[Blogs] Ravens Sign Cameron To Extension

Im not getting my hopes up. John is gonna let Cam be his down fall. He's so worried about hurting a family friend, seems to me like he's willing to lose his job for him i guess.

Harbaugh turns out to be an idiot, he must be to keep Cameron. We will waste
next year with him here. They must be smoking wacky weed together. Seems the front office doesn;t have a clue in this respect. Sorry days to come for the
future of the ravens. sads sad sad

Cam is back, better chalk up another disappointing, or several, years. Harbs, if he fails this year, YOU'RE OUT.

Kinda of shocked. I can almost guess what play he's going to call. Still in shock he didn't roll Flacco out on 4th and 6 - seemed to work all game and gave Flacco a chance to run.

But that said, we still need more help at WR, too many games with no separation &/or dropped passes. Plus I think our Ofensive line had a really up down year & it was mostly down at the end. Coaching?

Can Baltimore please get a good offensive coordinator. My neighbor down the street calls better plays than cam cameron.

Why does the F.O. not know how to put any kind of consistently good offense out there?? We've never had a consistent offense, and usually, the offense has been pretty horrid (not with Flac/Rice, but you catch my drift). Why Ozzie can never put any kind of offense out there is beyond me.

This is fantastic! The downside is that we will have to listen to all the Cam bashers again for the next year. Oh well, gotta take the good with the bad!

I can't believe the best front office in football made this decision. This is a Jerry Jones move, one that will delay a super bowl run in the future. The play calling this year as in the years past (2nd half of last years playoff loss to Steelers comes to mind),never takes time left in game into consideration. Also a big concern is the frequent confusion in getting a play called and to the field in time. I thought the only reason he wasn't fired last year was the lock out. Four years and a still inconsistent offense is not acceptable and the OC is to blame. New ideas are needed to take us to another level.

I'm so glad we are not Greenbay, were the fans run the team. If none of you sat down to watch game film, then your opinion doesn't really matter. How you going to tell a WINNING organization how to do their job.

What happen in Ozzie we trust

PurpleDreams, you can't even spell 'words' right... thats just a facepalm moment, my friend. I've noticed something.... all Cam supporters are pretty low IQ individuals. Someone couldn't spell ridiculous right the other day, and now 'words'.... see the trend?

With our schedule next year and now this we'll be lucky to get to 8-8. Ray & Ed may as well retire now. This is pathetic. At least we get a little cap room outta this because Flacco won't get "Elite" money with his extension because under Cam he will never reach his potential. What a horrible week to be a Ravens fan.

cant wait to not go to the super bowl again. love seeing draws on 3rd and long when were out of field goal range and NEED a score.. seriously ravens are you [profanity deleted] RETARDED?!?! pardon my language but you gotta be kidding me.. this has got to be the dumbest move in franchise history, hands down, drafting kyle boller first round looks GENIUS compared to this [profanity deleted] abomination of a coordinator. harbaugh do you not want a super bowl or soemthing? cuz hiring cam isnt the best way to get there

It's kind of like last off-season. With the strike and no OTAs, no team wanted to gut coaching staffs, so we kept Cam for continuity sake. Now, with Pags gone, we're doing the same, for continuity. Too bad. I suppose Cam wasn't horrible, but he wasn't at the level as much of the Ravens' team. My biggest problem is his lack of adjustment. He gets out-coached too often. We had a great year, no doubt, but we were ugly often and never shook that, never got the train rolling like we could have. The failed third and shorts, fourth and ones. Stalled drives led to last second wins by the defense because the O couldn't put away lesser opponents. It's been old for some time now. Here's hoping Cam does some professional development in the off-season and gets creative with all his nice tools.

You would think that since the past two seasons ended on drops, they would get a good Wide Receiver Coach... See if Chris Carter would like to earn a Super Bowl ring as a Coach, a Receiver Coach for the Ravens... Who Coaches the DB's????

Everyone can complain but; this is the only sensible thing to do. Cam wasn't completely awful. Joe is getting better by the minute the recievers and him are developing chemistry.

Harbaugh has the responsibility to control the offensive mindset. I think they have a formula that works. The problem is when it's not working there doesn't seem to be a backup plan.

With Joe being more comfortable with his receivers and Ray Rice now being a seasoned vet. Cam has no excuse not to open up the offense. Making sure he does is Harb's job.

I think the real concern has to be special teams. Come on man we suck. Again thats Harb's job get a ST coach or light a fire under this one. Remember Harbs was a mediocre ST coach himself so his expectations are skewed.

