I know this is a crazy notion, but is it possible the Steelers draft a quarterback this year? Ben is getting older, getting beat up, getting injured a lot. I could seriously see them draft a quarterback. I also remember them shopping Ben around a little back when they sent Santonio packing.

No they're a few years away from having to do that. This is Ben's 9th season coming up and he's only 30 this year. They may draft a late round QB as a back-up but they have bigger needs that will be higher priority (NT, OL, DB). They never shopped around Ben. Did you read that from Bleacher Report? The whole Ben for Sam Bradford thing was complete BS.

We're still recovering from a Bleacher Report article citing our message board as a source for a Jared Gaither-Nnamdi Asomugha trade, years ago. That was a mess for us. -_-

We are?

I remember it, but I don't see why we'd be the ones recovering from it. Who cites a team's message board as a source? I mean, seriously?

I honestly don't remember the source at all. I just remember hearing about it, so there is no credibility other than I remember hearing about it. It was right after he was accused of the second rape or whatever with that girl in Georgia (?) I think it was. It was the 2011 season when he missed the first four games due to the suspension that resulted from that incident.

Regardless, I could see them look at a quarterback somewhere in the draft for multiple reasons. It's a nice draft for quarterbacks, they could groom him, and then use him as a back-up. Dennis is their best back-up and he might even be gone. Batch is a manager. Troy Smith is Troy Smith.

I personally see them targeting OL in the 1st and a DL in the 2nd. Probably go with a DB in the third. I keep hearing people projecting Hightower to them, but I don't see them drafting an ILB in the 1st or 2nd round.
Ozzie, please sign Marcus McNeil (LT). It's all I want for off-season. Thanks.

As Haley stated, he isn't a system guy. He calls the plays that best utilize the offense (yeah!) rather than say we're a running team or a passing team. He said if he needs to run it 62 times a game to score the most points, then he'll do that. If he needs to pass 62 times a game, then he'll do that. A lot of that will be determined by how Mendenhall recovers from his ACL injury. I just hope they pick up a real fullback this off season.
I hear ya but didn't the Rooney's say they wanted to get back to a "blue collar" offense? True "blue collar" could be interpreted many different ways but a lot of people automatically associate that with a more bruising running style of offense. And as you pointed out, the Rooney's run that team. Not Ben, not Tomlin, and certainly not Haley.

Haley in for a rough ride, perhaps.

Gonna be an interesting year in Pittsburgh, methinks.

Well, time will tell. To put it in a way that Ravens fans would understand, imagine the Ravens dumping Cam and hiring Haley. I bet most of you would be stoked. Arians is no better than Cam in our view. Sure he was good between the 20s but he was a terrible play caller in the red zone and would also do stupid moves like draw up slow developing plays while Ben is hobbling, throw bubble screens on third and three or fail to make any in-game adjustments when his game plan isn't working. He also refused to utilize a proper fullback. Haley's goal is to score as many points as possible. Arians' goal was to rack up as many yards as possible. Unfortunately yards does not equal points as evidence of our 12th ranking in yardage and 22nd ranking in scoring.

I for one am eager to see what Haley can do with this offense.

I really hate you for making me admit this, really I do but......no. I'd rather be stuck with Cam than have cry-baby emotionally unstable Haley here.

It's gonna be fun seeing Haley get pissed at Harbs twice a year at least.
John Harbaugh on the 2012 Mayan Doomsday Prophecy:

"It's a real strong possibility that it may happen. We'll have to let it play out, and we'll see in a few months. It's also a strong possibility that it won't happen. Do I believe in it personally? No. Well, maybe. We'll also be looking at bringing in new theories and having them compete, but whichever one emerges has to earn it's spot."

Well that and I do believe Tomlin might have to play referee between Haley and Ben from time to time lol

Steelers fans will love it when he's crying about teams running up the score on them, even though he's just the O.C. /sarcasm
I know. He did that with us in the preseason and I bet he'll do it twice in 2012. Todd Haley is a jerk, and matches much of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Go Baltimore Ravens!
