Free Agent Wide Receivers

*Sorry mods, I don't know if this is meant for the Other NFL Teams section but it seems to fit well in his section*

Given that we don't retain Lee Evans and thus want to upgrade our receiver position in free agency, who do you guys suppose we target? Here's a list:

I personally think we need to target one of these big name guys, though it'll be tough considering we still have to pay Joe, Ray, Grubbs, Birk, Gurode, JJ, Redding, etc. But given that we can somehow make a run at one of these guys, who do you guys suppose we target? Colston and Bowe are my top two.

Lots of talent out there. That's all I'm saying. We have a few of our guys to take care of

Probably some low-cost guy again. Don't see us dishing out money for any of the guys in bold, but like you said, that should be the guys they target.

I doubt we will target any of them. With Ray staying and the need to pay everyone we will have almost 0 cap space + you have to add in that we will be signing players in the draft that need to be added to the team cap. I mean we could let go of cap to make a run but I expect all the big names to get 8-10 million dollar a year deals

Fixing the O-Line first should probably rank higher on our list than WR's.

If we sure up that front.. and Steve has leftover money he wants to spend.. I wouldn't be adverse to getting Bowe.

Otherwise, I think we're fine at WR.

Bowe... free agent... ugh I want him. I think he wouldn't be opposed to coming here either. He's a good player. He wants to win, and KC doesn't do much of that. If the price is right... but I don't think we have the money to spare for him.

It sounds so perfect though... Joe to Bowe!!!

I'm not going in to names but we definitely need some help at WR.

The type of WR's we need:
- A good route runner with dependable hands
- A big red-zone target
- A bonafide #1 (unlikely since they're so expensive)

Pursuing a big name free agent at wide receiver is going to be secondary to retaining Grubbs, Rice and Webb and others. I don't think we have the cap room to pursue most of the top big names

Jackson, Colston, and Bowe are the ones I'm most interested in, but I don't know if we have much chance to get them. Other options we have are Doss, LaQuan, and (correct me if I'm wrong) we still have Hardy. There's also the draft. Of course, like others have said, WR probably isn't the top priority. However, I think it's on the list of things that need to be figured out.

I liked what I saw from Early Doucet and Harry Douglas this season. Depending on the cap space available they may be players on the rise who could be had for much less than a Colston/Bowe type.

Spot on observation in my opinion. NE doesn't have Avery good defense but you would never know it based on our last game.

Bowe is a streaky player with some issues. I don't want to see him on this team.

Colston is my favorite receiver out of this bunch and I'd really like to see him on this team.

Given the problems with seperation and drops all year long, we are anything BUT okay at WR. We need to do something there.

But OL is priority 1A heading into the offseason. We have a QB AND a RB that can lead this team to greatness (finally). Protect them.

Agreed. Need to get the LT of the future in this draft, if not ILB or S of the future. And I don't know about Oher's future. Grubbs must be retained. Yanda is a fixture. Gurode can step in for Birk.

Also, however, we need to address the defensive front. I mean, maybe I'm overreacting, but we at least need to upgrade our depth and versatility at that position because we have been getting run on and it's not encouraging

This will be a dream.. right now the Ravens priority does move on to Free Agency but I bet they are more concerned with keeping their Free Agents. Rice will be given the Franchise Tag, and we'll have to pay him similar money to CJ2K, then Joe's contract is up after next season and considering the money given to QBs recently, there's no way we'll have any room to do anything in Free Agency other than low cost signings.

I would love to have Colston but I think he'll be a Saint yet again.

Too many of those bold guys have serious issues and I don't know how worth it they would be. I would love Vincent Jackson but you know his starting price is going to be something ridiculous because there's some joke of a front office that will pay it. Get an O-Line and just one receiver who can start and get separation against big, physical DBs and we're in business. Oh, and some special teams guys who are going to go out there and actually cover kickoffs and a kicker who can do better than the 70s inside 40, 25 from 50+ and 0% with the Super Bowl on the line would be lovely.

I hope not. No running back deserves that much, at least after Peterson's knee injury.

Everyone seems to forget the Pierre Garcon isn't that bad of a reciever. He's had some pretty nice grabs and is a nice rooute runner. Idk if he'll come cheap, but if he does he could be a great addition for the red zone.
