Final Fantasy 13 - 2....

Anyone here planning on getting this? I know it releases with in the next week and am looking for someone to feed me on how this game is. The last time I bought a FF - 2 game, was 10 and that was like playing with Barbies, so I got smarter and will now wait till there's feedback.

no free world roaming. limiting you to how strong you can get until you progress in the story....not my cup of tea.

i've genuinely not enjoyed a FF game since 7. it was too good IMO, dont think any will live up to it.

I think FF Versus XIII is going to tickle everyones fancy for another masterpiece RPG from Square.

I think the real problem is every FF since 7 tries to duplicate 7 rather than be original. Heck, someone recently created this flowchart about RPG's that seems to make sense: http://pixeldripgallery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/RPG.jpg

I enjoyed 8 & 10, but every one after that has been complete garbage. I don't know why they messed with combat/tried it as an MMORPG.

Alot of people didnt like 8. I think it was one of the most challenging of the series. It was very enjoyable for me

It's linear just like XIII as I'm playing. The box claims that its free world roaming so we shall see. Graphics are beautiful, cinematic action is an awesome feature allowing you to control what happens in the cutscenes. I like it so far. Only played for like 30 mins though. Full 1080p is vicious!

I used to be a big Final Fantasy guy and FFX is still my favorite. I want to get FF13-2 but need to keep money for Mass Effect 3 and Diablo III. Quite a few good games out right now

Still no official date from Square. Seeing as the release dates between XIII and XIII-2 were about two years apart, it will be about half that. There ate already cinematic trailers of the game itself and the actual battle system. The fight system reminds me of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. I'm greatly anticipating this game as I believe its going to be the best story Square has put out since VII.

FFIX has always been my favorite. I don't see how it tried to duplicate FFVII in any way.

The idea that FFVII originated the ideas in that chart is laughable.

Way too much explanation of what happened in XIII. I have been playing for an hour and its way too focused on the past to let the story progress. If anyone else has this game I guess you know this will be the story of the game. The timelines....
