Man, im going to get bashed for this one but what the heck. i dont care.

im gonna try and keep this short. im probably one of the few people who think this but i think we should trade him or let him go. now hear me out hes been great for this franchise but its time to let go. hey the 49ers got rid of joe montana and jerry rice, heck the packers had finally let go of Favre. Now im not sying this because we did so well without Ray for 4 games this year. Im saying this cause i had my heart set on him retiring after this season and he says hes coming is unacceptable to me and i feel its time to get rid of him and create new leaders on this team.

What do yall think and be honest.

I think it would be foolish to let him go. Saying he is the heart and soul of the team is an understatement. The value of his experience is immeasurable. The way he gets everyone fired up, and coaches everyone on the team is something that very few people possess. That rare talent alone would beg to have him stay as long as possible, and when he retires, immediately hire him to have some sort of developmental role in the organization.

Nor would I want anyone to have what he brings. He still puts up great numbers despite what people say about his age. Leading tackler on the team this year I believe despite missing those 4 games.

Just my 2 cents.

I stared at this for 5 minutes before figuring out how to respond. Let me just summarize my feelings:

No.

Ozzie, please sign Marcus McNeil (LT). It's all I want for off-season. Thanks.

Another contender for -100?

Seriously though, the Niners got rid of Montana because they had a more than viable replacement in Young.
The Packers got rid of Favre because they had a more than viable replacement in Rodgers.

We don't have a Ray Lewis replacement on the roster.

I'll play devil's advocate.

So you get your wish......who replaces him? Ellerbe............LOL

Don't come at me with a list of UFAs either because our cap situation is crammed as it is. There will be some painful decisions made this offseason. Having the stability and leadership of Ray is something that keeps this team viable and solid.

Seriously though, post like this should be result in some kind of punishment. Lewis is playing at a high level, is an exceptional leader that forces the potential out of younger players making them the best they can be. There is no replacement for that kind of talent and we want that here as long as possible. Leaders are stepping up on this team because he is still here. Look at Suggs. He became a true outspoken leader this year. Even the Emotionless Joe Cool Flacco is standing up for himself this year. We don't need Ray to leave for players to step up and help lead the team.

Also didn't Favre retire and then want to come back to the packers, so the packers didn't really let him go, they just didn't want him to comeback and deal with his selfish attitude.

This is the best part of this post. I'm sorry, I'm not one to bash anyone's opinion and you are entitled to your opinion, but that's just mind-blowing. That's going to be on Monday Night Football during the segment "C'mon man!".

The funny thing to me is if he was traded the amount of fire and hate this man would play with would leave people who questioned him in awe.

And Ray Lewis shouldn't go, he's one of our most consistent players

Who you replace him with? Why trade him when the depth at LB sucks?
