Excellent. Now all we need is for Ginn to go (Cam's favorite) and we will be set to draft a WR.

I am afraid of Ginn. If we get him, you know Cam will use him. He loves the guy.

Not just that - you know he'll look at him and say "At 5'11", what's the last thing anybody would expect him to do - run go routes and post routes. So I'm going to have him run nothing but corners and post routes, mwahaha!"

Lol! Nice one.

Frankly, I'm surprised Cam even drafted him due to his size. I heard he likes them big.

The truth is, I just don't see the point in signing some expensive (FA WRs have been VERY expensive lately) veteran WR when we could draft a pretty good WR in this draft. I mean, I'd sooner draft a big WR (Floyd, Criner, Quick, McNutt, & my man Greg Childs), & a small WR who can go in the slot & also be a PR/KR (Broyles, Hilton, Maze). I mean, hypothetically speaking, if we have a lineup of Smith, Boldin, Childs (I'm choosing him because I think we miss out on Floyd & don't draft a WR until the 3rd), Doss, LaQuan, & Maze (I hate David Reed), I don't see Maze doing much besides special teams, which is fine because Cam won't use him on offense (he rarely uses 3-WRs let alone 4-WR sets).

this would probly never happen but the ravens should trade for a 3rd or 4th pick in this years draft and try to get justin blackmon he reminds me of jerry rice he's not that fast but has incredible hands and someone like him would be a good help to flacco

I don't see us signing any WR in FA this year. We'll go after one in the draft in the first or second round. Sit tight and hope Doss becomes the receiver that Flacco hoped he would be.

Not interested in either receiver. Stay the course and look forward to the draft.

What would we trade for that pick?

Problem is it would cost waay too much, probably as much as the Redskins gave up to move from 6 to 2. Using the system that GMs use to calculate trade value, our pick at 29 has a value of 640 points, number 4 overall has a value of 1800 points. Our second rounder is about 300 points. When they assess the value of future picks, teams usually assume you'll finish future seasons with the same pick you had this season. So you're looking at a situation of trading at minimum 3 first round picks, or two firsts and 2 seconds, to move up high enough. So if we were to move up to pick number 4, we would be giving up a ton of talent in future drafts to land one receiver in Justin Blackmon.

I think we should look into bringing in Tandon Doss. I hear he's pretty good and apparently knows our system.
He's kind of short. Everyone wants tall, speedy receivers these days.

Doss goes 6'2.

And of course they do. But not every WR is Megatron or AJ.

If a guy can separate and has good hands, he can carve out a niche in the passing game. Doss obviously has sure mitts. And I can't imagine him struggling to separate more than Q.

I'm pretty sure that I've written that I think that Doss will see a lot more field time after an offseason of OTAs, a full training camp, and some exhibition games. Too bad he could arrange a few sessions with Flacco to develop timing. This was the pick that Flacco wanted.

I don't think he's struggled to separate at all. Kevin Byrne said this about him during last week's live feed.
Kevin Byrne:He's my "pick to click." You fans don't get to see our practices and I'm not a coach or scout, but I can't tell you how many times he caught my eye making good plays against our first-team defense all last season.
Put it this way - if we brought in a free agent WR who we could say that about, the board would erupt. But we already have a guy who we can say that about.

Not to sound antagonistic, but that was my underlying point. He's one of those WRs that just gets open.

I'll admit I'm a little PO'ed because I feel like now we may have to draft one this year and I was hoping to shore up something during free agency. It's just that I feel like we have 7 holes and 6 draft picks to work with - that and having so many holes is messing up my mock draft, lol. But we'll get by - if the offensive line is even marginally better next season, I'll take it.

Well, Ted Ginn visited with us on Friday. Would link it off of Aaron Wilson's twitter, but I'm on my phone.

If he comes in cheap as a return specialist, he could be useful - at least we could let him and Reed compete for the job and cut whoever loses.

Please, God...no Ted Ginn. I really don't want any FA WR. I really don't. Not unless it's an UDFA WR.

I wouldn't be against bringing Chad Johnson if NE lets him go, he's a hard worker who's after this season will be under the radar, and he has never been injury prone. I don't think he's some kind of locker poison, yes he used to be a diva, yes we didn't see him all year but he definately can help our team. Imo

It's a nice thought, but I don't think we should entertain this idea. I'm a little tired of the veteran FA WR signings that never work out for us. See Housh & Evans. We barely saw 85 last year, and the year before when we did see him he didn't look that good. I think he is done, personally. I think Moss has more left in him than Chad.

I still think Braylon Edwards might be a decent pickup at the vet minimum. He had a few good years with the Jets and seems to have the dropsies under control.

If healthy bring back LEE EVANS! He will be able to help us with a true training camp and good health. Alot cheaper and I feel he has a little left to prove about the drop. He gives us the ability to focus on other aspects in the draft than wide out.

Bringing back Lee Evans at a discount would be a decent move I think. He knows the system by now, hes proved to be productive throughout his career without a QB. He definitely has a fire burning after that dropped TD, I feel he would come back highly motivated and ready to win.

Ted Ginn should absolutely be brought in as a return specialist. Hes shown he can be counted on to secure the ball and always has the potential to bring it back to the house. Probably would come in on the cheap side as well. Either him or we draft a return man, because I actually may cry if I see Webby return another kick, or god forbid have Ed Reed on punts again.

The Lee Evan's market is playing well for us.

I guess every team saw his terrible season and his drop as a red flag.

Only bring him back for one year veteran minimum (show me what you got) contract.

People claim Evans is a one trick pony, but I think he can fit the role of an Antonio Brown. However, with Cam around, I don't expect much.

Only sign Tedd Ginn if he signs a reasonable special teams only contract.

Not that Devin Hester or Joshua Cribbs playmaker contract.

Ginn is pretty much limited on the offensive side, but does wonders on special teams.
