Anyone think this is a possibility? Patriots almost always make A LOT of trades involving their draft picks. Especially with their weak secondary, I think they would love to have Carr on their team. We could probably get a 3rd or 4th rounder (3rd because at their position, the 3rd is pretty much a 4th).

We can completely wipe clean his salary from the team and gain something from it.

Carr is good, but with Webb and Cary most likely coming back (Cary won't be expensive) and Jimmy Smith and Gorrer in the entire group...that is a great team. Carr, especially with his cost, is just not worth it.

Not sure if they would go for it, because they only have 6 picks in the draft. However, their fourth round pick is their lowest pick - they have 2 firsts, 2 seconds and a third also, so they might go for it. That would make me happy.

I don't think we will get a 3rd rounder but maybe a trade could be worked out with a team. I would like to keep him for depth, but not at current money.

There's no way the Pats (or any team) is trading away a 3rd or 4th for an undersized CB coming off an unproductive season that turns 29 this year.

I'm guessing he simply gets released.

We'd get at most a 5th rounder for Carr. We'd be better off keeping him

We should trade for Sebastian Vollmer.

Trade Carr to the pats? Why not I hear the team is in need of a new washing machine.

Not sure Carr is much of an improvement to the Pats secondary. They would continue to fill their roster with backup talent at cb

Lol, yeah. I doubt any team gives a 3-4th round pick for Carr. If they did I would say Ozzie used his Jedi mind tricks. That would be ridiculous.

Pats may get more picks. They don't have a lot now or any deep round picks now, but they may come draft day when they trade their original 1st round pick.

Regardless, I see the Colts more likely than the Pats, but who really knows. The Colts have a terrible secondary, but we've seen the Patriots' secondary. I think we could get anywhere from a 5-7th round pick for Chris Carr. He may just be straight-up released, though.
Ozzie, please sign Marcus McNeil (LT). It's all I want for off-season. Thanks.

BB isnt that dumb. Carr has like no upside. But he could be a starter over there!

Trade Bernard Pollard to them for 3 first round picks, he's cost them 2 maybe 3 Superbowls now.

Why would we want to make the Pats better? Carr isn't some scrub. He might not be a starter here, but he'd be one for the Pats and he's a good solid CB.

I'd like to keep him but it really doesn't sound like he'd be open to restructure and he's just too costly for a 4th/5th CB. If they trade, send him to the NFC somewhere lol

Anyone else realize the Pats haven't won a Super Bowl since their defense either was super old and slow or non existant?

Maybe Bill will realize that his "situational" defense can't stop crap when push comes to shove and actually start drafting defensive players who are good like Mayo compared to whatever other garbage he's taken recently.

That's not the only problem - Since 09, he's picked seven players in rounds 1-3 on defense - he's drafted guys like McCourty, Cunningham, Dowling, Spikes, and Chung early - but they just haven't produced the way he probably intended.
