Matt Flynn

Don't know if a topic has already been started for this. Do you guys think he is actually starting material or do you think he is a product of a good offense and a good scheme. What teams do you think would try and get him.

Honestly after watching him, I think he can start in the NFL. I think Miami and Washington should both look at him. Both desperately need a starting QB imo. I don't think Matt Moore or Rex Grossman are the answer lol.

There's an old thread on this somewhere, but definitely a product of the system. Take those receivers away and give him different coaching and he'll look like Colt McCoy.

I fully disagree. Matt Moore is a pretty good QB and without him, the Phins may have went 0-16 or 1-15

Ya I could be wrong, but Matt Moore had that good year with the Panthers and than sucked it up the next year. I'm just not sold on him.

I believe Flynn is going to be a Free Agent, so there isn't much risk for a team to get him as competition.

You can say that for about every player in the NFL. Besides he becomes a Free Agent in March and we haven't seen Flynn in any other system other than Green Bay to be able to judge if he truly is a product of the system. Let's see where he goes first, and who signs him and see how he does, then we'll be able to judge whether or not he is a product of the system or he truly can be a Franchise QB.

Don't know about Flynn. Look at Matt Cassel, he's okay with pieces around him (and a tough quarterback, playing after an apendectomy, wow), but Flynn has started exactly one game in his career, and it wasn't exactly the Steelers or Ravens defenses he was facing. This isn't a one-year wonder, this is a 3-hour wonder so far. Could he succeed in a system run as well as Green Bay's, yes. But what if he goes to a team like Cleveland or Washington - who knows what will happen?

I agree 100%. With him being a free agent, their's no risk for a team to bring him in. I think the Redskins need him most of all. Unless one of the top 2 QBs fall to them. But I see the Colts and the Browns snatching them up.

Colts got a guy from the Eagles as their new GM right? Ok well you know what that means. It doesn't mean Matt Flynn, it means trading a second round Pick for VY!

Matt Flynn could fail in places like Cleveland and Washington but then again he could go elsewhere, be on a better team and succeed.

Well clearly being in Green Bay has something to do with it. He's not gonna score 6 TDs and put up 480 yards if he's somewhere like Jacksonville. For the record I don't think he's going to be a notable starting QB. But as of now you can't expect him to put up numbers like he did for that one game. There's a big difference between filling in for one game and being the focal point of the offense for real.

He sucked because half the team was injured

Meh, I don't know about the bolded part.... Calvin Johnson could play anywhere in any system, and still beast it up. He played with 3rd string Qb's before, and still put up Pro Bowl numbers lol. And same goes for Manning/Brady also.

But the other part, I definitely agree with.

He will be most likely a Dolphin because Green Bay's offensive coordinator, Joe Philbin, is head coach of the Dolphins.

In all honesty. If I was Indianapolis, I would be trying for Matt Flynn. Honestly, you do not certainly know what you're getting in Luck. Secondly, if they take Flynn, the can use that first rounder to gain a very good amount of picks and maybe a player or 2 to build their team up even better. Just my .02, what do I know?

This. Not to mention, have you seen who they got for OC? Mike Sherman, the old Packers' HC. It makes all the sense in the world for him to go to Miami. Of course, Snyder could end up throwing boat loads of cash at him, so you never know....

His story kinda reminds me of Kevin Kolb. I just can't imagine him being worth a first round pick because he lit up the Lions and had a good game against the Pats last year. If i was the GM of a team i would want to see more game time for him before giving as much up in a trade like Cards did for Kolb.
But if he is a FA the risk is kinda lower unless he demands 10+M a year

I think that he did have the advantage of good recievers, etc. But still, if he was average, he still wouldnt have been able to pull off those plays. He clearly has skill, and in a Pack style O with talent around him, I think he is a threat.

There is no risk because he will be a FA . I would be shocked if a team that needed a QB doesnt sign him and see if he can win the starting job.

I say Flynn goes to Miami with Joe Philbin and makes Miami competitive in the 2012 Season. Where do you guys see Flynn landing?

I honestly think Flynn could be recruited as a backup. I'm not confident that there are QB-needy teams out there who look to Flynn as their future QB. Especially before the draft. But if I had to guess where he'd start, I'd say Arizona. I thought Manning would go there, but it doesn't look like that will happen. So AZ.

I'm not that impressed by Flynn. He won a game, decisively, but I'm not so sure that was really that impressive of a win. I think what Miami does will tell you a lot about Flynn. Here's why: if Miami pursues him, that means he is something. Philbin knows Flynn better than any other coach in the NFL outside of Green Bay. That's why I say if Flynn is someone, he will go to Miami. If he's a back-up, he will go to some scrub team like the Redskins and they will draft with a high draft pick next year.

If I was a GM from another team, I would make an offer to him but see what Miami does. If Miami offers big, then you know you might have something. If they don't, I'd stay away from the guy.

Oh man....to be paid $60M for a few games and then most likely flop and do nothing is amazing. He WILL be another Kolb/Cassell. That's my prediction!

I say he goes to Miami, gets paid well and under performs the first year.

You think? I see him going to Ohio to a city called Cleveland. I think the Browns try to keep their 2 1st round picks and use their 2nd to pick up a QB like what the Bengals did last year. It just seems like their style. Probably pick up Blackmon since the Rams will trade & the Vikings will most likely select Kalil. Then with their 2nd pick either pick up a QB then, or use it to get a stud RB to replace Peyton. They could pick up a QB or RB with their late 1st or early 2nd round pick.

This just seems like then most logical thing for them to do. Again, it seems more like their style.

Yeah, I could see that happening also but my for still says Miami. Wouldn't be surprised if the browns pulled the trigger and who knows, they might get out of 4th place in the afc north... Eventually.
