He's another pounder much like Ricky. I don't know if he can be as good as Ricky, but he's much younger and has a very similar skillset. He ran over defenders in PS.

the kid also has wicked stiff arm I still remember him laying out one of the chiefs with one

I remember that! That was great! I think Allen could be basically Ricky 2.0. I don't know how good he can be, but he's the same type of back.

I don't think going for Tomlinson at the right price would be a bad idea, great leader, knows the game pretty well and is hungry of a sb ring even though he's not what he used to be !

Plus, he could be another mentor to Rice and all our other backs !

wow ok i understand. now its time for ray lewis to do the same thing

You disgust me.

This is bittersweet for me. I liked Ricky a lot. I felt like he ran better than Rice at times. With that said, I am happy because this gives Allen & Berry a chance to show us what they can do.

It also saves us some money since we won't have to pay that salary.

Thank you Ricky for your time here in Baltimore & for what you have done for us this year. I believe Ricky helped Rice in some way.

As for free agents, I'm not high on this idea. I want Allen & Berry to have a chance now.

imo...Rice doesn't need another "mentor" or.....old running back to show him the way! Rice is a beast and now Anthony Allen should get his shot at spelling Rice.

Since Ricky Williams retired we should sign Laurence Maroney!!!!!!!!!!!
[/quote]

There's a reason he didn't even play for anyone last year...

We'll be in good shape with Allen and Berry. If we can pick-up another back for a song, so be it. Otherwise, it's AA's time to shine.

The problem here is that if we go with what we have in Anthony Allen then we have to get ready to go through growing pains with the fumbling and bone head plays. Terrible news for the day.

I looked through this thread and listened to the radio. I'm surprised so many people want a veteran to back-up Rice. I'd much rather try Allen & Berry or an UDFA than go spend more money on a veteran back. I mean, why did we spend a draft pick on Allen if he is just going to take up space on the 53? Let the man play.

I also really like Berry's running style. Reminds me of Sproles.

Ricky Williams had some fumbles early in the season. Nobody is perfect unless you go with The Electric Company (BjGE)

I think the idea of another experienced HB is to give Rice a break and to attack with two different styles I running. Which Ricky gave us.

I understand, but Allen won't get experience warming a bench. He needs those reps during the game. Same for Berry. I say we give them a shot. We have a veteran in Ray Rice. Maybe we can get Dickson to run the ball like Hernandez lol.

I am really disapointed. I thought Ricky still had a lot in the tank and he was a good fit for the team.

But I am excited we might see more Anthony Allen now.

I will tell you one thing. Ray Rice just got a lot more leverage. Agent to Ravens "more carries=more money"

but seriously man RW was my fav back on NFL 2k2 and Madden back in the day. First draft pick in fantasy draft too. Great career and a great human being outside of football. Have friends in the area that said Ricky did alot of things for the community

I don't see it as a big deal. Like I've said before, Running backs are a dime a dozen. I am so ready to see what Anothony and Damien can do for us.

You're "Ray Lewis Must Go" post not getting enough negs for you?

Seriously, that should be a banable offense.

Exactly, we don't need to waste any cap space signing a backup RB when we have RB's on the roster that can fill that role. AA would be a great change of pace RB to go with Rice.

Well I'm certainly sorry to see Williams go, and I wish him the best. Now, do we add another RB FA or maybe pick one up late in the draft to learn from Ray Rice?
