Per a report from Adam Schefter, former Colts head coach Jim Caldwell will join the Ravens offensive staff, most likely as the QB coach. (LINK)

Nothing concrete has been confirmed and more details will be released as they're available. The Ravens have not confirmed this news yet, given the late hour.

I personally would've rather had Hue Jackson, as I'm sure many would on here.

But Caldwell was a QB coach in 2001 with Brad Johnson at the helm when they won the Super Bowl. He broke some Tampa Bay records for passing yards, and completions.

And then he went to Indy as a QB coach and helped get Peyton rolling. So who knows what he could do for Flacco.

That's not a fair assessment. Caldwell joined the Colts staff as the QB coach in 2002, very early in Manning's career. He definitely had something to do with his development. Really, getting someone between the moron and Joe again is a very good thing.

This is.... acceptable. Coaching Peyton Manning is some great credentials. I really look forward to seeing how flacco develops this offseason.

Caldwell is a good coach, he's proven that throughout his career.

Thought he was going to Steelers? Interesting.

Was QB coach at Penn state, Tampa and Indy. Followed Dungy I guess.

So we get a guy who has worked with Peyton Manning for 9 years? Not bad. Guess this will be a great gauge to rate Flacco on.

Does a QB coach have any say when game-planning? If so, Caldwell strikes me as a fairly shy individual on camera. I hope when the doors close he let's Cam have it.

Caldwell was the QB coach in Indy from 2002-2008. During Manning's first four years in the league, without Caldwell, his QB rating was an average of 85.2; the four years after Caldwell took over, his average rating jumped to 103.3. That's not just Manning, that's also good coaching.

EXACTLY! most of what you see of Manning was Caldwells doing. I expect to see Flacco next season with a greater amount of confidence in the pocket and faster decision making. That would be a wonderful Genesis for him

He seemed like a nice guy, and he was really let down by the terrible Colts' FO this season. You can't build your team completely around one player and expect to have success. We really got to see just how good Manning is this season.

By hiring Jim Caldwell like the rumors speculate basically its like signing another kicker to put pressure on billy cundiff....only its Caldwell putting pressure on cam cameron I think this is picture perfect and will be the remedy to everyones headache from the ravens keeping cam cameron. If caqm cameron screws up he will get fired and jim calldwell will be the interim OC, if cam for some reason actually does good this year and changes up our offense and grows a pair when it comes to calling plays then so be it thats what we all want is our offense run better. Its a win win situation....either cam cameron gets his act together or caldwell will take over.
Bring em to bmore oz
Together....We can do ALL things
