Well atleast we know now and the speculation of the offseason is gone. Can you tell us what else is happening in the organization?

I have my sources and I'm willing to bet good money that I'm going
to end up being right.

People can have sources, and you may be correct but it's not absolute until the ink is on the paper.

I had someone tell me that Willis McGahee would be traded and he had a great source. Then, after the deadline passed, he claimed the deal happened and would just be approved and reported retroactively. Obviously, neither happened, and he hasn't been back in over a year. Perhaps his source was a little further out of the loop than he thought?

Personally, I don't think the Ravens cut Evans. I don't think they take their 4th-round picks that lightly, just to get a 1-year rental that barely saw the field. I think they know he has more potential than what he showed and can be a valuable asset to this offense when healthy. Maybe - if they want him to take a pay cut and he won't - I could see them dropping him.

Lee Evans should be released, not because he dropped the TD pass, but because the fans will never forget. Lee is a great individual and one of the top receivers in the NFL. I, for one, can be forgiving, but the majority of the fans will not. How many Red Sox fans ever forgave Bill Buckner? We hold our Pro athletes to a higher level than we do our friends. The best thing for Lee Evans is to be released and get a fresh start in another city. I know that Lee would like to stay in Baltimore and redeem himself, but I just can not see the fans being anything but hostile toward him.
It seemed like Lee Evans and Joe Flacco were finally connecting some. Give it one more chance. Let's see how Evans does in practice.

To me, I think the real key here is Evans' salary and the fact that he is now the number 3 wide receiver on the depth chart. Torrey earned the number 2 spot, and I don't think anything Lee can do at this point will change that. I believe his base is something like 3 million, and to me that's way too much for your number 3 receiver, given that A) your number 2 makes far less, B. this team does not use 3 wide receiver sets that often, C) there are several younger, cheaper players on the roster that could be good number 3 receivers in Doss and Williams, D) the front office specifically mentioned addressing the WR position this offseason, which means that, for the first time in franchise history I feel like, we may actually have too much talent at the receiver position and have to release or trade somebody. If Lee renegotiates his contract and takes a pay cut to save on cap, keep him, but otherwise, that 3 million could help to resign key guys like Ben Grubbs.

LOL, releasing him is out of question. Technicaly he didn't drop it, it was bashed outta his hads. Anyway, releasing him really wouldn't do anyone anygood. That game already happened. That's why Harbs is a great coach; he doesn't look BACK on what didn't happen, but he looks FORWARD on what can happen. Posted Image

Why not? We're not talking about his merits as a receiver when we speak of releasing him. He's still a very good receiver. However, the point is he is due a lot of money unless he restructures his deal. If he doesn't restructure, I don't see why we'd pay our 3rd receiver the amount he'd get when A) our second receiver makes less than half of that, and B. we have guys waiting in the wings i.e. Doss, Williams, etc. that are younger, cheaper options. It really will come down to cost effectiveness.

From what I hear Harbaugh never wanted Evans in the first place. It's shocking how much support Evans is getting.
