He has been a RAVEN his entire professional career...he just didn't know it until he was signed this past season. The Bone Crusher is just what the doctor ordered.

He's pretty much the perfect compliment to Ball Hawkin Reed. Dude is a monster!

Pollard is awesome! He is a really nice guy. When I met him (in Houston) I told him that I use his name as a verb. Players don't get hit, they get "pollard" He said that was cool.

Was he on a 1 or 2 year deal? Let's hope we can keep him and give him a 3-4 year deal. If the Ravens can keep Pollard, that's one less position to worry about in the Draft. I would say SS would be a need if we don't re-sign Pollard(if he is only on a year deal) but if he is still under contract or we can re-sign him that's one less need to worry about in the Draft, even though I would love to get Mark Barron but I'll keep Pollard instead.

Agreed, thats pretty much the comparison I've thought for awhile. A more violent, aggressive and better tackler.

I was a big Zibby supporter in the offseason, but Pollard showed great ability all season long. He hits hard and reliably, and he's hardly the liability in coverage that some reporters made him out to be. I love him at SS.

I actually came here to start this thread!! Pollard came into where I work today and I had the pleasure of meeting him and ringing him up for his stuff. I straight out told him how we cheered him hurting Gronk... he just laughed. I also asked if he was signed for next year and all he said was we will see. I enjoyed talking to him the little that I did and hooed I didnt annoy him too much with all the questions and comments but he didnt seem to mind. He was almost open to it which was nice. I hope the Ravens back because I love his physical play, he plays like a Raven!

Another guy Ive had the pleasure of meeting multiple times is Albert McClellan and because of this Ive been looking for him on special teams plays. If you go back you can see him right there on a lot of plays! He was right there when Williams knocked the kick return out during the NE game! I would love to see what this guy has to offer at a LB spot. Thats more just personal interest since Ive had the chance to talk to him a little more and each time weve talked hes really pleasant.

Just my two cents worth :)

Pollard was signed on a two year deal. Based on the history of the Ravens and free agent SS, I have a feeling he won't be re-signed when he contract is up. Then again, the dynamic on the back end could be shifting with the imminent retiring of Ed Reed after next season.

If it came down to keeping our corners, or at least Webb, I'd take Webb. I love the way Pollard plays and he's been a vital part to the defense this year, but he doesn't have elite coverage skills. With the way the league is heading, I place a lot more value on that aspect on a DB's game then his ability to lay people out. He's an excellent value player, and his play this season exceeded the value of his contract. Still, he's not an elite safety and could be in position to demand a sizable contract if he progresses in the system next season.
