Pagano To Interview For Colts

Losing Pagano would be kind of crappy, he's clicked so well with the players....its all about money and if he really wants to be a head coach? who can blame him if he goes

Im not too worried, when your tradition is defense, when your leadership is so strong its not going to matter much who steps up, if anything they keep using what works and he hopefully adds something crafty to it

Chuck can't leave yet... Ray is still playing so Ray can't be on the field and be the Defensive Coordinator at the same time. Chuck you must stay until Ray retires(which I hope is 5 years from now) and that Ray is ready to be our Defensive Coordinator.

It's not a fact. Unless you know something the rest of us don't.

Personally, I think it's a bad choice on both sides. Colts are a rebuilding franchise with no management right now and not much talent to work with. While Pagano has had the responsibility of coordinating an entire defense for one year. I'm not saying he will fail, but one year as DC is not really enough to know, and it would suit him well to get more experience with that much responsibility before taking a job with even more responsibility. Maybe that's why so few Ravens defensive coaches have had much success elsewhere.

I see ole sweater vest getting da job. Why else would he be a consultant? I think they wanted to move in a different direction from caldwell anyways...and peyton going down meant they wanted the guy in house if possible. I think sweater vest got the colts job!

It's not like our D coordinators have even been that successful as head coaches. You'd think they'd stop hounding our coordinators after the things that happened to Del Rio, Marvin Lewis, and Rex Ryan.

thats true, you would think people would learn after like 12 years of trying. Its kind of like our Defensive players, they just work well here. LOL

Well so far only Del Rio is truly out of a job. With Dalton and Green in place and 2 playoff appearances in 3 years, I think Marvin is safe. Rex's 2 AFCCGs in 2 seasons probably also bought him some time, but if he sticks with Sanchez I think he's going to do down sooner rather than later.

So Indianapolis wants to take something else from Baltimore? Sigh. Why can't they just take the Orioles?

Marvin is safe after this year but he's had his share of turmoil in Cincy. Definitely not considered one of the better coaches. I'm just saying our D coordinators don't seem to work out in the long run.

I would like to keep Pagano. I am happy with the way he has run our Defense, regardless of some poor performances. Those were blown coverages and drops, not bad calls.

Weren't they suppose to announce their new HC today or something? I mean since it's already Wednesday, I believe that was when they were suppose to announce it. Plus we would have heard a rumor leaked out of who the coach could be.

I hope the interview went poorly because I'd hate to see Pagano leave. I don't think he's a good fit for the Colts anyway. After the Mora blow-up, Irsay has hired quiet coaches back to back. As much respect I have for Tony Dungy, he does not have the slightly snarky vibe I get from watching Pagano's pressers. And Caldwell always looked like he was about to cry, even at the Super Bowl.

The word we are waiting on is whether they offered him an extension or not. Having not heard anything about either him leaving or staying, until we do he is still our OC.

The Colts are pathetic, they want a HC that's only been a COORDINATOR 1 year. I love pags but really a HC job already? Just seems like the timing isn't right for him (to be succesful at least) as a HC. The colts are a mess man, I really feel sorry for them (no I don't). It's not even like they have any good young players. All they got is Andrew Luck, Pags would be committing career suicide to take that job and post a few 4-12 seasons and get the boot.
