Royal signed with the broncos again according to ESPN
Thank God. I like Royal, but I really want us to address o-line in FA over anything else.

All that's left is Ginn, and I hope someone else gets him, too. Like JAX.

We have Smith & Boldin with locked positions. Doss & LaQuan in there as well wanting a spot. Then there's Reed...well, I don't think he has a future here.

Yes, I think we need to draft two wide receivers, with one having KR/PR ability. I want a big WR (Floyd, Quick, Criner, Childs, McNutt, Randle) & a small one (Broyles, Hilton, Maze). The small guy would be for KR/PR. Broyles would be the best in my eyes, followed by Hilton. I love Maze, but I'm not sure he can play anything besides special teams due to his height. He's 5'8". Who knows, though. Maze made some pretty amazing catches for a small guy.

We should trade Wholeoati Not-a for Kalvan Jonsun... I don't want any of these bum wrs that keep costing us games. If we are going to to be disappointed I would rather it be a rookie who will grow or a player who's already on the roster that shows promise. No need to keep bringing in these low budget guys who fail us when the lights are brightest.

This. While we're at it, let's sign Case-in Hamper from the Steelers. We can also get Larry Foot, but Rex will probably get him because he likes feet. We can replace Nata & McClan with those guys. If we lose Web we can just pick Car & Foxworthe back up. We can re-sign Todd Heep if the Cardinals cut him because Dixon & Pita sucked.

You my friend..... Are a.... GENIUS! Like a young Matt Millen. If at first you don't succeed keep swinging. Eventually he got it right with Kalvan.

I love how this thread was made and every single one of the receivers people wanted the Ravens to sign all signed elsewhere and the Ravens showed no interest in any of them.

This is why "Ravens should sign Player X" threads are worthless and stupid.

Player x is finally a FA? He has the height and speed to blossom in Camerons system if he gets on the field. Ozzie, make it happen.

Yep... he was released today by "Team X" don't know why he was released but Player X will sure be a good addition to anyone's receiving core. I wouldn't be surprised to see Player X sign with the Titans/Broncos to try to secure Peyton Manning.

On a more serious note, I did expect us to sign a receiver but damn every single one of them has been signed.

I think you've mistaken Player X for Player Y. Clearly Player X doesn't know which direction he wants to go

Was hoping for Meachum but didn't think he would command that kind of money and Manningham is way out of our price range. Would rather just draft than pick anyone up unless its for kick return purposes. Everyone keeps saying defense for the first pick, I say we try and help out Flacco. With Reed and Lewis returning, Kruger and Mcphee filling in, I don't see much of a dip. The offense needs a another playmaker or reliable protection.

We all know nearly all the big name free agent WRs are gone, and we all knew Oz wouldnt blow a trillion dollars on one anyhow. But there are some free agents that could be a good addition at a cheaper price, that could compliment a rookie receiver we will most likely add in the early rounds of the draft.

Steve Smith 5'11 Philly Eagles- There was some buzz last year about acquiring the injured speedy slot receiver, but he got grabbed by the Eagles and had a pretty mediocre season due to coming off of his injured knee, and reinjured it and went back on the IR. I think he will get back on his feet this year and as long as he passes his physical and everything checks out, he could come at a cheaper price. I believe Smith could help are team out. He may have lost a step in his speed, but he still has great catching and route running capabilities.

Braylon Edwards 6'3 SF 49ers- Another injury flagged receiver who was once a threat at the position, who if healthy could be another deep threat for Joe Flacco. Also a decent return specialist, Edwards could fill multiple holes for us and would come at the right price due to his trial and error last year in SF. I think Edwards would be a great addition but that knee has to be all systems a go or atleast close to it.

Derek Hagan 6'2 Buffalo Bills- You might be saying "who the heck is Derek Hagan?". Well Derek Hagan has been playing fill in the past couple seasons for teams who lost a veteran receiver to injury. He has played for the Giants, Raiders, and most recently the Bills. I have watched this guy play, he is a pretty athletic guy. He is a kind of under the radar guy that plays well as a 3rd string slot receiver with physical plkay style. He would complment Q and Torrey well, and with them getting the majority of the coverage Hagan usually gets open with ease. He would most definitely come at a minimal contract. At 27 years old he still has youth and potential to be a threat at the position.

Notable Mentions-Ted Ginn JR, Chaz Schilens, Devin Aroshomodu, Early Doucet

That's all he can do. And for all his speed, his career YPC is pretty sad too.

I think we go the draft route again. Torrey's success and Tandon's promise, plus the surprise of LaQuan, I think really encouraged the FO to try looking for receivers instead of signing ancient FAs.

Sleeper free agents

Steve Smith Philly

Braylon Edwards SF

Derek Hagan Buffalo

All have talent and could come at a cheap price, its only if Ozzie is willing to take a chance or not. Smith and Edwards are both great receivers, if it wasnt for their injured knees they would still play at a high level, And I still think they can do so.

Derek Hagan has played for the Giants, Raiders, and Bills the past 2 seasons and showed he can play well if used effectively. He has physical attributes and some decent speed as well. But the best part is we can get him for cheap. He is still young and has room to grow and get better.

Looks like no Royal either. He signed with the chargers TOO!
Excellent. Now all we need is for Ginn to go (Cam's favorite) and we will be set to draft a WR.

I am afraid of Ginn. If we get him, you know Cam will use him. He loves the guy.
