I'd rather Rice not be franchised. It would be better for everyone. If Rice's deal gets done, we will know how much money we have to play with for Grubbs, Webb, & Flacco. Rice needs linemen or he can't run, so hopefully he knows how important it is to keep Grubbs or sign a quality lineman and takes a hit for us.
Ozzie, please sign Marcus McNeil (LT). It's all I want for off-season. Thanks.

I would love to have Rice back but at the same time I will never want this team to invest so much money in the offense. Running backs are a dime a dozen and if he thinks we will give him Chris Johnson money (not saying he is) then he should walk. Grubbs and Webb are guys to build a football a team around, Rice and a rookie Center, Left guard and a slow tackle won't do squat for this team.

I would generally agree with you with the "dime a dozen" comment but specific to Ray Rice, I disagree. Rice is not your average running back. The man is a complete offensive playmaker. Rice was #2 in rushing yards (1,364) in the league and #2 in receiving yards (704) for a running back who trailed Darren Sproles by only 6 yards. Also, him and Joe have a rhythm. Whether it's a hand off or the check down...Ray Rice is a rock solid reliable back and if need be has incredible hands to grab a ball. And c'mon...what other running back had a 118 passer rating this year? :)

Defenses MUST anticipate Rice on every down he's in because of his dynamic abilities and pure speed. Also, let's not forget how many games this year Rice put the offense on his back and got us the necessary points to win games. Bottom line, PAY THE MAN.

The Ravens can save some salary cap room if they sign Rice to a long term deal, this is the same situation as the Ngata deal

Im sure we will work for that long term deal to save us money, now when it gets done is another story

I would generally agree with you, but we still can't afford Chris Johnson money, not that Ray will be asking for it.

I semi agree with you. Rice is far from a dime a dozen back. He's a special player. However, no running back can do anything without a good offensive line.

Exactly and who had a better career Bailey or Portis?
