lol. And our recievers may have not appeared that good last year maybe because we never used the middle of the field. Or play Q in the slot. And sometimes line Leach up as a 4th WR! I mean atleast put Doss or Reed out on the field, I think I can remember only once seeing Doss pay. And I doubt he sucked that bad that he wasnt good enough to go on field, I mean the king of Oz drafted him! Plus why wouldnt he just line Pitta/Dickson as WR. There is no creativity in our offense and lack of chemistry.
actually Cam did use Boldin in the slot and the ravens did used four wideouts set which consist of Boldin, Smith, Pitta and Dickson. Im not sure why the ravens didn't use Reed, Williams or Doss often but I guess they just wasnt ready to see consistent playing time

True with Joe needing to sell it a bit better, but when we had our running game going we seemed to play very conservative and give the other team a chance to catch up. Like after the first half all we did was run, run, pass, run, run, pass. I guess he doesnt trust him with the game on the line. And letting Joe throw like 40-50 times earlier this year was maybe because the run game wasnt working because the defense knew what was going to happen. I know we were down vs Arizona and there was a reason throwing 50 times. But I dont think he should have abandoned the run so early during that strech. Also our recieving core was very young and Boldin still was creating chemistry with him. I just want Joe to throw from the shotgun like its in a 2 minute drill sometimes. And let rice get some draws/sweeps. And use the middle of the field more . I just want us to be the best lol

Really I need help cuz I dont follow the V jax bandwagon? Im not a follower so sorry to disappoint! I have a mind of my own. Pls feel free to neg too. SMH!

I don't want vjax either, but TO is done. At this point he'd be 5th on our depth chart even if we cut lee evans. Maybe he'll be a camp body. But it's not gonna happen.

The fact that not one team showed up at his workout or offered him any sort of deal, when some teams were crippled at the WR spot, shows you either HOW horrendous he is to a locker room, or the fact that the man is just at a point where he's not good enough to crack it in the league.

The St. Louis Rams and the Deadskins needed WRs at that point like a hypoxic mountain climber needs oxygen on the summit of Everest. Still no takers. Not even Dan Snyder.

I won't deny that like nine years ago, he was a beast, all his problems aside. However, it wasn't his intelligence on route running or his sticky hands. It was his explosiveness and physicality. Those things are gone now. He's basically without an upside.

I can't deny Cam's play-calling was conservative at times. But there were some games where simple execution would have gone a long way to the offense putting up more points. The second Browns and Colts games are the best examples.

He trusts Joe with the game on line. This year more than any proved that.

The running game was working against the likes of the Rams and Seahawks, but he continued to call passing plays. Even when the running game was stuttering against the Titans and Jaguars, the run/pass ratio was unnecessarily lopsided.

Q was here last year. Even with the abbreviated off-season, it's not like he and Joe needed a long time to get used to one another. Joe was simply lobbing the ball in Q's general direction at times against the Cardinals, so it's not like chemistry was a major issue.

As The Raven showed in another thread, Cam attacked the middle of the field more than people give him credit for. His play-calling was no doubt an issue though.
TO is out of a job and going broke. He has four children from four different women and his money is diminishing. He's in kiss [profanity deleted] mode at the moment, and he burned us a few years ago. He can learn from his mistakes, just not in Baltimore.
I agree. Sorry but it was reported that we had a deal with him and then he screwed us over. I don't want him, he will probably have another warrant for his arrest put out anyway, like the outstanding one a few months ago. We don't need that drama here. He can dream about being a Raven, but he will never be a 'true' Raven.

we can get TO for cheap
and he wasn't a problem in buffalo or with the Bengals
so i don't see an issue

you know he wants a ring
and he's made crucial catches in crunch time

Why would we even entertain this idea? Yeah, let's get an old receiver. Who are we going to cut? Boldin, Smith, Reed, Doss, Williams, Evans? Reed & Evans could be gone, but I don't think we will replace them with a washed-up Indoor Football League receiver who we didn't sign last year when we lost Boldin. This idea is absurd.

No offense to the OP. I am more surprised Owens even believes this is possible. He must be psychotic & a schizophrenic. He does have delusions of grandeur, after all.

A yr out of football doesn't help a 38 yr old WR, I've only seen Jerry Rice contribute at that position at that age at a high level.....

“You look at the AFC championship. The Baltimore Ravens the past two years brought in two guys they thought could get the job done. It comes down to crucial catches and they didn’t make those catches."

T.O. spoke truth right here! but...we don't need him! besides....didn't he "dis" us at one time?
