I watched oher all season specifically and same with big mac and I personally think he played pretty darn good same goes for mac except hes sucks at containing speed rushers but gains control of them after a few plays or so....but I think oher should stay at RT cuz hes better there and I think hes undersized so I think big mac finishes out his 2year deal and they groom ried at LT cuz hes bigger then oher and I hear high praises of him...and I noticed reid struggled first preseason game but really seemed to pick it up there after but that was at RT so not sure how he would do at LT but we may find out?

Well, the #'s dont lie; as someone posted in the other thread, Oher gave up 3rd most sacks in the league. Not sure how that is playing well by any stretch of the imagination.

I'll be happy if it's Reid & Oher. If Reid can be our LT then that's fantastic.

As for the infamous 4-43 from Jacksonville...

Baltimore Ravens at 11:28 1-10-JAC45 (11:28) J.Flacco pass short right to D.Pitta to 50 for -5 yards (D.Smith). 2-15-50
(10:44) (Shotgun) J.Flacco pass short right to R.Rice to 50 for no gain (T.Knighton) [T.Alualu]. PENALTY on BLT-M.Oher, Offensive Holding, 10 yards, enforced at 50 - No Play. 2-25-BAL40 (10:13) J.Flacco pass incomplete short middle to R.Rice. 3-25-BAL40
(10:07) (Shotgun) J.Flacco scrambles left end ran ob at JAX 46 for 14 yards. PENALTY on BLT-M.Oher, Offensive Holding, 10 yards, enforced at BLT 40 - No Play. 3-35-BAL30 (9:33) (Shotgun) J.Flacco pass short middle to J.Flacco to BLT 22 for -8 yards (P.Posluszny). Ball batted by JJ94. 4-43-BAL22 (8:49) S.Koch punts 58 yards to JAX 20, Center-M.Cox. M.Thomas to JAX 27 for 7 yards (B.Ayanbadejo).

If Oher fixes these kind of situations, then I'm all for keeping him. I said in my post that I would trade Oher if Jah Reid supplants Oher as the RT starter. I still stand by my comment that Oher isn't fit to man the LT position.
Ozzie, please sign Marcus McNeil (LT). It's all I want for off-season. Thanks.

I mean i think im missing somethin here but I saw two holding penalties for 20 yards. Where did the other 23 yds he had come from?

I never said the other 23 were from him; I said he had a part in it. Come on man. There's no defending 20 yards almost back to back due to holding. That's ridiculous. That's the kind of stuff that needs to be fixed. You asked for some stats, and those are some bad stats. I gave you your objective data.

As I said and I stand by this: if Oher fits on our team he should stay, but if they believe he's not a permanent part of our team he should be traded.

Ah my bad cause the stat line I saw was 10-85 so I was like what's this 4-43 lol. Okay now that thats cleared up.

It was a bad game for oher but if you look at those 2 holding penalties. One was on a run by Flacco, which was a broken play. Not that it justifies the holding, but you know when a play breaks down like that, anythin goes. I'm not excusing the holding, but its not as bad a normal holding call. The way I interpret those 2 penalties is different. The one normal holding one is bad, and the one on the broken play is just unfortunate. He shouldn't have held, but its a broken play so im sure he was just trying to make the play rather than a misfire with the first call which isnt really excusable.

Just to get off Oher for a minute, if we do trade him what is your expectation? A second or third round pick in the next draft (assuming we trade him in the last year of his rookie contract).

Now you're out a RT - a need you have to replace. I mean you can throw Jah Reid in there, but i dont see how you can say he is better than Oher when you he hasn't really played in a good number of nfl games. I dont think there is enough to go on to say that Reid is better than Oher or that we would even be okay with Reid, but I may be wrong. However, I think the only playing time he saw this season was in the post when Oher was hurt for a play or 2 and I believe (have to go back and check, but Im pretty sure I complained about it) he got beat.

I mean you cant really say we will just draft a replacement, cause as youve seen its never that easy.

In my post when I said I would trade Oher, I said I would trade him with stipulations. If the coaching staff believes Reid can step in and play at Oher's level at RT then I am OK trading Oher. I still wouldn't want to trade him if we don't get good value for him. I believe Oher is worth a 2012 2nd round pick and a conditional 4th round 2012 or 2013 pick.

Oher is talented but if Reid can do it then why not go with Reid? That's my philosophy. The reason I am OK trading him if Reid can play RT as well as Oher is because I don't have faith that Oher can take the LT position full time.

Reid has shown promise. He did get beat some in that Patriots game, and then the next play he just had his man and didn't let go. He's inconsistent and I like his upside. I'm not the coaching staff, though, which is why I say if the staff feel Reid can do what Oher does, then I say Oher gets traded. My only concern is depth, though.

Well I agree with that. if youre back up can play just as well as your starter for half the price why keep the starter right? I just have a feeling that isn't the case here, but maybe next season we will find out.

IMO the best thing Maroney ever did for the Patriots was to bring back a 4th round pick from Denver which the Pats used to get Deion Branch back.

Every time I read the title for this thread, it makes me think Michael Oher started a Motown group. "Michael Oher & the False Starts!"

Off-topic, but I just had to get this out there.

oher was a first round pick. no way he leaves. they will work hard with him and he will be good. he is a fantastic run blocker. they have to teach him to listen to the snap count and not to jump on the olb movement. he will be fine though...

we all know that he isn´t the most intelligent guy in the world. who cares. you don´t have to be smart to play OL in football. just don´t be lazy and move your feet....

Oher is a solid RT, the LT position was a little too much for him...he kept getting off the line too early...he was good there but not great
