You would be too if you did something for 20+ years.

Lol I wouldnt be like that from doing something for 20+ years unless I spent those years doing drugs and drinking like them. A job in, say, accounting would not yeild even similar results.

lol you knew what I meant.

Yeah, and the worst part is all of our good bands were druggers, so theyve destroyed their bodies and will die younger. God alone knows how Mick Jagger is still alive. And the dude couldnt sing in his prime, let alone now.

uh no. Iron Maiden is good and they don't do drugs. They actually support some anti drug program, dont remember what it's called. There is many videos on youtube of Bruce calling out people in the crowd smoking pot. They kick them out.

Lol I wasnt targetting Maiden. I meant most of our genre. Intersestingly, CCR was also very anti-drug. The song Lookin' out my back door, which is commonly believed to be about tripping, is about a Dr. Seuss book.

Duh. My point was just that there are few occupations rougher on the body that Rocker. The accountants whp drink and do drugs arent spending all of their time wasted and drunk. If they were they wouldnt be accountants, they would be homeless.

Ever see "The Decline of Western Civilization: The Metal Years"?

It has interviews with a lot metal / rock performers. Lemme from Motorhead and Alice Cooper both said that being in the music industry basically made them alcoholics. They both mention that just about any drug you can imagine is available after their shows, and of course there's always booze around.

Ugh im arguing with this dude. He says Rap is the only thing that is music and that heavy metal, jazz, and blues etc require no talent. I guess to him making beats is incredibly hard to do. I asked him if he plays guitar, he said no, I said why, he answers because it's hard. He is just dumb. I logically beat his arguments. Im thinking of making a debate thread again of what is music. This stuff makes me so angry.

No doubt dude. Spit out a moronic beat from a $100 casio and rhyme to it. It requires absolutely no musical talent whatsoever.

I'm not a fan of Jazz, but those folks are extremely talented.

You're right, he's an idiot.

If you don't like this song then get out. This song is so influential and its all acoustic.

I love this song, I can listen to it all day.

You gotta love it.

No i havent seen it but ill look it up. Indeed, the industry is filled with the stuff, and people have a hard time avoiding it.

I'm on a Sludge Metal kick and have renewed my love for one of my favorite bands, Corrosion of Conformity (also of super band Down fame). If you have never listened to them, I shun you. Pepper Keenan is one of my favorite singers in metal, simple but effective.

Here's your introduction to CoC. Find. Listen. Rock Out:

Drowning in a Daydream

Albatross

The Snake Has No Head

Stonebreaker

Clean My Wounds

Who's Got The Fire

Take What You Want

Checked out Albatross on youtube. I definitely remember that song. Must have seen it back when MTV actually used to play music videos. It has a major Sabbath feel to it, so I certainly like it. Also watched Clean My Wounds, I remember that one too. It's a shame that they didn't hit their stride 'til the middle 90's after grunge had taken over. These guys should have had more success than they did, just a few years too late.

Speaking of grunge, anybody on here like Pearl Jam?

I thought their first CD was awesome, haven't liked much of anything since then.

"10", I believe it's called. I got their second CD, "Versus". Listened to about 3 times, it's been collecting dust ever since.

Ten was a great album. Try Backspacer, its their best album in my opinion. Particularly the Song High Amongst the Waves

Holy Crap thats weird. I wouldnt have thought anyone would listen to it. It would get really repetitive.
