Until someone comes up with a "hard" definition of an "Elite" QB and can get widespread agreement with that definition, the term "Elite Quarterback" has no meaning. I agree with Joe that he is a "pretty darn good quarterback" but not great. Although I would not consider Eli "great" either (too inconsistent), I believe he is a better overall QB than Joe. Eli makes some throws, with touch, that Joe has not proven he can make consistently (namely 3, 5 and 6 routes. Joe is also pretty inconsistent on 9 routes to his offensive right side (despite the one to Torrey Smith that was under-thrown but caught. Joe has the talent to be great and I believe part of the problem is the offensive scheme. There aren' t big issues but little ones that tend to make games closer than they should be. When a team plays cover 2 with man coverage under, Joe holds the ball and has to run for his life. The offense still has protection issues and I'm not just talking about line blocking. All in all, I would say Joe is in the top 10 QB's but barely. In my estimation, both Mannings, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Mathew Stafford, Jay Cutler, Drew Brees and Tony Romo are better and Big Ben is his equal despite the guys on the NFL Network putting Big Ben ahead of Flacco. I do expect Joe to get better this year if Cam lets him play his game.

Well Joe, Eli has 2 now.
Stats don't mean nothing. Rings do.

When you say Eli has 2 rings you don't take into consideration that he has played more seasons. I believe Eli was 0-2 at this point in Flacco's career.
I guess some people went to Old Mis and are smarter. Flacco went to Delaware. Anyone who questions the academic comparisons between the two must be an idiot.

Ken_i: I agree with most of what you said except the part where Jay Cutler and Tony Romo are better than Joe. Especially Romo.

I think one of the last contribtors had an informative idea to put across. He talked about rt 3, and rt6, and so on. I think that is pretty technical when the Ravens are far from a technical team. I think Ray Rice is a great runner but he does it by himself. He brakes runs at the beginning of the game and thats it. Its not his fault because when he runs he reads the wholes as he goes. The Offensive line is the worst in the league. If your at the goal line they give no push at all. People complain about flacco and I know he wants to win more than anyone. I think he has the strongest arm in the league and I think it is a shame but if I was him I would get out of town. The coaches don't seem to want to change and the fans are embarassing.

Joe is a good young QB and we are lucky to have him on our team. Its not like hes had the best offensive weapons sense he's been here. What Derrick Mason? Heap at the end of his careers? Housh? lol Torrey Smith is going to be a great wr and Boldin can still get it done. We have some good TE Pitta seems to be making plays when it counts and has good hands. Dang to bad the Pats had moved up in the draft and got Gronk ahead of us that yr, wonder what diff that could have been. Anyways we need to add another weapon to run with Boldin and Smith. Wish we had more draft picks. We need to upgrade our O-Line, MLB, and D-Line. Our O-Line is getting old and I'm not sold on Ellerbe or McClain. Ayanbedejo did better when he got playing time and hes deff not the future. Just saying. JJ might be cut. I think we pay him too much when we got a guy like Kruger who is now ready to step up. I think this will be his yr he takes over. McPhee is gonna be great. Kindle Im not sold on we might just move on without him. You can never have enough passrushers so drafting a guy opposite Suggs wouldn't be bad either if there. We have all the pieces its just hard to say now where to improve on first. Just make sure we cut Foxworth, Carr, J.J, etc. Because Webb should have made the PB this yr he played just as good as any cb in the afc and nfl this yr for that matter, he needs to be re-signed. Rice is our guy and Joe is worth re-signing along with Grubbs who is one of the best at his position. forget using the FT on guys we need to sign these guys for the long term and free up cap for possible FAs. Can't wait to see what happens but this yr we need to be more agressive because weve let teams trade up ahead of us and get some great players.

If youre saying Stafford,Schuab are better; one word answer Johnson and both are injured frequently Romo Dez Bryant Witten T.O. Austin and injured often. Vick and Newton run and get a lot of yards but dont finish off games and Vick Injured often. Cutler NFC champ game knee? a million INT's bad attitude. Matt Ryan Roddy White ,Tony G Julio Jones so outside of the Fab Five if you give Flacco half what the other QB's have to work with and factor in durability, age ,arm strength and he may have biggest upside in NFl @QB I would put him at 6 right now with adjustments for poor supporting cast play calling etc

Yeah Cam, it's almost the same . . . Posted Image
Ravensrooter, you are wrong! Eli, in his forth year, WON a Superbowl. In the Playoffs that year, he beat heavily the favored Dallas Cowboys who were the Number 1 NFC seed. He went on to beat the Green Bay Packers in over-time, and then the UNDEFEATED New England Patriots! Trailing 14-10 with 2:42 remaining, Manning led the Giants 83 yards on a game-winning touchdown drive to win the Superbowl and was named MVP!
