That is a nice breakdown. I think that the picture will be clearer after the draft is over. I'm sure that there will be several cuts to free up space if the right free agent or trade becomes available to upgrade our team. I would like to see Rice, Grubbs, and Webb resigned. After that, it's anyone's guess what happens.

Foxworth is history.

Ed Reed, I LOVE YOU MAN, but dang, your salary is KILLING me!
On one hand, you could say that Ed had a statistically down season. On the other hand, if it wasn't for his picks then we would not have beaten the Texans. Does anyone think that he will be this offseason's sacrifice (i.e. Heap and Mason)? I know that this is a touchy topic, but now we've seen it happen it is not so unbelievable.

Nice, I've been waiting for a detailed breakdown of the cap to start the number crunching. It looks like the Ravens are in really good shape.

$107.9m right now against a projected $125m base cap and an adjusted cap of $132.5m

Project all the tenders are signed, that takes the cap to about $125m.

You figure Foxworth is going to be cut, which saves $5.6m. Lee Evans might get cut too, just because he's making so much as a #3 WR, which would save $4.375m.

Side note, releasing Cundiff wouldn't save much money and would create a bunch of dead money, so don't expect that.

So with those two releases, the Ravens would have about $17m in cap space.

That would be enough to re-sign Rice and Grubbs to extensions and still have some money left over to make some moderate free agency signings. They could probably make those two signings without releasing Lee Evans too.

I like the shape that the Ravens are in going into this offseason.

No chance.

They may try and re-structure his contract, but there's no way he gets cut.

Ed played fine this season injuries curtailed his game but he is a tremendous player ill take as many years as i can with a future HOF on the team i really hope we have Ray AND Ed back im guessing Ed is still in question idknw how much more abuse one man's body can take is the problem. Dying to see that confetti fall on Ed

A big priority is to upgrade our red zone presence. I know it's a long shot. Take the extra money and get Colston or V. Jackson. We will score more TDs and have a better shot of going all the way.

Can we even afford one of those dudes? I don't know. I think we should keep Lee. Yeah, we're all a little pissed off about his play Sunday but he also made some great catches and has consistently been the receiver that GETS OPEN (even in such a short period of time he had the chance to even play). Besides, with his injured-season and lackluster year due to his contract can probably be re-structured in some way where he gets a bit less. Neither Colston or V. Jackson are going to be taking anything less than what they made this past season. There is no way that helps us with a cap looming over our heads. Got to keep the talent and experience we've got. Try to trade D. Reed, Chris Carr, and Foxworth out of Baltimore. As Fly has suggested, maybe even trade Micahel Oher for another player or for draft pick. With those trades we could really make a dent in our offensive line, which is priority number one on the field. Off the field it's and OC. I think we're FINE regarding receivers for Joe. We have Boldin and Torrey, Pitta (which is quickly taking the place of Todd), Dickson who is fast but not as sure, and Rice who plays well as a receiver as we've seen. Doss and LaQuan Williams will almost assuredly get much better in this off season and have some impact next year, hopefully a Torrey-like season happens for one or both of them. But, if you just keep Lee Evans one could say we're "stacked". No reason to get rid of this guy.

Oline first, then Pass rush for team re-structuring. OC replacement. Those are the priorities.

He also deflected pass from brady to hernandez to give us a chance of winning. And No. No Way.

we are going to have about 7 million extra cap because youre neglecting to include other possible cuts like JJ.

We could make a serious play in FA for mario williams or if we feel like goin offensive Vjax

You can't cut Jarret Johnson or Tom Zbikowski. Both of their contracts have expired, meaning that they have no money associated to them.

This makes it look like Evans and Foxworth are gone. That's a lot of money between them both. Almost 10 million to be exact (9.975). They're as good as gone.

We may be able to bring back Johnson. If he gives us a discount he stays. If not he will be with another team or retired. Redding is unlikely. I think Zibby is gone.

To the guy that wrote that article....how is Lewis not worth 4 mil next season when you take into account guys like Lee Evans and Foxworth would make more than Lewis, and Lewis is still a top 5 MLB.

Some players could always take discounts to stay and play for a winner in their later years...its not uncommon, teams like the Steelers pull it off every year, thats one thing they do really well

the Ravens will be okay

Again if you go through this http://boards.baltim...mock-offseason/ at the end of the calculations we have 12 million free after not resigning grubbs and all the cuts and tenders. Should we resign grubbs though we'd still be left with about 6 or 7 million in cap space. This also doesnt factor in any cap space gained by cutting Lee Evans. So unless Im interpeting this wrong, we could make serious push for mario williams since the Texans are flirting with the salary cap need to resign foster among others and already have a potent pass rush without him.

We can make a push for Vjax since the chargers cant tag him and may not match what we offer. Altho I prefer the williams deal.

Now should williams or vjax want to stay with their team and take a hit to do it, thats a whole other story, but im just sayin we have the ability to try for it.

It's pretty likely that - because of those higher salaries - that neither Evans nor Foxworth will end up making more next year, and certainly not in Baltimore. They are both likely to be released.

There's no Cap savings for JJ or Zibby because they are both UFAs and aren't under contract for next year.

I addressed that flaw in my other post. Through the cutting of Evans and others the money needed is there should we want to make a play for williams.

From the looks of it, We'll be lucky to keep Grubbs. I really hope we are able to retain Evans. With a different offensive coordinator. I think e will perform better next year.

If grubbs gets the same deal Yanda did we should be fine.
Agreed but Im guessing he will be asking for more, but I am hoping we can hold our ground around the same amount.

I can't see us making any FA splashes and I dont think we need to if we focus on our players and possibly bring in some depth or veteran players at key positions like the OL and DL

We should keep Lee. We have nobody else on the roster besides Torrey that can burn people deep, and he finally looks healthy. If it was up to me, the WR depth would look like this:

Anquan
Torrey
Lee
LaQuan
Doss

I think drafting a KR should be a top priority as well.

We should trade for or sign Gronkowski, Revis, Andre Johnson, Jared Allen, Clay Matthews, Wilfork, and Aaron Rodgers. Then we'll be set.

I can't see Grubbs wanting more. He's played at a level similar to Yanda the last couple of years. Plus we payed Yanda in the top 5 for OGs because of his versatility to play RT in a pinch combined with Yanda's durability. Grubbs is dreaming if he thinks he deserves to be paid more than Yanda based on ability.

Some Oline hungry team could pony up more money wise for Grubbs, but in my opinion would be over paying. Grubbs does everything well, but nothing elite in my opinion.
