Can someone please explain to me why Im NOT hearing about the Ravens being in the hunt for Pittsburgs WR Mike Wallace? Sheesh, whats wrong with this front office? Do I really have to move to Baltimore and run this team for it to get a superbowl, cuz I will. I know Im not the only one that can smell blood out there in Squealer town, and with their lack of cap space and all, we could really hurt them bad if we were the ones to snatch Mike. Besides him being yet a great weapon for Joe to have, why do we not apply pressure when the foot is on the juggular? All Im hearing about is how "other" teams are the ones in the hunt........and to be quite honest, its pissin me off. I mean, seriously, where is the thinking behind NOT being in the hunt for this obvious weapon? Its things like this that make me question if I really want to be a Raven fan. Idiotic things like NOT getting our qb some weapons bother me. Draft of FA, dont matter to me as long as we get him some lineman that can give the guy more than a few seconds to scan the field and also some weapons to throw to. Holysmokes, make a move and pull the damn trigger already.......!

He talked alot of smack toward us last year like a clown. I don't think he has any intention of joining the Ravens.

I dunno about that. He caught 70 balls in 2011 from guys not named Peyton Manning. They must've targeted him a lot to still have that many catches, given those "inconsistent hands"...

He has a reputation of making spectacular grabs and then dropping gimmie throws. No thanks.

Can any of you tell me how we can afford any of these receivers you want us to get? You do realize our cap space and the fact we have 4 big contracts we will struggle to dish out( grubbs, webb, rice and Flacco) and our offensive line right now consists of Bryant McKinnie, yanda and Oher under contract. Both tackles are average, one is getting old and one will be a free agent next year.

Rotoworld reported the other day that he had already turned down an offer from the Colts and that he wanted a $40m contract. Still want him?

According to rotoworld: That is from the 10th, the article since haven't said anything like that.

(Free agent Reggie Wayne confirmed Friday that he's had no contact with the Colts since the season ended)

You are confusing Wayne with Garcon who turned down a $35 million dollar deal over 5 years. He is looking for 7 mill/year.

Oh, I thought we were talking about Garcon for some reason
That's what I get for not reading the thread fully.

Houshmandzadeh. Evans. These older receivers aren't cutting it for us. We need to get younger in the draft, or sign a FA that's still relatively young. Over-the-hill guys don't work in Cam's system.

true u r not lyin there. stephen hill is the receiver I want us to draft if he is there at #29

Fortunately, Ozzie is smarter than that.

I dont think Ozzie will draft Stephen Hill in the first. He is an extremely raw prospect with a lot of upside. Not a first round pick.

I think Ozzie and the scouts know they can draft a WR who can produce right away if they can play at this level because we know we got a QB who can get the ball to them, they need to catch it

I know I'm gonna get bashed for this but Randy Moss just worked out for the Saints. Everyone said he looks great. He can still run a sub 4.4 forty (that was recorded this week) He flat out balls when he thinks a team has a chance to make it to the SB. We could get him for pennies. He only issue has been he hasn't been motivated at times. He has motivation to come back and play this year.

1. He wants to be in the Hall of Fame
2. He doesn't have a Ring
3. Wants to change the way people look at him so he can make the Hall of Fame.
4.The Ravens are going to the SB
5.We both want to destroy the Patriots

I'm just saying the risks (he doesn't way to play and we cut him) way out way the rewards (a receiver that no one can cover opens up our offense) and we get him for pennies!!!!!!

I am sure of 2 things. We will pick a good receiver in the draft. We will pick up a low-cost receiver in FA. How Doss and Williams develop are the intangibles. Hopefully, one of them can live up to the expectations. We definitely need a linebacker, center, and safety, too. The draft is one way of filling a long-term need. FA is where you pick up guys like Pollard, Leach, and Gorrer to fill the gaps.

Moss is a viable option and I think it makes sense to sign him if the price is right.

I really wouldn't mind picking him up for a 1 season rental. I think he can be a good teammate for one season, and he fits exactly what Cam wants to do here anyway. He's an outside receiver that HATES going over the middle. Cam runs an offense predicated around forcing his receivers to run outside routes, even to their detriment at times. Sounds like a match made in heaven to me.

as of right now my thinking is either the ravens will re sign Evans back to a lesser contract, or at least take a look at randy moss after randy stated that he wants to "work for his money" the cost for him he is saying himself will be low ( at least thats my take) or get one of the names already on the roster more of a bigger role

I'm not a fan of Brandon Lloyd ability wise, but he has turned it on the past two seasons and has been quite productive. On ESPN today, he called Flacco a top 5 QB and we seem to be on his list. He's a little old and drops too many balls, and I would rather have Randy Moss, but he's someone to look at. Still think New England is more likely for him, especially since he says it's more about playing on a good team than money.

I think he follows McDaniels to New England. They need a deep threat at WR, and he is a proven deep threat. Plus, Brady/system makes Deion Branch look like a number 1 receiver. If Lloyd could reach almost 1500 yards with Kyle Orton and Tim Tebow, I can only imagine what he'd do in New England.

regarding our cap situation i really hope we don´t bring in another washed up player like housh or evans that would have little to none impact on our team but hurt us bad financially. i am good with our wr situation right now. we don´t use more than 2 of them anyway so why would you bring in somebody to ride the bench?

as long as boldin or smith don´t get hurt we are all good.

Well Moss just signed a one year deal with the 49ers.

There goes my dreams. Now we can focus on the WRs in the draft.

If Garcon turned down a $35 million dollar contract, it's safe to say he's off the table as well. With Moss gone, I'm at a bit of a loss trying to determine what FA is worth pursuing. Here's hoping Tandon gets used/is developed over the off-season or Floyd falls.

I like Smith, Boldin, Doss, & Williams. I'd like to keep those four. I'd let Reed go. That would leave two openings on our team for WR. We would also need a KR/PR. I don't think we need a vet WR with Boldin & Smith. I think those two will be good enough for us. I'd rather develop some young guys. In the 1st round I only like Floyd & Wright. I wouldn't take another WR in the 1st. I think Wright would be an EXCELLENT WR for us. Wright & Smith would force defenses to play is deep & would make them pay if they don't. It would also push Boldin to his true position. Doss wouldn't be replaced because Wright isn't competing with Doss. It would be an ideal situation.

I would also love Greg Childs, Michael Floyd, Brian Quick, & Marvin McNutt as big wide receiver threats. We don't really have a red-zone target for Flacco, so it would be nice to have that.

I'd love a draft with Wright & Childs. Probably never happen, but it would be a dream. I would then just draft someone like Rainey (a do-it-all back that is a RB/WR/KR/PR) and implement him into the offense.

If we're talking free agents, I'm just not high on too many guys. I'd rather spend a pick on one than go free agency. I feel like we've been burned a lot by these FA WR vets.

I don't understand the current infatuation with Wright on the boards. The dude is tiny at 5'10" 190 lbs, and that does not belong in the AFC North. We know Cam's system is supposed to go smoother with bigger receivers yet we're talking about a guy who's at least four inches (and 15 pounds) from being in the right mold for the offense. And that's discounting the fact that he played in a weak division defensively with the second best QB last year.
