Candidates For Offensive Coordinator

Oh god.. Todd Haley in Baltimore? That would be a hilarious reunion for him and Boldin!

Honestly though, I don't think Haley is a good match for this offense. Who knows though.. just not sure if I can take another year of Cam.

It would be a dream come true if we could get Hue Jackson as our next OC and Jim Zorn as a QB coach again. The familiarity they already have with the organization and players is a huge plus as well as the direction they both seem to want to take on offense. It'd be nice to not have tension between coaches and players. The offense will improve so much, that's what I think anyway.

I think Haley is a good match. The guy has shown he adapts to his personnel.

And don't hold me to it, but I'm pretty sure Boldin would welcome Haley back with open arms after his experience with Cam.

I don't want Haley. Isn't he the guy who cried about us running it up against him?
I just hope we pick a better one than the Steelers, who are also looking for one. We may have the edge with Hue Jackson.

My grandmother just got out of the booby hatch a couple of weeks ago; I'm sure she'd be up for becoming the new Ravens OC.

First, he didn't take us anywhere. We won in spite of his sheer incompetence. Second, his contract is out. There is no firing involved. Third, Harbs isn't in control of firing coordinators if I remember right. Thats Ozzie's and Bisciotti's job. And fourth, even if it was Harbs' job, I think he'd fire him after this farce of an offensive season.

Hue Jackson, or Jim Zorn preferably. If we decide to promote from within or something, than WIlbert Montgomery is our best bet. I've been saying that in a few of these threads, since last year sometime.

He took us to the same place Harbaugh took us,,you know the team thing,, and Harbaugh has "taken us to the playoffs 4 years in a row".

Promoting from within is a bad idea in this case. Montgomery has been a positional coach his entire career, and a good one at that. I just don't feel comfortable promoting from an offensive staff that hasn't produced anything notable on the field though.

I'd fire my grandmother if she had called that effin' draw play. Seriously? At the edge of your kicker's range already and you call a draw play???

I've been a proponent for Haley for a while now but the best option is probably Hue Jackson because of his relationship with Flacco and this organization. His offense in Oakland was somewhat run-heavy with some good play action passes, exactly what we need. Second guy would probably be Haley and third I'd vote for Childress

I think I agree with your ranking system here. Honestly, I think Haley might be able to do a better job at gameplanning than Hue, but we can't bring in a guy like him without a good QB coach that Joe likes. There will come a time in his tenure that he'll start a fight with Joe on the sidelines and cause some tension. I really don't know how Flacco will react to that, if he'll take it and move on as he should or if he'll internalize it. A good QB coach could be the stabilizing presence that will make the situation work regardless.

Yeah, the guy's relationship with Flacco is certainly critical in the process, at least I hope it'll be. That gives Hue the definite advantage.

Remember, at this point I don't think this is speculation anymore, it's all but official:

At least there's something for us to look forward to! lol

Really the only guy we may have from within is Wilbert Montgomery, the running back coach. I certainly don't trust the receivers coach and the o-line guy.
We have an O-line coach? Where has he been all season.

By the way, do we address Andy Moeller at all? Ever since he took over our OL went downhill
He is horrible....... Addressed. Leave with Cam.

I'd be pissed if we brought in Haley. I'd rather have Cam.
If I had to choose between Haley or Cam.. I'd.. jump.

that website quoting another website saying that "Cam may be gone" is anything but practically official!

We can dream though

As much as Cam has been a bad play caller, he did give us the three headed monster of 08 and the screen pass king in 09. Last 2 seasons, we had no identity. To quote Chad Johnson "HUEEEEEEEEEE"

If I was going by that list Haley, but really I dunno if they would be any better than what we have right now. I think we should look at NCAA coaches, some there have talent, and some are looking to rise up thru the NFL ranks.
