I'm curious to know who you all think can come in and be a better reciever than Lee Evans is. We saw that it wasn't Doss, im sorry but TD needs some serious time to develop before he gets more PT

But he is a great special teamer!

Lee Evans needs to get healthy and then put in some work with Joe at OTAs and training camp.

There is no one out there that we could have instead without blowing millions or using a high round pick.

If Lee is dropped it's because he costs too much and isn't willing to restructure.

Why don't more fans crucify Boldin for dropping (yes, it was an ACTUAL drop) the TD vs. Pitt last year? Because Boldin is still important to our offseason. Lee did well in the postseason, generally speaking.

I guess the Pats should cut Welker too.
You're not compairing Welker to Evans are you?...really???

Lets be honest, we know how to develop our WR's about as well as Bill Polian knows how to build a well rounded team. We need Evans out of necessity, he's too valuable, you can't just teach speed, hands and experience.

It probably has something to do with the fact that both of them had crucial drops in championship games that cost their teams greatly.

I really don't want Lee to go anywhere and I believe he won't as long as he agrees to restructure his contract. And he will do just that, remember he called Oz the day after to ask for support. Now if he didn't want to come back or show that he's willing to discuss contract, why would he call the GM? We should sign him for $5-$5.5 mil for the next two years, that will release about $2 mil for this year's cap and we get a very good WR when healthy.

This is my list of the expendable Ravens: (1) "I can't hang onto the ball for the winning TD" Evans; (2) "wide to the left" Cundiff; (3) "I really burned you on that contract" Foxworth; (4) "Fumbleena" D. Reed.

All 4 passes?

I don't want him gone, but due to injury and lack of chemistry he did nothing this season. I think he has to swallow his pride, realise he had an awful season and restructure his deal. He's not worth half of what he's scheduled to make next year.
We got him cheap. Evans' tenure in Buffalo proved he is an elite receiver. On a lousy, bungling offense in Buffalo he was the shining star. Stretching the field while making the tough catches. We haven't had the privilage, I mean it, privilage, of seeing this man play a full season. Evans has Torey Holt skills.

I mean expendable strictly from a business standpoint. There are cheaper alternatives to Evans, Cundiff and Foxworth. D. Reed is injured so I don't know if we can cut him until he heals. Even so, he is a good gunner on ST, so it's not a waste of money to keep him. I'm still getting over the loss and need someone to blame. Posted Image

The question is though, can he stay healthy, because while he hadn't had injury concerns in the past, he will just turn 30 and he's playing in a division now where there are a lot of good defenses and physical corners. Hopefully if he is with the team he can make the impact that we were all expecting after the preseason where it looked like he and Flacco had some nice chemistry going.

Didn't he have that nagging injury for awhile now and has played through it? He's 100% now hopefully.

I'm not sure if it was nagging. I know he got hurt at the end of last season in Buffalo, missed some games, and then missed half the season this year. Maybe Buffalo knew something we didn't, or maybe they just didn't want to pay him when Steve Johnson broke out and they knew Johnson would have to be resigned this offseason. All I'm hoping is that his injuries are not a sign of things to come - he's been a very durable receiver the majority of his career, but as he gets older and takes more hits, who knows?

Yea I dont want to see him go. He will have a huge impact next year. Hopefully while running 3 wr sets and bunches.

That would mean cam cameron actually makes offensive changes this offseason..... All we can do is hope since he still here lol

I just hope he realizes that we shouldnt have a system that we run. We should utilize our talent and make our own system to suit our players. Build it from the ground up for our guys. Sometimes I think he just puts X's and O's on a board to create plays when it really should be jersey numbers up there to build around that guys talents and short commings.

I think the most overused term (and misused) IMHO is "elite" (no offense to you Ravenslifter). I heard the talking heads proclaim Eli Manning is now an "elite" quarterback after the Giants won the SB. If Gronkowski had been another 18 inches closer to that Hail Mary that Lady threw and the Patriots would have won..would that have meant that Eli wasn't an "elite" QB? I'm so tired of the whole argument. "Elite should be saved for the hall of fame introductions.

There are mistakes, and there are critical mistakes. Games are won in the 4th quarter. I just don't think there's any excuse at all to miss a glorified extra point. Cundiff has simply not been reliable this season.

Remember Joe threw an interception in the 4th as well that the defense then bailed him out and got the ball back... the pats could have put us to bed at that point... but didn't.
