if we would have beaten one of those 3 teams, we would have homefield advantage throughout. terrible. we have to play better on the road next season

That's incorrect, by the way, if we had beaten the Seahawks, we still would have lost to the Patriots on the Conference record tiebreaker.

The Chargers and Titans I can forgive to a certain extent, but that lose to the Jaguars still stings. As soon as that game was over I knew if we got anything less than the #1 seed, we'd look back to that game and shake our heads.

i know, just sucks when you think about it. each year we're one win away from homefield advantage or a home playoff game

I understand where you're coming from. However, at least we had a home Playoff game this season, as opposed to the years past. I'd rather us not have to depend on playing at home in order to make our SuperBowl chances seem more feasible. It's certainly possible to have success on the road in the Postseason. The 2010 Packers and 2011 Giants serve as examples of such. While the Giants did play the Falcons at home in the Wildcard round, they also had to face two teams on the road who beat them in the regular season, both being games wherein they came out victorious (Even if the win against 49ers was a bit of a fluke).

we lost the jags game because of the harbaughs bonehead decision to go for an onside kick with 2 minutes left after flacco drove us down the field 90 yards for a touchdown with our defense playing lights out

It wouldn't have mattered had we executed the in waning minutes of the Patriots game.
[/quote]

Or it wouldn't have mattered if we had not come out on the first 2 offensive series running the same tired 3 plays both times. Perhaps we might have scored an extra FG or TD.

It's hard to blame the Jacksonville loss on anything but the offense when you set franchise records. Not the kind you want to be setting either.

we scored when we had to and joe would of drove us down the field to win the game if harbaugh gave the defense a chance to make the jags 3 n out

No, we didn't score when we had to. Joe Flacco did have a chance to drive down the field to win the game. We began our last offensive drive with 1:43 left, which is enough time to generate points. Flacco threw a pick on the very first play, so it wouldn't have mattered whether we would've needed a FG or a TD to win the contest. Yes, Harbaugh could've selected to hold off the onside attempt. But our offense was held to 146 totals yards and a dismal 2.8 yards per play. Those are horrific numbers. Our offense was in large part to blame for the loss.

the jaguars offense was just as bad flacco moved the ball 90 yards on the td to boldin why couldnt he do it again? we seen what joe can do in crunch time

Because he didn't do it again. It's not even a hypothetical. Joe Flacco took the field on a potential comeback drive, after Jacksonville kicked their FG. And he threw an INT on the very first play. It's not as if Jacksonville recovered the onside kick and ran the clock out. Why in the world are you arguing as if the onside kick didn't allow us a chance to have an offensive possession?

Every year, there are always a select few teams that inexplicably lose games against inferior opposition. This year, we were one of those teams.

because after the jags kicked the fg after the onside kick the game was out of reach

7 to 12 is not out of reach. One TD gives us the lead.

Like truth has pointed out, the defense did their jobs all game long, including after the onside kick attempt, giving the offense time to work down the field and score. They couldn't and it was the story of the day really.

I want the Jags game back. held them to field goals and Flacco/Cam couldn't march down the field for crap.

If we would have scored a touch down instead of settling for a field goal in one of our drives, The last minute of the game wouldn't have mattered, we would have won.

The Jags loss was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. I was finally done with Cam after that game.

Jags and Seahawks games were ridiculous, but we had our ticket to the Super Bowl in Lee Evans' hands. At this point who cares? Would you have rather beaten one of those two teams and lost to the Steelers away? Then we might have lost the division.

if you look back on it the season, you really cant be disapointed.. Yea it sucks we lost to crappy teams, but those were our losses, if we play this "what if" game, the main thing you can say is that we should have been 15-1, giving the chargers the most credit as being a good team
