Peyton Manning

I'm a big Flacco fan, but from an unbiased standpoint this will never happen simply because of financial implications. Our team is in decent shape capwise this year and if we release guys like Foxworth, as I expect we eventually will, we will be in even better shape. But consider than Ray Rice will likely get the franchise tag and although it will be a little less than last year for RBs from what I understand, you're still looking at 8-9 million tied up there until the long term deal is reached. I also imagine we'll at least make some effort to keep Grubbs who would likely be a bit pricey himself (but well worth it IMO). Throw in Flacco already making over 6 million this year (at least til he gets a new contract too) and all of our other star players like Reed and Suggs among other eating up a bunch of cap space already and there is no room financially for someone like Peyton Manning, who isn't gonna play for peanuts regardless of how much potential for a SB berth a team already has.

Hear me out first, the colts having the number 1 pick, probably getting a QB, there is a good chance Peyton Manning will be a FA, is there even the slightest possibility Ozzie might get him? if so how would you feel about it?

I joked last week about how it would be nice to have a healthy Manning as our QB for the next 2 years and it wasn't received well on here. I'll stick with Flacco and let Manning quietly retire. I have much respect for him, unlike Roethlisberger and Brady, because he has always played the game with honor and dignity. I hated him in the playoffs for beating us, though. In my mind, he is the greatest Colt QB since Unitas.

Ya if its Peyton when he's 28 without 4 neck surgeries. How much does Baltimore really want to piss Flacco off? I mean really, finally get a franchise QB after going 12 years with total trash outside of Testaverde when he was 68 years old and we just treat Flacco like total trash.
Yep. I'm constantly amazed at how many people out there are like "Dalton is already better than Flacco", "Gabbert outplayed Flacco", "Flacco is carried by the defense", "Anybody could come in here and win with this team". It's like the first 14 years of the Ravens never happened, it's like people forget that we once had Eric Zeier starting for us, or that we got Elvis Grbac, who put up big numbers in KC, and then he couldn't do anything here. People don't realize that in the entire existence of the AFC North, only one quarterback, Carson Palmer has ever thrown for more than 30 TDS in a season, and that was a long time ago. Quarterbacks just don't put up the numbers in this division. It doesn't seem to matter to people that Flacco led us to wins over the Steelers twice, a comeback win over the Cardinals, helped us sweep the division, because apparently Kyle Orton could come in and do the same thing.

I agree with the majority of you when you see that we need to get another big play receiver in the draft. How about Alston Jeffrey? He will be a steal if he is still around by the time we pick. I like this kid because of his YAC, sure hands, and leaping ability. As I've previously stated, Evans, Foxworth, and Carr are expendable. The high priced FA will break the bank when we need to sign Rice, Grubbs, and Flacco.

I knew one of these were going to be made. I don't want Peyton. He's a babied QB like Brady. and complains if things aren't going his way. I really dislike Peyton, and would be disappointed in the organization if they gave up on Flacco and got him. Also he would be overpriced and we would be giving up the future of the franchise.

Jeffrey's big problem, from what I'm told, is his work ethic. Raw route running is also a concern, and people are concerned with his lack of production this season. However, if the front office drafts him it means they believe he will be very good, and that's fine with me.

That's why he will probably fall to the bottom of the second round even though he is listed by NFL.com as #9 in overall talent. His production fell off a little this year due to his focus on bulking up and adding weight. This is in our favor. I'd really like us to use our first round pick for DE or ILB, but if we don't go for someone like Sanu there, then we need to add another receiver in the draft. All of this will be mute if we go after a receiver via FA in March. Flacco needs more weapons. He has the tools to succeed.

Don't want him, why would you drop a young Joe Flacco who has done nothing but play well, and win...for a QB who is 1 hit away from being done for good

No thanks, I'll stay with Joe Cool

Actually, I'd rather go o-line in the first round - Konz or Adams, because that's the area that most concerns me. But if Burflict falls I think we'd take him - somehow I don't see it though. I have a feeling he'll be picked higher than we expect and won't be there for us.

Peyton manning really? Peytonmanning? Is there one player in this league that we wouldn't create a thread for? Peyton manning is probably one of the last players in the entire league we would sign....

Cut boldin, evans, and foxworth, and some dead weight...I'm all for it. Our tight ends could be possesion and over the middle. I like two barn burners on the outside and double tights. We in da afc north and 2 fast outside guys like the steelers have for run cheaters can creat big plays and would actually work better for cam cameron. I like boldin...but calvin would actually be better for cam.

Megatron is looking at a contract exceeding the $120 million ($50 million guaranteed) Larry Fitzgerald got. Not are the Lions not letting him get away, there's no way this team would pony up the cash for him.

Mock draft shows us taking Cordy Glenn OG from Georgia with the 29th pick.
I can tell you that we won't take an OG in the first round. After seeing what Yanda did as a 3rd round pick in the same draft as Grubbs with the #26 overall pick, I doubt Ozzie takes an OG in the first in a loooong time.

There's Megatron. Then there is the rest of the WR in the league.

My name is flynismokidr if you wanna join me online on Madden and bring him in, since that's the only way this will happen lmao

Here's a ficticious example of one of those conversations and how I would counter it...

"(Insert QB name here) doesn't get to lean on his run game or excellent defense like Flacco does."

"Yup you're right. But it is as they say the ultimate team sport. There is no rule against have a good defense or running game to aid your QB. But I guess its Joe Flacco's fault that Ozzie Newsome actually knows how to evaluate talent, huh?"

"No, I'm just saying (Insert QB name here) hasn't had it as easy as Flacco has, he hasn't proven anything because his defense always bails him out."

"Then what is stopping your team's front office from putting together a complete team like the Ravens have been doing?"

*crickets chirping*

Exactly, it is the dumbest argument there is against Flacco. Joe, we love ya man, don't let the haters and the few Balti-morons out there make you think otherwise.

Manning to be Joes Backup?? It'd be too much money on the already expensive QB position
And take into account that Manning probably wouldn't want to be anyone's backup.

If Ozzie somehow could get Megatron I would be the happiest dude ever. He's by far the best reciever by a long shot.
I dont even want to think of that, it gets me to excited for no reason lol

For years i have dreamed of the person who alway shas our number, Peyton Manning, dressed in a purple and black Ravens uniform. Coming off an injury, and age, he probably could be sold for a lot less cheaper than he would be in his prime. Although i think there is still a lot left in the tank, the fact of the matter is this wont happen. There would be too many teams in a bid war for him. Joe Flacco is here and wont be leaving.

I'm not convinced that Manning will ever play football again, and even if he does there is no room for him in Baltimore. Not even considering the obstructive cost he would command there is no need for a QB. Joe Flacco is our Franchise QB and no one, not even Peyton Manning, is going to replace him.

Not going to happen. Would be a huge risk for us and we have Joe Flacco who deserves a chance to continue to get better and be our current QB1.
