Steelers fans will love it when he's crying about teams running up the score on them, even though he's just the O.C. /sarcasm

LOL...oh the North just keeps getting more and more interesting...

How is he an improvement over Arians? Can someone please answer that for me?

I think that is a good pick up by the Steelers - Haley is a good offensive mind. I wonder how he and Ben will get along....

He is a great offensive mind that has proven it when given the oppurtunity to do so. He took the Cardinals to the Superbowl and had one of the best passing attacks with them. Got the Chiefs HC position and turned them around to become one of the best rushing attacks in the NFL last year. Only reason the man is out as a HC job is because, basically, every big name from the Chiefs got injured and they were horrible.

He also has a very effective fast tempo shotgun pace to his passing game. Likes to run the no huddle and maximize the plays for the offense. With Pitts speed on O with their WR's that can lead to many big plays and a deadly O passing attack.

If the Ravens would have gotten Haley I would have done multiple backflips. The man is a good offensive mind.

I dont like the pickup, for us anyway.
Haley is a cry baby but hes also pretty good OC. So Steelers offense will likely improve, and Ravens still have Cameron. -_-

Ya I don't like this pick up. I see them being better next year and a much younger team. Many people on their roster will not be returning due to the cap. The offseason will be very interesting.

I don't really see how he's anything more than a below-average coordinator.

You can give him all the credit you want for his time in Arizona, but he had Kurt Warner, Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin. If you don't have a prolific offense with those weapons then you don't belong in the NFL.

KC were mediocre without Weiss. He made Cassel serviceable enough to get the ball to Dwayne Bowe and fed Jamaal Charles. Haley's been incredibly lucky to work with very talented players. I think he's an awful coordinator, but that's as much to do with his horrendous personality.

Haley's personality most likely clouds my opinion of him as an OC.

He seems to like to whine about things so he'll probably fit right in over there.

I would settle with the Ravens demonstrating that they at least know that there is a problem with the fact that every Ravens fan knows that the first down play is going to be Rice up the middle for no gain, but what can you do?

Now he'll have Ben, Wallace, Brown, Miller and anyone else I might have forgotten. Of course, both the Cards and the Chiefs were in weak divisions. It remains to be seen how well he will do against the prolific defense he will have to face next year.

The sad part is the Steelers have won a championship and went to another SB with Arians, yet they weren't satisfied. The Ravens on the other hand, have had a very average offense and its been our downfall almost every year. Yet our FO seems very satisfied with Cam.

I hate to say it, but these are one of the reasons the Steelers have a championship(since we got Flacco), and the Ravens don't.

Are the Steelers still planning on going back to a "Ground and Pound" offense? I don't see Todd Haley as a "Ground and Pound" OC. He certainly doesn't have the quality O-Line and RB situation that he had in KC. At this point anyway.

I swear, you and I are like same person. My opinions are almost always the same as yours (besides movies, of course!). Todd Haley was a great pickup for the Steelers. Kind of jealous to be honest

Yes it is very odd. I thought the Steelers were going to push the run style offense because they are 25 million over the cap and how can you afford Mike Wallace and Antonio Brown, both Pro Bowlers this year, and cut down on cap? Maybe they're trying to make one last run?

Todd Haley would seem a good fit for their offensive personell, but I thought the owner already dictated what direction he wanted the offense to head in. It's an odd fit tbh..

Either the Rooney's have changed their mind or this hiring was to appease Ben since he was reportedly upset over the firing of Arians.

Todd Haley knows how to use WRs. I expect Mike Wallace and Antonio Brown to have huge stats next year. Haley is going to make this offense really explosive.

I don't see how they can keep Wallace, though.

He's a free agent and they're around 20 Million over the cap already.

Wallace is a Restricted Free Agent. So if someone doesn't offer up their first pick and a good sized contract than he is a Steeler. Also just heard I think yesterday that Woodley re adjusted his contract to save them $7 Mill in cap space for next season. So they are at around $18 Mill over. When they get rid of their aging players on D, then they should be fine with the cap.

Maybe New England Patriots will offer them their 31th first round pick for him. I've heard they have like a 20+ mio cap room. I know they have to sign Wes Welker, but imagine them with a true deep threat like Mike Wallace. That sounds pretty scary to me.
But I think (HOPE!) that the Steelers will regress a lot, because they have to cut a lot to live up to the cap room requirement.

Oh good! This is a great hire! We won't have to worry about the Steelers anymore. We know they won't run up the score with Haley calling the plays.

Jamison Hensley is saying Big Jen is hoping Haley won't make him have to learn a whole new offense:

http://espn.go.com/b...t-to-start-over

Jameson's analysis is spot on though, they wouldn't have hired Haley if they wanted to keep the same offense.

Well actually this is where the Cam Cameron syndrome can strike down on Pittsburgh but with Todd Haley. We all know Cam doesn't like to run up the score and stops scoring because he feels it's good enough. Haley well we know how pissed he got when he was the Chiefs HC and McDaniels ran up the score on him which led to the famous finger pointing. So since Haley doesn't like the score being run up on him, when the Steelers score enough, he'll do what Cam does and get conservative and stop scoring so he doesn't run up the score on the other team.

I think Haley's a hypocrite and will try and run the score up whenever possible. He's just a really, really sore loser.
