Lee Evans should be released, not because he dropped the TD pass, but because the fans will never forget. Lee is a great individual and one of the top receivers in the NFL. I, for one, can be forgiving, but the majority of the fans will not. How many Red Sox fans ever forgave Bill Buckner? We hold our Pro athletes to a higher level than we do our friends. The best thing for Lee Evans is to be released and get a fresh start in another city. I know that Lee would like to stay in Baltimore and redeem himself, but I just can not see the fans being anything but hostile toward him.

Right, because he didn't DROP the pass; it was stripped from him.

Give him another chance...nothing is going to change the events in the past. At least let him try to play a full season healthy and then evaluate him imo.

luckily for us, our front office doesn't make knee-jerk decisions like this lol. If he goes it's for financial reasons, nothing more.

Depends on what the front office thinks. Fact is, this year and last year are the only two years in his career he was really injured, so it's not like he has a major history of injury. He'll only be 31 next season, so it's not like his skills will diminish. He brings an element of speed that we also have in Torrey, but he is also a veteran receiver where everyone besides Q will be 2nd and 3rd year players. The real question to me though, is suppose we keep Lee, and we draft a receiver, will Cam finally realize that the year is not 1950 and you can run 4 and 5 wide receiver sets? Because talent does no good if it sits on the bench.

So we should release him because we'll always remember what he did lol? What about Cundiff? Lee will redeem himself next year because he'll be healthy. By your logic, we should have released Boldin last year because of his dropped pass against the Steelers, but he's still here

I think he can be a great part of this team remember he was hurt for much of the season.

I have thought about this.... Lee is a solid WR. Had a rough year. I think we need to keep consistency in the WR spot. But, who knows what happens. Maybe a restructure type thing to help keep some other FA's may be the way to keep him here.

People drop the ball, Im over it. You win as a team and you lose as a team (hence why I hate when people put W's on the QB). We are better with him and we have an offensive line to address and pass rush, lets keep him.

The ball was stripped from him but he should not have let it be stripped. All he had to do was hold on and the Ravens advance to the Super Bowl.

That being said his play was not a choke job like Billy's wild field goal attempt. I'd rather keep Lee and get rid of Billy.

We need to keep Evans... when he is on the field he can make great plays. 3 receiver sets with Torrey and Boldin... that's a great trio.

Agreed with you until the Bold.

Don't know how you can call a kicker running on the field and kicking into wind a choke job....it's call bad usage of non time out

I agree. People can stick up for him all they want, but his ONLY job is to make field goals and perform kick offs/onside kicks. If you can't make the most important kick of your life, then we don't need you on this team

If Lee is dropped it's because he costs too much and isn't willing to restructure.

Why don't more fans crucify Boldin for dropping (yes, it was an ACTUAL drop) the TD vs. Pitt last year? Because Boldin is still important to our offseason. Lee did well in the postseason, generally speaking.

I guess the Pats should cut Welker too.
