I am excited to see what happens with his contract. I have a sinking feeling that he will get unpaid.

Huh? Can you explain "unpaid"?
Ozzie, please sign Marcus McNeil (LT). It's all I want for off-season. Thanks.

did you just see the contract skevin kolb, ryan fitzpatrick and matt cassell got. flacco has had a longer more productive history than any of them guys, and the got around 5/6 60 mil... flacco will easily see 6yrs/70mil compared to them

...and which one of those 3 QB you mentioned actually lived up to their contract? Flacco is not worth anything more than 50mill/6 yrs in my book. And that is being very generous. Have him fish around and see if any team/fan base wants Flacco in their uniform. Guranteed Z-E-R-O.

It doesn't matter if they lived up to their contracts or not. If Flacco's agent is smart and money hungry (which all agents are) then that will be the lowest that they will go. He has a better winning history and stats. He will def. get at least 6 yr $70 mill.

Flacco would be an upgrade over at least 20 teams starting Quarterback. It's not like we're the only place who would take him.
John Harbaugh on the 2012 Mayan Doomsday Prophecy:

"It's a real strong possibility that it may happen. We'll have to let it play out, and we'll see in a few months. It's also a strong possibility that it won't happen. Do I believe in it personally? No. Well, maybe. We'll also be looking at bringing in new theories and having them compete, but whichever one emerges has to earn it's spot."

I disagree. You should make a topic that Flacco should go. There seems to be competition for negative records around here.

To be honest, at least to a middle class guy like me, arguing over 5 million seems petty. I would take the $50 mil or whatever it is and be grateful for it. Its millions of freaking dollars.

Its not just about the money. Its about the prestige. The higher the contract the more important these players feel. This might not matter to a true team player but those are far and few in between. So Flacco will likely demand a price above Kolb, Cassel, etc becuase he feels he has proven more and should be valued by the team more. I would expect an average of 12 to 15 Million dollars per year. Maybe I am wrong about Flacco but I really doubt it considering he was asking for a contract last season.

Rice on the other hand I could see taking less than he is worth. He never complains about a contract and expresses desire to play in Baltimore. That said, I think Rice is worth every penny as Chris Johnson or Adrian He is not only a top 5 RB, he is also the Ravens top reciever. That said, I hope he takes a contract in the 8 to 10 million dollar a year range in order to free up cap space to build a better team around him. I would wish that Grubbs and Flacco would do the same thing but I just dont see them doing it.

I agree the front office will offer him the deal you said but he might not take it and play out his deal
If its any of the above deals, he takes it. No way in hell "he might not take it and play out his deal". Not a chance!

Yeah ask Daniel Snyder and the Albert Haynesworth contract...Point being flacco will have atleast 6 or 7 teams bidding for him. Flacco took a team to the playoffs 4 straight years and is poised to have a great contract year with a young but developing office. If I am Flaccos agent I say well 50 mil is good but Redskins, Cowboys, Jets and other big market teams will and have backed up the brinks truck for players with half of what Flacco has

I agree I have no idead where ppl are getting 8 or 9 a year from. The NFL isnt the real world. Flacco is not a dumb guy and half the fans here hate him. He says well I will play out this last year and hellp eagles 6 year 120 mil

I will bet you anything -- I don't care what -- that Flacco will resign with us.
Just the fact that Flacco is under contract yet still trying to work out an extension should tell you, and all the Redskin hopefuls, all you need to know about Flacco's intentions.

Good call!

If having one $100M+ qb is good, then having two is even better, right??

Wow.

On the one extreme, we have people claiming the Eagles would offer Flacco $120M.

On the other extreme, we have this steaming pile of monkey feces that passes off as logic.

I'm hoping it's something like 10 million a year at most, although I'd laugh so hard if they gave him, 13,250,000 - Matt Ryan's salary plus 100,000 for the number of playoff games Joe's won in his career!
