6 years, $80M with $35M guaranteed; $250k bonus per playoff win; $500k bonus per Super Bowl win... that should get it done.

Way too much of a contract. I don't see the Ravens making that kind of offer. That's an Eli type deal and that's AFTER he won a Superbowl.

6 years, 70M with 32M guaranteed would be my best guess.

6 years 55 Mil, 28 guarenteed. Thats my guess. I would like it to be higher, but he has to "prove" himself by winning the Lombardi.

I think you went a bit far the other way. You have to at least put him in a bit better price range than Cassel, Kolb and Fitzpatrick who are around 63M. 4 Straight years of at least 1 playoff win will carry some weight.

Yeah I agree with this. Don't wanna over pay, but still making more than Kolb, Fitz or Cassel. 3 guys he is better than. He doesn't deserve Eli Money.

They're going to have to overpay some if they want Flacco to sign with Cam still around IMO. Incentives aren't going to carry a lot of weight with him here. Yes, it's only my opinion but I'll be surprised if Flacco is willing to sign on the cheap.

I think it carries weight for sure, but I don't think that he will get everything that he deserves.

6 years, $72M, with $30M guaranteed. I think this contract will place a heavy emphasis on incentives.
[/quote]
Sounds like we are all around the same price.

Dont get me wrong, I think he deserves a heck of a lot more, I am just saying that I dont know how well the FO will take him into consideration. I am making a conservative guess, and if I am too low, all the better for Joe.

That sounds more like it. I would say 40mil guaranteed. He might not go for the deal after what Mike vick got from the eagles. Play out his current deal then let 6 or so teams bid for him when he throws 30 or more tds next season with Jim Caldwell as his qb coach.

Yep, unfortunately for Joe, stats play a pretty big role in these things. I actually think his contract will be slightly lower -- probably in the $66M range, but I'm leaning towards him getting a little extra if he agrees to a structure that is more cap friendly

He is elite, he said it himself, we need to give him 120 million dollars! lock him up!

Ugh, I don't like how they basically said "Grubbs is great but we might move on" in the presser. That left side is going to get beat like a drum and Rice will struggle because the line will be battered.

I agree the front office will offer him the deal you said but he might not take it and play out his deal

This FO knows how to pay the absolute minimum for a player. It's not about what we think Joe is worth, it's what we think he will actually get.

To be honest, at least to a middle class guy like me, arguing over 5 million seems petty. I would take the $50 mil or whatever it is and be grateful for it. Its millions of freaking dollars.

Jim C will probably help Flacco a little bit, but Cam is still calling the plays, so i don't know how much Jim C will help Flacco's TD rate

Exactly. We chose what he deserves. They choose the minimum they can get away with.

Not me, I'd go for every penny I can get in this situation. Starting up charities, donating to existing ones, giving back to the community, ensuring the welfare of my children's children all cost money.

Yeah, if you plan on using it for the benefit of society, not blowing it on booze and hookers etc. Also, thats not to say that Joe does that, but to a guy making for example 50 mil a year, 5 mil more isnt that much in terms of spending money to burn. Those with noble intentions I am fine with fighting for every penny.
