Ravens Schedule....really!//!

176 posts in this topic

I don't know why we always play San Diego away, but that's the only away game I worry about. All the games are winnable, though. Honestly if the D doesn't take a step back, and Flacco of 2012 has the brilliance of 2011 + the consistency of 2010, and the offensive line is fixed which I think is an offseason priority, we'll be fine.

We get to test the team against good teams. If we can't make the playoffs with a hard schedule, we don't deserve to be in the Super Bowl.

I know everyone is moving on to next season... but this season is still haunting me... just seeing how everything is already panning out... Pagano leaving.. Cam probably staying.. really makes me believe this was our year... How likely will it be that will go undefeated at home again? Sweep the division again? This year felt really special & the Pats beat no winning team till us... and we gave the game away. Ugh I just really don't believe they deserve to be there and everyone is talking about the legacy of TB & BB. He played terrible but he gets a pass because it was a top defense... but Flacco gets flack for the same thing... sicking just sicking.
I hear you, no doubt. But I think it may be a case of just when you're ready to say it's over, the best is really about to start. We're a young offense and a consistently great defense. If there's one thing I know about the Ravens (and Steelers), it's that they know how to keep winning when the times are tough.

The Ravens schedule looks similar to the Steelers. The Steelers get to play the Redskins and Tennessee for their two easiest games.
Both the Ravens and Steelers schedule looks difficult.

I don't really understand the logic of punishing teams which finish with a good record with a difficult schedule the following year. I could understand tweaking the schedule a little but this Ravens schedule looks ridiculously hard, at least at first glance.
The difference about the Steelers schedule though is that they play the Titans and Jets while we play the Patriots and Texans, and they only play 6 teams who were in the playoffs which includes both games against the Ravens & Bengals. The other playoff teams they face are the Broncos and Giants. Ravens meanwhile have 8 games against playoff teams(Patriots, Texans, Bengals(2), Steelers(2), Broncos, Giants)

Duh! That what happens when ya win the division....not suppose to get easier. If the raven finished their per usual wildcard you all wouldn't say they should have a tougher schedule. And with the posiblity of manning coming back to the colts or elsewhere someones elses schedule got a hell of a lot more difficult. Plus chris johnson will probably not have a slow start and give people that play the titians crazy problems.

It's a difficult call at this point but to some extent the scheduling really irritates me.

For those that don't know, here's how the schedule is determined:

Each team plays home and away against its three division opponents, which accounts for six games on the schedule.

Each team plays four teams from another division within its conference on a rotating three-year cycle, which accounts for four more games.

Each team plays four teams from a division in the other conference on a rotating four-year cycle, which accounts for another four games.

Each team plays two intraconference games based on the prior year's standings. For example, the first-place team in a division will play against the first-place team from another division within the same conference. The second place team in a division will play against the second-place team from another division within the same conference, etc...
Strength of Schedule

We are in the TOP 5 in SOS (Strength of Schedule) for 2012. Compare that to NE Patsies who are 32nd and GB who get the 31st spot in SOS! I do feel for a couple of the teams in the top 5 though with bad seasons last year, they now have 1 of the hardest schedules in 2012.
SOS rankings:
1. NYG .547
2. Den . 543
3. CLE .527
4. tie STL and BAL .523
15 and 16. Cinci and Pitts at .500
31 GB .469
32 NE .453

HOME= Cincinnati Bengals
Cleveland Browns
Pittsburgh Steelers
Denver Broncos
Oakland Raiders
New York Giants
Dallas Cowboys
New England Patriots

AWAY=Cincinnati Bengals
Kansas City Chiefs
Cleveland Browns
Pittsburgh Steelers
San Diego Chargers
Washington Redskins
Philadelphia Eagles
Houston Texans

Why are you all thinking the worst with this schedule? I still see us going 12-4 or at the worst 11-5 still making the playoffs. It is a tougher schedule though.

Why is it always the Chargers? And why is the game always in San Diego? On the bright side, if we can beat up on the Texans again, then that crazy lady will have more things to rant about.

Everyone, make sure to buy your tickets to the Cowboys game. The last thing we need is for some bandwagoning Cowboys fan straight outta PG County to fill up our seats.

The schedule isn't shocking. We played well, we deserve a tough schedule. Welcome to the NFL.

Hopefully we play the chargers EARLY in the season, and not late again lol

Yeah, if we have to go TO San Diego in December two seasons in a row, I call BS. That's just unfair haha.

Cuz we play their division this yr. Last time we played afc west we played in b-more. Finishing place of prior season is alternated independent. Last time we played san diego based on finshing place was in b-more so in 2011 we had to travel to san diego. NEXT time we play san diego reg season will be in b-more for finshing place and division.

No, last time we played the afc west we played at SD and Oakland and had KC and Denver at home. That's why we have SD at home next season and are away at KC. That schedule posted is wrong.

Well I don't see any games that as of now looks like it could end up being the 2012 version of Tennessee/Seattle/Jacksonville. I don't count SD because SD out coached us in that game. I just mean specifically where we had no offense, though one game that seems to be sticking out at me as a potential Tennessee/Seattle/Jacksonville is the Broncos and the fact that Cam could set us up to be Tebowed late in the 4th quarter.

Because the NFL Loves those teams....But really it's just the luck of the rotation....who knows how Bad or Good a team is gonna be during any givin year....

Now the Dates aren't out yet but i'm guessing it will be in late april or so....Wow to me another hard season....

SD always has our number and since we have to go there again...yeah.
Pitt is going to be hurting but I figure we go back to the usual split.
No way we beat the Texans with Cam returning. We were lucky to get the W in the playoffs. Their D will only improve.
Browns - 2 wins.
Bengals - split. They played us pretty tough. Take it at home most likely lose in Cincy.
Eli most likely takes us. I don't figure our D to be as aggressive or dominant with Pees.
Cowboys see above.
We'll take the Chiefs and the Redskins.
Raiders at home - win.
Patriots...borderline, since it's here I'll call a win.

Yeah that's right, I just gave us 6 losses and a potential 7.
This schedule is pretty tough and Cam's bs will not get it done.
I don't think Pees was the correct call either. He is smart but soft. Our D will not be aggressive or dominant enough to make up for Cam's ineptitude.

Dang, so now we have to go in there again, and watch Norv Turner's version of Air Coryell dominate us again while Cam Cameron's version full of it's end-arounds just gives the Chargers better field position.

Looking at our schedule, how many prime time games do you guys think we could end up getting? I'm hoping for a small amount and most of our games our at 1PM. There are 2 games that stick out as prime time games, one of the Steelers games and the Patriots game. Other possibilities could be New York, Dallas, or Houston could be prime time games as well. I think we only end up with 3 Prime Time games with the rest either 1PM or 4:05PM starts.
