I know you disagree, but as for QB, we are set. Considering WRs, we do have some, but one, I would prefer not to have to rely on TEs, and two, many of our recievers have been very inconsistent at key moments.

Some QBs make their receivers. Who was James Jones, who was Marques Coltons, who was Victor Cruz or Pierre Garcon?

I just don't think we have to address wide receiver for a number 3 position when we also have to address offensive line. We need a great line and great trio with great running game to get offense going and giving our qb a lucrative contract? Wow.

I'll take any criticism for this...

If there was 1 WR I could pick up in FA market at a good price that I would take is P. Burress. This guy could be the immediate answer to the red zone troubles. I was hoping we'd make a bigger play for him last year.

I am not suggesting we spend first or second round picks on WRs, but later in the draft, and perhaps out of free agency we grab some potential sleepers.

Hell.No.

He is a headcase, I know the Jets aren't exactly a controlled lockerroom but when the whole team questions him as a captain, I don't want him on our team. we would be shooting ourselves in the leg..

Better play-calling and executuin would help this team in the red-zone. Not every team has a 6'5 target, but they still get it done in the red-zone.

Colston, Cruz and even Jones and Garcon have amazing QBs throwing to him, but they're pretty talented in their own right.

I don't think WR is a major need but Q isn't getting any younger and Evans could easily be cut. And just because Joe said he liked Doss doesn't mean he's guaranteed to become a good player. We won't know till he gets/earns a shot.

I want to see Mr. Sticky hands Tandon Doss in the field

Edit: Specifically because Joe Flacco CHOSE him. I mean, let's give our QB the guys he wants right? Maybe he'll work better with him, he sure did in the pre season

Ok. By explosive all I meant was that he wasnt as used and as productive as I was expecting. Yes, he played well, just not what I was expecting.
Really, with no offseason and starting out as Nr 2 as a rookie I think he blew the doors off all expectations. Wait next year minimum probowl spot I see MVP, or superbowl MVP ect. With Joe's arm strength and an off season to get thing togther I can not wait. And you gotta remember the deffence needs to also think about Boldin, both our TE underneath and Rice running the ball. And I hope Evans stay and gets healthy bescause now you send him the other side of the feild on a deep post or something hahaha. Just need O line shored up that will be the spot we need on offense!

He actually looked good with the jets when dirty sanchez was able to get the ball to him. He would give flacco a huge target and can still pluck the ball out of the air.

I noticed cam called some empty backfield sets when we were in the red zone or close to it..imagine having plax and torrey outside..boldin and pitta and dickson/ray rice..that'd be pretty scary to line up against

After our playoff games, I am glad that the O-line and pass-rush are going to be a priority. The o-line got man-handled by the Texans and I don't believe we recorded a sack against Brady.

I was a little excited about Torrey coming into this season, but he wasnt as explosive as I was expecting. I think we need to draft a WR who is fast, as well as good with his hands and good at getting seperation. And a RS would be good too, although I doubt it would happen until the 6th or 7th round. We have bigger needs.
I believe that Torrey Smith is more explosive and much faster than anticipated. Although raw, he also ran better routes than expected and showed that he can be more than just a deep threat. If there is a shortage in WR on the Ravens, its the lack of a guarantee like Calvin Johnson, AJ Green, Vincent Jackson, or Andre Johnson. You know, that 6-5 type guy that catches any ball within is radius and goes up and gets those balls that are out of his radius. Unfortunatley this type of reciever does not come cheap and will likely be out of the Ravens price range in free agency due to all of the other key signings they have to make. That leaves the draft and these type of recievers are usually drafted in the top ten. So I really do not see how we will fill that hole. Hopefully Tandon Doss can grow to at least be able to catch anything in his radius and go fight to get the ball even though he does not have the height of those other guys.

Torrey has a 41 inch vert which is higher than guys like Julio jones, sidney rice, and Aj Green. So its not like the guy cant get above a DB. Also did you guys know smith actually benched pressed slightly more than Julio Jones did at the combine and he's 15 pounds lighter than jones. We got a freak of an athlete, hopefully they can develop him into being a fantastic Wr.

haha funny you say hes a freak of an athlete because there is a video on youtube of torrey back in umd with the football team in a gym..and someone tosses him an oop and he throws it down..someone posted it on this site a while ago but at the end darius heyward bay says "now you wanna talk about a freak athelete? torrey smith is a freak athlete"

but I was impressed to see him make catches in traffic where he had to adjust to balls. He showed improvement throughout the season by running a lot more different routes and limiting his drops. If we can get another freak athlete on the outside who can grab balls out of the air, it would really help this offense. I'm not forgetting about tandon doss though and even if we draft/acquire a big target for joe he could still make the team as the number 4 wr

LOL i know the exact video your talking about, think about though a 6.0/6.1ft guy jumps a couple inches higher than a 6.3ft guy that is regarded to some as the next Calvin Johnson.

Torrey Smith is probably the best athlete on the team.

EDIT: I was actually in that Gym on that day. But I missed the dunk.

Torrey is without a doubt a freak of an athlete, you can see it in his build.

Also in that video Torrey wasn't even trying... anyone that plays a little ball can see it lol. He jogged to the rim like it's nothin

Yeah, thats what I thought too when I saw it. Its great to see that not only does he plan on staying, but he sees potential for a few SB wins.

What about Decosta? What is he thinking after that. I don't wanna see either of them go.

I'm sure he knew Ozzie's answer. I think he has an intimate understanding of Ozzie's plans better than anyone outside of Steve.

My preseason projections for Torrey:

550 yards, 4 TD

he basically had that vs the Rams alone. LOL.
