Sorry, didn't mean to jump on you about that. The flacco debate just gets annoying. I wish we could talk about... you know... football.
Oh I definitely concur

I think its going to help having a Quarterbacks Coach again. I know the quarterbacks coach can't make players catch the ball but I think with someone spending more time with Flacco and the WR's, this will help with building more of a consistency between them. Note, it can't hurt having the guy that was there with Payton Manning now coaching Flacco.

Do you feel like we should draft a receiver? I have faith in Torrey, Doss and Williams... but Muhamad Sanu just looks so good.

We just don't have clutch players. We have talented people, but no one has that 'seal the deal' X-factor. It's quite pathetic and sad when you think about. To end the season that way two years in a row.

"It's a real strong possibility that it may happen. We'll have to let it play out, and we'll see in a few months. It's also a strong possibility that it won't happen. Do I believe in it personally? No. Well, maybe. We'll also be looking at bringing in new theories and having them compete, but whichever one emerges has to earn it's spot."

I usually don't say anyhing concrete until we get closer to the draft... A lot can change between now and April ...

Either way we will go BPA which I believe may not be a WR this year

I don't know if we will draft a receiver but we would be stupid to pass on a good one if we have a chance. The FA has quite a few very good ones too. Whatever route we take will be an upgrade from Evans. I was very disappointed in his season and the botched TD in the playoffs. I'm officially not calling it a drop after watching it many times on my DVR. Let Doss and Williams try for the number 3 slot, but bring in someone to challenge them.

Either way we got 800 and change in yards from him and at this point in his career that's what he's good for. Maybe more TDs, but considering he's the only credible receiving option on the team that's not bad.

But again, there are more receivers in this league that are better than Boldin than there are quarterbacks better than Flacco. And that's not just me, that's guys like John Clayton and Greg Cosell.
Oh I agree, it's just a deceiving stat becaue we are talking about some teams with 2 receivers who are really great (Giants have 3) and then 1 qb.

Yeah, there's teams with 2-3 receivers better than anyone on our roster.

But we'll improve as our young talent blossoms. As will Joe's standing.

Not sure if serious.. or trolling..

Rice Boldin and Smith had more drops... plus Dickson had a better stat season...
Yeah he had two dropped passes in the postseason so what? This is why I'm glad our fans have no control over our team. He's a second year tight end, stop losing faith in someone just because they screw up once or twice.

I bet the next time Dickson has a great day and Pitta doesn't, you'll jump on the Dickson wagon and hang Pitta up to dry.

Let's get some sense knocked back into our fans people. Please.

They had more drops but were also thrown to more. 101.

And I wouldn't take that bet, because you'd be wrong again.

*sighs*

Its true how sad the seasons ended, and it came down to ONE offensive play...
i mean, i'd say Pitta is clutch,
and we saw glimmers of Flacco reaching that clutch towards the end of the games with Pittsburgh.
i hope LaQuan or Tandon can be that clutch player we need.
Tandon seems to fit the bill, with his sticky fingers.
imo
Lee Evans was our Housh this year, and it's just sad to see it happening 2 years in a row where the vet lets us down

Rice and Q are responsible for almost half of the Ravens' dropped passes this year (7 each). Those really don't worry me, at least not on their end. It seemed to me that a good percentage of Ray's drops came on passes that were kind of down or away. But like you, if it continues next year then something is wrong.

Of course, we could have Roddy White and his 15 drops all by himself this year. O.o

Yeah, but i mean, he makes up for it with monstrous plays later on... haha

yes. i really do hope so.
If only we had the WR corps of the cowboys, or the pack,... that'd be a fun transition.

I think that the front office has identified receiver as a need. What I think we really need is a bigger receiver here - at least 6'3, but preferably 6'4" or 6'5". A big receiver is the ideal fit for the Air Coryell system we run - notice that a lot of times Q is lined up outside the hashes, and he is covered very well. As soon as Cam moves him into the slot, he turns into the Q from Arizona. Having Torrey on the outside and with Torrey's improving game, that should really help Q, but getting a receiver with size would really help everyone because it would make Cam's job easier and the other receiver's jobs easier. Sanu is a great prospect, and if he's on the board in the second I'd take him no doubt, but I think the third round is the best this year to find someone - I'd rather spend the first 2 picks on the offensive line and/or pass rushers.

First it was Housh who ended our season then it was Lee. STOP signing veteran receivers at the last second to fill the 3 spot!!! We need to sign one of those many FA receivers to fill that spot. I like Manningham and he could fill that spot. But just dont let whoever picked Housh and Lee to pick this next one, or cam!

Housh and Lee were both late additions, both added in August if I remember correctly. Housh was added because we signed Stallworth and he, predictably, got hurt - we needed a number 3 receiver behind Boldin and Mason since we released Clayton and Williams. Lee was added because the Bills were willing to give him up for what at the time seemed like peanuts, and I think the front office at that point was a little worried that Torrey as a rookie without an offseason would need more time to be ready to play. They were never intended to be long-term solutions, just temporary band-aids.

Although technically not a "drop", Evans' failure to secure the ball is the worst drop in the history of the Ravens franchise. Obviously it kept us out of the SB. And what would the talking heads have said about Joe after leading that AFC Championship winning drive? What sort of script would have been written with him and the Ravens going to the SB? Moving forward, how does this affect the franchise? I'm getting a terrible headache all over again............

we dont have clutch players ? Joe Flacco is pretty clutch to me, he has more times than not brought us back and put us in position to win the game