Take care of the free agency stuff and I believe we'll be fine.

VERY SAD DAY IN BALTIMORE FOOTBALL, THIS WAS THE WORSE NEWS THAT TRUE RAVENS FANS COULD HAVE HEARD.JOHN HARBAUGH YOUR HORRIBLE AS WE CAN PUT IT NOW DESERVES TO ALSO GET FIRED.MAKING A DECISION TO BRING THIS WORTHLESS OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR BACK FOR ANOTHER PREDICTABLE SEASON IS A TRUE DISAPOINTMENT.WE WERE HOPING FOR POSITIVE RESULTS NOT THIS TERRIBLE NEWS. WHAT A NIGHTMARE. THIS WAS A TRUE BLOW FOR THE RAVENS FANS AND PLAYERS LIKE RAY AND REED WHO NOW WILL NOT HAVE A CHANCE IN HELL TO MAKE IT TO THE SUPERBOWL. LETS FACE IT THE RAVENS ARE ONLY A PLAY OFF TEAM LIKE I SAID LAST YEAR.AS LONG AS THE FANS DONT DEMAND MORE FROM THEN ABD SHOW THIER DISAPROVAL OF THIS DECISIONM,THE REAVENS WILL CONTINUE TO JUST BE A TEAM THAT MAKES THE PLAYOFFS. BIG DEAL. WE CAN ALMOST PREDICT ALL THE TEAMS THAT MAKE IT TO THE PLAYOFFS. MAKING IT TO THE PLAYOFFS IS NOT ENOUGH AND WILL NOT CUT IT FOR THE RAVENS FANS,WE WANT A SUPERBOWL.

DON'T EXPECT FLACCO TO BECOME THE NEXT TOM BRADY OR PAYTON MANNING UNDER THE LEADRSHIP OF CAM CAMERON. HERE WE GO AGIN ANOTHER WASTED SEASON 2012-2013 WILL BE FOR THE RAVENS.THIS NEWS MAKES ME SICK TO MY STOMACH. NOW WITHOUT A DOUBT JOHN HATBOUGH SHOULD ALSO BE FIRED, BECAUSE THIS GOES TO SHOW THAT HE MAKES BAD DECISION OFF THE FIELD AS WELL.

Same sinking feeling I had last year, except last year I tried to understand that the shortened offseason made a change at OC impractical. This year i'm just dumbfounded and disgusted.

WELL THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD!!!! I don't get it! He calls the same plays over and over again. The other teams know just what our offense is going to do and they stop us.Our defense cannot be expected to win all of the games for us. Yeah get Zorn back and let Flacco play his own game. He has done very well when left to his own talent and decisions on plays. If we're not careful we will lose him to another team......can you say "Indy"?

It's amazing... Absolutely, a good thing that the Fans don't run this organization.

Think about it people... We were 22 seconds away from the Super Bowl... In just 22 seconds we went from winning the game to 11 seconds from a FG to go into overtime... Call our offense "vanilla" and "conservative" all you want... We were RIGHT THERE!...

I have been chastised, and belittled, and told I know "nothing about football"... a sport I grew up around every day... because I support a successful Offensive Coordinator who has led this team to the playoffs EVERY year he's been in Baltimore.

Sorry if that offends folks.

If I was Cam I'd leave. Dealing with ignorant fans has got to be hard. Obviously, the Ravens organization knows more than the fans, and Cam has never been the problem. Cam won a lot of games despite the play of his QB. Now, they think the QB has made enough progress to get it done. All we heard was that Joe needs a deep threat, yet when he can't get the deep threat the ball, nobody says anything. Amazing, and the "teflon Joe" train keeps moving. Two balls thrown to Torrey Smith on target, and we are in the Super Bowl. Yeah, that's Cams fault.

I agree with most that I would like to see a change made here, but realistically it probably wasn't going to happen.

It's virtually impossible for us to justify a firing at a coordinator position when the team had as much success as it did in 2011.

Unfortunately, I feel that if we are ever going to get rid of this guy, it will be because we had a mediocre or worse season and our offensive looks terrible.

Our offense certainly isn't great, but its not terrible either.

Don't fool yourselves into thinking Cam is going to change folks.. he's had the same exact, bland plays for all of his coaching career. I looked back to when he was with Indiana in college, and sure enough, he had the same exact system, same exact predictable plays. In fact, they are the exact same plays, believe it or not. His biggest problem is that he's too stubborn to know when to adjust, and when his players don't fit his scheme, he tries to force them to do so. Any good coach does the exact opposites.
