[Blogs] Colts Hire Pagano As Head Coach

355 posts in this topic

My first thought: "Go figures."

Now, I'm kind of over it. This week has definitely been pretty crappy. I guess I'm just not surprised. If we don't get rid of Cam though, I'll be pretty disappointed. If it happens that Cam gets a new contract, that will truly be unfortunate.

Though I really wish him luck, I do think the HC job is gonna be too early for Pagano... Especially with a team that looks to be on the slope - and not up... They have a very good chance to lose their icon QB, most of their key players are old, and though they're gonna have a great rookie QB - he's gonna be a rookie QB...

I wouldn't be sad to see Ryan back as DC - but let's face it: it's irrealistic...

I trust De Costa, Ozzie and the Big Boss though.

First the Colts, our history, our other Lombardi, now Pags. I suppose Irsay will try to steal the aquarium next... Or maybe the inner harbor.

why in the world would pagano want to go to indy - i cannot stand jim irsay - this was like a stab in the heart - right after we just lost the afc championship game that we should of won by the way - and now pagano is gone - who is going to repalce him to keep our defense dominant - i hope we can maintain defensive dominance and we could go for the defensive linemen coach from san fran - or we could go with jack del rio - wander who is going to be our next DC for next season - can we keep any of them - we seem to have trouble keeping coaches around here

What the hey Chuck. I also think that Chuck should have stayed at least one more year, we were soooo close to the SB. I don't think he will be seeing one in Indy for awhile. He is going to miss our beasty defense!!!!! Anyway good luck!!

Relax, It wasn't Chuck that made our defense great, it was our defense that made Chuck look great. I loved the agressivness he had over Madison but lets face it. It was an offer he couldnt refuse. Almost every DC we have ever had has gone on to be a head coach. They were not great, we are great. None of them have had any real success elsewhere but a head coach job is the goal so I wish Chuck all the best. The players really seemed to love this guy. For that he will be missed. Ok, who are we going to make a star out of next???

Thank you Chuck for solidifying our secondary. For those of you thinking we will bring in Jack Del Rio-not gonna happen especially with John's ego. We are gonna promote from within again probably Pees eventhough Brooks is better and is one heck of a coach.

All jokes aside, the Ravens like to promote from within and Pees is a very good defensive coach. I think it's going to be a sure thing unless we can lure Mke Singletary from Minnesota.

Players make coaches great. Caldwell was great coach one year ago, when Mannning was healthy. Player gone, cardwel reach on street !!!! Lets see Pagano's luck.!!!

Well, there's some truth in it - but if that was the case, it would have made look Mattison look great, too... and we can all remember...

i realize this sucks but it happens, i remember reading an interview with chuck and he said becoming a HC is what drives him otherwise whats the point, i think pees could do a good job he was decent w alot less talent in NE but i think the players love monachino and he should get consideration to, sizzle been a beast since theyve been reunited

we'll miss him, but like Ray always says, Next man up!

btw...how do people know the difference in Pees and Brooks, and how good each individual is as a coach... we never see them in the regards we do John, Cam, or Chuck....

Well, I'm a huge fan of promoting from within if there's a good enough guy - it's always better to have someone who's not totally new, who knows the players, staff, place, etc... Who doesn't have to start by finding a home to live, getting to know his new hometown, etc... So, if Pees is good enough, why wait?

in a way i feel for him. he should have waited. its too much too fast. this was his first year as DC. i just think it might be too much responsibility for him this quickly. then again harbs was a special teams coach previously. i hope the colts never return to the post season. they can't generate success on their own so they always look for ways to steal ours. as if this already wasn't a tough week. w/e next man up. i hope the next DC isn't a softy like mattison

Report on www.NFL.com. Aww this sucks! I hoped Chuck Pagano would stay with the Baltimore Ravens as the DC not secondary) for more than 1 year! Traitor! Especially to Indy! Also, that Indianapolis dump can't get anything without us! Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Just as a diversion from the sting...

Imagine, if you will: Ray said it wouldn't be his last time as a Raven... But he didn't say in what capacity... Wouldn't that be nice?

This makes ABSOLUTELY no sense. why would we jettison our entire defense and a pro bowl guard?
Foxworth and JJ maybe...the rest of them are going no where.
If we lose Grubbs, it wont be to the Colts, O line is the only decent part of that team, thy got guys to protect Manning.

I meant to say these players will likely be Colts or Ravens next season.
