I was slightly shocked up after going this far in the Playoffs and folding up....
Now I have gotten over the loss and I'm ready for the draft and Off season.
This off season focus in my opinion is to keep as much of the team together as we can..
The Following;

1) Rare Ozzie needs to sign the Rare guys first...
This is the way it goes Grubbs-Joe-Rice.
You will never find another Grubbs these guys don't just crawl into the NFL...
To find a Franchise QB another Rarity. Every team has a Running back playing over 1,000 yards but nobody does it better then Rice..

2) We need another deep threat Wide-out preferably younger and lets add a Rookie Corner..
Webb played well as Nickle and Smith can go man to man...
Remember there was no Chris McAlister without Samari Rolle.

3) O-line--- The bigger you are the harder you fall...
We need dept at Center and maybe at the tackle Position.
Gurode needs to be resigned did well enough job at center..

What is so rare about Grubbs that can't be duplicated? I don't see anything about his game that another player cannot perform just as well. It is harder to find a franchise quarterback & a shutdown corner, but I disagree regarding Grubbs. I agree somewhat about Rice. It is easier to find dynamic running back now than it was years ago.

Webb could play any position in our secondary, not just nickel. I would rather him be on our opponent's best receiver.

I agree about center, though I think it would be better to just get a veteran stop-gap free agent & sign an UDFA or draft a center late than get a day 1 starter or a 1st round pick like Konz. We need a LT solution for sure. McKinnkie is done after this year. Either we address it this year or next, but we have to plan for it.
Ozzie, please sign Marcus McNeil (LT). It's all I want for off-season. Thanks.

Look at Film Study... He is an Offensive Lineman... Every time Ray Runs behind Grubbs he gets the 1st down and probably more...

Would you put Gurode in for Grubbs?

Yeah. Maybe we can merge some of these. There are a lot of priorities for the offseason threads out there.

I don't really have the time to do film study, but I will say that offensive linemen, particularly interior offensive linemen can be duplicated. It is much harder to find a JO than a Grubbs. JO is a rare talent. I don't think Grubbs is going to the Hall of Fame when his career is over. I could be wrong, but that's just the way it goes. We can find someone to do as good a job as Grubbs in free agency or in the draft. I would bank on that.

This wasn't directed at me, but no, I would not. Gurode would be a center and that's it. I'm not sure he can do the LG position at this point in his career. Who knows, though. Maybe a full offseason does wonders for him. We brought him in late.

The draft is fairly deep at OL so I expect the line to be addressed in there. Konz, Zeitler, and Adams are just a few names that people are high on. At least one of them should fall to us in the first round if we decide to pick.

I'm just giving you a bad time.. and no, I would not. I would keep Gurode though if Birk were to retire this year or next year.

LOL.. true that. Oniel Cousins was an offensive lineman, and I don't hear anyone clamoring for him to come back just because of the position he played haha..

Grubbs had a really good year no doubt, but there are also four more Guards who are free agents this year who I would say is better than Grubbs (Evan Mathis, Carl Nicks, Jake Scott, and Chad Rinehart). Overall, its a competitive market this year. We could probably even plug in someone like Mackenzy Bernadeau and be ok.

BTW, Gurode was horrible at Guard this year.

Grubbs taking priority over Joe and Rice? Don't make me laugh.

Webb "played well in nickel?"He played outside almost exclusively, and is emerging as one of the best corners in the league.

I doubt we'll resign Gurode, someone will pay him to start. We'll probably draft a Center (Peter Konz is the name being floated currently, but he might be kind of high for us), and we'll almost certainly look to address tackle. Boren's a player to look for to step up. He might not start at Guard or Center but it wouldn't surprise me if he competed well for one of the jobs.

I wonder how much Chris Myers (texans) C will go for? He's really only good in a zone blocking scheme, so his choices will be limited. Texans likely have to pay Williams and Foster big time which could push them on their cap as well.

I agree 100%. He would be a good fit here. Not too many teams currently run the zone blocking scheme but you never know. He would be a great addition. I'd rather get him than a rookie as long as he comes cheap. What is the average salary for a center?

Myers will most likely be a priority over Mario if you ask me because that defense played just fine without him and he will command a huge contract. That money to me would be better spent on keeping the best o line in football intact. Mario will be a cap casualty and Texans will find replacements or acquire in FA. If they were smart franchise and trade. Side note, our defense was better than I thought. Not only finishing as 3rd best but also played about 40 more snaps than the teams ahead of us and a few right behind.

No joke. Texans would be stupid to let him walk, but you never know. Maybe they franchise Mario & trade him. They could get more picks for Williams than Myers. Not sure if that's what you meant.

They also have a really good Guard in Brisiel that is also a FA I think. I would scoop up either of them if they were let go so they could keep Mario.

Brisiel is 28 so there is still some long term prospect there.

I would take either. Not only to bolster our line but to help give us reads on their d line which killed us in both meetings. It seems like us vs the Texans is going to become a little rivalry. And I meant franchise Williams and keep Myers if I'm the Texans.

If we are going to replace the guard then we better do it quickly because to establish chemistry on this team will take a whole off season and a full length pre season... If someone told me there was a rookie in the draft a kicker that will never miss a field goal I would take him in the 1st round... Rex Ryan and Mike Tananbaum are building a team that will show up to the tittle game again... If we want to compete against the AFC East we need to start today!
