Unconfirmed Rumors I've Heard Today

Our team is looking for a new QB coach, and apparently Pagano and Harbs had a screaming match on the sideline during our past two games... I had no idea.

In both playoff games? I heard about the Patriots game, but not vs. Houston.

People are saying the screaming match stemmed from the choice of playcalling on that last offensive drive against the Texans. No idea if thats true though.

I think the deal is Cameron stays so long as we get a QB coach. So Cam will probably be back.

Dean Pees will probably get the D-Coordinator job. He's Harbaugh's guy.

I suppose I can deal with that. Hopefully the coach is Hue Jackson. Who knows, if Flacco returns to 2010 form and the offense underperforms again, maybe then they can replace Cam with Hue. But as long as Cam is not in full control, I think we'll be okay.

If the above is true....Then my hats off to Pag, at least he has the <no veiled profanity> to say what needs to be said! You made the better move Pag, JH would have black balled you every chance he could.

We already tried the QB coach thing..as long as Cam is in control things will be the same.

JH guy's.......I can't even imagine that Oz and most of all Steve B. will go for B.B run around game again. As the Ravens turn...I can see the Soap show unfolding now.

We all love to hear the latest rumors, but please give us your source when posting them. Otherwise, we have no alternative but to assume you're just making them up.

I respect that. I first heard this on a local sports radio xx1090 out here in San Diego. I guess this link can prove i'm atleast not making it up: http://news.bostonherald.com/sports/columnists/view/20120126chuck_pagano_leaves_ravens_but_cam_cameron_expected_to_stay/srvc=home&position=recent

Well the thing with Preston is for a long time now he's been sort of blackballed from Owings Mills. Players and coaches don't like to talk to him, despite the fact that he's the Ravens Beat Writer for the Sun. So nobody's quite sure where he gets his "information" from.

Thanks for the link Cal, way to back up your comment, a lot of people dont. I know Dean Pees is well respected by the Ravens D-Line. He is known for breaking down video well and designing defensive plays specific to each team - each game, who's injured and healthy. I'm glad they are promoting him. I hope they make a good call with a QB coach.

I pray to the football Gods that the Cam staying rumor is more of Preston's stupidity. Please .. please ...

I don't understand why people are saying, "Well .. as long as we get a QB coach back, it'll probably be okay." How does a QB coach help fix the predictable playcalling, the antiquated plays, the blocking/protection schemes, the poor use of personnel, the lack of receiver friendly passing routes, the shutting down of the offense when Cam decides we have enough points for the other units to hold the lead (when he talked about that I almost punched in my TV screen).

This whole week just gets better and better ....

So what if they got into a screaming match... football is a competitive sport... stuff happens. Pagano got an opportunity to go to a team in the rebuilding stage so he can mold them to his style. Good for him. Plus if Pagano was mad at passing the ball late wasn't it Flacco that audibled to the pass not Harbaugh. That could be a case of John taking up for his qb something most fans seem to think he doesn't do... its all speculation when you don't hear it first hand... especially when it is now coming out after Pagano has moved on.

I guess Pagano knew that he would be a hot item after the season so he didn't care anymore. Tell me that isn't everyone's dream to be able to tell off the boss? One more thing, we Italians are known to have a bit of a temper. Hehehe.

The receivers were covered and the pocket collapsed. Flacco would have had a better chance to roll out to the right. Evans was streaking down the sideline. It might have been a TD if he didn't overthrow it.

Evans did look he beat his man, but that play is classic Cam. Pause at 0:40; not a single receiver or TE even sniffing the hashes. Q beat his man at the LOS and it would have been perfect had been able to break inside, as opposed to carrying further up the field.

One thing evident in this clip is that Evans has blazing speed. Line him up next to Q in the slot and Smith wide on the left and we will score a lot next year. I'm really sorry that I was so down on Evans after the game. He played his heart out and didn't deserve to be criticized. I guarantee if he ever gets another chance he will secure the ball.

Well, if Cam returns, we won't see enough three-wide sets for Evans to make an impact(assuming he isn't cut).

Lee obviously did deserve criticism though. He made some big catches, but failed to secure the most important one.

I noticed that too. When you need a conversion I really don't understand why everyone's working the sidelines or going deep. One of the many mind blowing play calls from Mr Cameron.

Yea, I wish I knew what was said. I've seen two uncofirmed reports that Pagano wasn't happy with Flacco throwing on 2nd and 3rd down and forcing the defense to get back on the field against Houston. I will say, I saw a post on what was said on the FootballsFuture forums that I liked so much that I no longer care what was really said. In my mind, it is exactly what was said. :D

By SnA Exclusive on the FF forum:

Probably went something like:

Chuck: "John, you better get Cam to pick his <expletive> game up because I'm tired of watching the defense carry this team!"

John: "Stop being so mean, Chuck! That's my Offensive Coordinator! He does his best, okay?! What more do you want?!"

Chuck: "I WANT TO SEE SOME <EXPLETIVE> POINTS BEING PUT UP ON THE BOARD OR AT LEAST SUSTAIN A DRIVE SO MY GUYS CAN REST!"

John: *stands there with a shocked look on his face*

Chuck: "Yeah, that's what I thought. My 7-year old daughter could run a better offense than Cam Cameron and she has trouble drawing stick figures. STICK FIGURES, JOHN!"

Okay, we are all sold on the notion that Cameron must go. Let's say we get a new OC who uses 3 wide sets, then we will be wise to keep Evans. If not, then trade him for a 4th round pick. Hopefully, he's still worth that. I'd have taken a few crates of balls for him earlier in the year. He started to come back in the playoffs until the drop. I'd hate to be him. The fans will be on him everywhere we go next year.
