Well, wouldn't it technically be saying we are living in the past because we beat themtwice this past year and we are on to another season? It doesn't matter what any of us say, they have done what we have not been able to do recently and that is get to a Super Bowl and win.

Wasn't Clark the one that Torrey burned deep in our comeback win in the Pittz this year?

Clark only had 1 interception this year. I looked up the picture of Torrey catching the pass and he and Gay were falling over each other as Smith won the game for the Ravens. I remember thinking that even if we didn't win in the playoffs that moment of sweeping the Steelers would be the highlight of the year. I took the loss hard on Sunday but now I look back it was a great season. We beat Roethlisburger twice.

...this wasn't trash talk, he was being interviewed and was asked a question, so he gave his opinion/input on it, which is generally how interviews go. There's nothing wrong with what he said, in the context of his entire quote it was a pretty general and objective opinion. Everyone acts like he came out of the blue and mentioned the ravens unprovoked. That is a common household analogy and everyone knows what it means, the journalist writing the article is ridiculous himself in trying to infer that he called the ravens bridesmaids instead of best man. That's not the analogy, saying "always the best man" wouldn't even have the same meaning, best men aren't typically always hoping for marriage (a super bowl) the way bridesmaids are typically always hoping for marriage. Basically, this is a non-article and a non-thread

I think some Ravens fans have a serious Steelers complex, expecting consistent SB berths. I joke about us being Eagles south but the truth is we have already won a Super Bowl. I'm 20 years old, not that old. If I'm old enough to remember it, then it really wasn't that long ago.

Truth is, we've only had a few SB worthy teams (besides the 2000 team that won it all, 2006, 2010, and 2011). It's not like we were some consistent playoff juggernaut like the Eagles, who made five straight title games.

This year was a massively missed opportunity. I'm not sure we would've beaten the Giants with our OL issues vs. their pass rush, but now we'll never know. The window is rapidly closing on Ed and Ray. That said, I think the franchise as a whole is just entering it's prime, and I honestly believe we'll win a SB sooner rather than later, even with the...ahem...less than fantastic coaching staff.

He is right, in one sense, but the saying tends to mean that being the "bridesmaid" is belittling. In that regard I would have to disagree. Going deep into the playoffs 4 years in a row and winning the division the most recent year is not belittling. It is a victory. Admittedly a smaller victory than I would like, but still a victory. I would rather have numerous thrilling and victorious seasons while we work our way to our next SB win than have a bunch of losing seasons on that same road. I guess that is just me.

After the end of last season, I was bummed out thinking "this was our year". Funny, at the end of this season, I thought the same exact thing. Maybe next year will actually be our year.
