i don´t get why a lot of people are okay with mcclain leaving. he called the plays when ray was down and put everybody in his position on the field. he learned a lot from ray over the years. he is a warrior. and he is the closest to replace ray when he is done that we have. some guys put more hope in an unproven college guys than they put on their own players.

jj will be missed if he is gone. some people might realize that sooner or later....
I think McClain of course is not Ray but he still plays with the same mentality that Ray does and plays like a Raven... everyone needs to remember to play for the Ravens you must have that mentality. I think out of all the linebackers we have had line up next to him he may have learned the most... he has battled to start beside him since day one and one day take over... KEEP McClain. I believe he can make that step one day.

I don't want to see McClain go either... I think although there will never be another Ray Lewis.. McClain is a very good linebacker and if he confines to play with Lewis until Ray retires he can fill in great... if we need to lose a linebacker I am OK with losing Ellerbee JJ and Ayenbendaydo(spelling is probably wrong). I hope we draft a good middle linebacker that can learn under Ray and take over NEXT to McClain when Ray retires.
I wouldn't want him to leave.

But I'd take that over our corners leaving (save Carr).

Plus, we have a pretty good track record of developing pretty much any linebacker.

I would bet many fans left after that AFC championship game... It seems alot of Ravens fans are angry and bitter now. The grass is always greener on the other side or so some believe. I have been a fan for 7 years now, no way I could ever root against Lewis/Reed, or Ravens in general, would be a tough thing to do I guess.
This.

As much as that loss hurts. And it HURTS! I couldn't root against the Ravens.

Will I ever be frustrated , mad, and just downright dumbfounded at some things that happened/will happen to this team? Of course - comes with being a fan of any sport.

But I'll be a Raven fan for life,.

Hell, I'm not even American; let alone being a Baltimore-native/ties to the area.

Or we can find someone else in the draft. I don't think Kindle is ever going to be that guy based on how this season went. There has to be reasons he was hardly ever active and reports are that he was having balance issues as well. I hope I'm wrong but it just seems like his injury affected him more than is being said.
Yeah I hope you're wrong too. That's rough for the kid though, I'm really pulling for him to come through, would be a nice story

Colts do need a guard.
I dont see us outbidding another team for Grubbs
It would be foolish not to do so. Offensive line problems are the last thing we need to have. I think Ozzie understands how high the priority is to have continuity at the OL

We can afford to let JJ go if the coaching staff is confident Kindle can come back and be the guy we expected him to be
If Kindle cant play next season, we need to cut him NOW, he is turning out to be the biggest Bust in N.F.L history, atleast in RAVEN Franchise.

Nope, that honor will always belong to Kyle Boller. Kindle, like Dan Cody before him has injury issues - Boller just couldn't play quarterback at an NFL level.

I wish the Colts were keeping Manning AND Pagano took Cam with him. I'd love to see Cam try to tell Manning how to play, and to never use audibles.

not to mention he moved from OLB to MLB and still played at a high enough level to be on the field. That says ALOT about his drive and determination

You need to read the article about Kindle... it was basically saying that he was having trouble with the assignments based on his hearing but with Monichino working with him one on one its only a matter of time before he will be ready... this I can understand because the Ravens use their linebackers for just about everything. I think he will catch much quicker since he will finally get a full off season to learn and get better.

Not just Kindle but our LB is pretty deep if we can return our middle LBs... especially McClain... and AB. We can let Ellerbe go.

Weed, I know the guy had an Accident, still, what was he a first or second round pick that hasn't played. We could have drafted someone else. So what i mean is, like i said before. Its a bust weather he played or not, We are still paying him are we not.

I wont have to eat my words because i said if he DOESNT play he will be a bust, If he plays, ill will be happy. Well happy if he makes a difference , i dont want a guy in there to just be a filler.

Well folks, with Cam returning I wouldn't be surprised to see the entire defense pack up and leave town.

I also wouldn't be surprised to see Flacco refuse to sign a new contract and take a walk next season.

Jarret Johnson, Corey Redding, Jameel McClain are some possibilites imo..

Maybe some coaches but I hope they raid people on the offense (aside from Wilbert Montgomery) and leave the d alone..

This post was prior to the article coming out and based on earlier information (or at least before I saw the article posted here). Hey, I loved it when we took Kindle. Was glad we extended his contract to give him a chance after his accident. I'm hoping I'm wrong and he's good to go.

I can see JJ leaving there or going to NY with Rex, but I do know that Webb, Cary, and Ellerbe won't be going anywhere since they are Restricted Free Agents. Looking our list of Free Agents, I can see Redding leaving(which wouldn't be a bad thing since we have McPhee), maybe Grubbs but I believe the Colts have a Guard, Jameel will either go to NY or Indy. I'm just glad Webb is restricted, that is the best part.

Will? Are you Grubbs or his agent? I see him as the kind of guy that would like to remain a Raven.

Don't know if it's been said yet, but we'd be dumb as hell to let go of McClain. Without Ray this season, Jameel was the leader of the defense that shut down three of four opponents (granted, none had elite offenses.) I definitely think we need to draft an ILB in the very near future, but McClain made a strong argument for heir to the throne this season. And here's one thing that must be made clear right now,

McClain > Ellerbe.

Sorry Ellerbe, I liked the guy his rookie season and felt he was unfairly placed in the doghouse, but he was getting abused in pass coverage this season (especially last week) and sometimes overpursuits if my memory is correct.

I have to agree about Ellerbe. I liked him more than McClain at one point, but it's clear that at this point Ellerbe has been surpassed by McClain. I still think it's very important we draft a replacement for Lewis in the draft. I'm not sold on McClain leading the defense in the middle.

Also, regarding letting McClain walk...

I'm sorry, but if we get into a bidding war for him between teams like the Colts, Giants, Eagles, Cardinals then we will lose him. It depends on what he values. We won't break the bank for him and shouldn't.

It's interesting to see what happens this free agency with four players needing contracts. Grubbs, Rice, Flacco, Webb. I hope that Rice realizes how important Grubbs is and takes a cut so we can use that money to sign Grubbs so he can get his yards. Without Grubbs Rice doesn't get the yards he can get with him. Grubbs will probably command 7million a year, Rice will probably want like 8million, and I guess Flacco will want 13million. Webb should get around 5million. That's a lot of money going around. I think it's best we get these players done now rather than next year.

you are right. i was a little fast with my words on that one. the thing is: i was thrilled when we got him. never in the world i thought we could get a chance to pick him. he was may absolutely favorite college player that year.

i am just sad about all the stuff that happened to him....
