He was out a lot of the season, so he didn't get to show his full potential.

He'll be a receiver to watch next year, I promise.

I still say he had that TD today, stupid refs.

Don't you have to maintain possession of the ball for it to be a catch? Come on now.

Q, Torrey, Pitta are building blocks for the passing game. Dickson has ability. Rice is one of the best receiving RBs in the game. The team spent a 4th round pick on Doss and they need to see what he can do. And LaQuan has some talent too. I just don't see the point in bringing him back.

It wasn't a TD. The ball was already coming loose as his left foot came down.

Rebuild the O-Line. That has to be priority number one.

Pitta probably earned himself the starting job at TE.

Bring in Hue Jackson to take over as OC.

Rebuild O-Line for sure, but I think Pitta and Dickson have both had their stellar games. It's still a toss up for me. That OC idea is interesting, but I wouldn't say it would be an improvement that is set in stone. Cam is OK at best, but there can be worse.

For one, I think JJ needs to go. I'm not knocking him for anything particular tonight (or anything recently, for that matter). I personally, like others, think he has lost a step. He isn't bringing the pressure to that side of the ball anymore. I'm hoping with a full off-season of practice and training camp Sergio Kindle can be a big pass rush presence. We'll see though. Who knows about that one.

We have a stacked secondary, and with the confidence they've garnered this year they will be a massive threat to any offense next year. Jimmy will receive a lot of benefit from training camp, too. Due to the lock out, he didn't get much this year. He had to learn as the season went. He's obviously going to get even better in the off-season. I can't wait to see our secondary next year. Plus, a healthy Ed (assuming he returns). Man, you've GOT to be excited about that.

I love Ray and I hope he returns, but he is getting a bit old. Like I said, I'd like to see something new in the way of LB's. Hopefully Sergio makes his presence know next year (regardless of whether Ray stays or not). Though, as I said, I think JJ is done.

Cundiff has to go. He just has not performed like a top tier kicker. He had a great season with us one year but it has not resonated into any kind of consistency whatsoever. I wouldn't mind seeing Graham return. If you look at his stats, he has drilled some 40+ yarders consistently. Although, as we all witnessed he doesn't have great depth from the kick off. So, maybe someone else. But, a new kicker is needed.

I think it has been confirmed that Cam Cameron is leaving Baltimore (IDK, saw that somewhere. I can't be sure). If so, GREEEAATT! If not, we need a new OC. Man, the potential this young guys have. With the off season coming up, training, getting healthy...AND a new offensive game plan with better routes. We are going to be freakin' tough. SO TOUGH! That being said, I personally think Lee should stay. He hasn't had that much time to show us whether he is good for us or not. Yes, he should have held onto the ball. He is a classy players and this part of being a Raven. Of course, that isn't the primary reason we should keep him. He has veteran presence. He's fast, and he has shown us that he wants to be a part of this team. One drop doesn't mean he should go. I can see a similar situation to the Flacco controversy so popular on this board. One bad game and the entire city is ready for his head. Don't do the same thing to Lee. Let him have a full year, and if he under performs next year then let him go. But, what good does it do to cut him? Who else are we going to go and get? Right now we have great youngsters on the team. We really don't need to spend a pick in the draft on a WR and we don't need to trade Evans (unless the guys is much better than him. But, who is going to be willing to trade for Lee after his season this year for a player better than Lee's caliber?). The only other option is to just cut him. What sense does that really make? We should keep this guys and give him a shot next year. We've done that for Flacco. We've done it for Cam. We've done it for Billy all year (gave him time to continue to prove he was our guy) but he proved to us tonight he is not. Lee deserves the same treatment.

I'm just excited for next season. IF we get a new playcaller who really can utilize this talent...man. I'm so excited. Our secondary was ranked 4th in pass defense this year. Next year, with a training camp. OMG! Dude. We're going to be a force to be reckoned with guys. It stinks we lost, but to make it as for as we did with such young guys on our team (who are going to be even better next season)....man, I'm ready too see it!

Cundiff: Cut!!! We were foolish for ever giving him such a big contract and he completely SUCKED this year. He can't hit a field goal from 50+, and apparently can't hit one from 30. He will suffer from Vanderjact syndrome from now on, cut him.

Cam Cameron: GET OUT OF HERE. Get out. Just get out.

Lee Evans: Maybe cut. Sign cheap, maybe.

JJ: He's good, but offers nearly nothing in the pass rush. Kruger, Kindle and McPhee can be had for cheaper.

Foxworth: Waste of a roster spot for several years.

I don't want to draft anything other than a MLB in the 1st round unless someone really slips or all the good guys go early. I thought this game severely exposed Ray's lack of speed and we don't really have anyone worth giving the future to on our books.

You're out of your mind if you think there's any chance that will happen. That would take more than the Falcons traded to get Julio Jones, and that trade was one of the worst in the history of the league.

CUTS/TRADES/DON'T RE-SIGN
Foxworth - Refreshing that our corners are playing at a high level
Evans-Make the catch man...number 3 receiver making 4 million? gone, this isn't a spread offense with a lot of 3 receiver sets
Cam Cameron-Monday he will be gone
Chris Carr- My least favorite Raven.
Jarrett Johnson- Can't rush the passer, isn't great in coverage. You dont start for just setting the edge and stopping the run. Need all 3.
Ricky Williams-Anthony Allen and Damien Berry can be Rices back up
Birk-Contract is up, good time to get young at the position
Jerry Rosburg-Special Teams gave up some big plays this year and in past years
Billy Cundiff-This wasn't the first kick he missed all year, and I feel his pain but it would be best for him not to be in Baltimore. People want his head and it's really not him who lost us the game. It would of TIED the game but not one it. Either way, i don't see him coming back

Sign Webb! It's hard to say who is most important to get signed first out of Grubbs, Rice and Webb. Get them all signed up and we will worry about Joe next year. For me, I would hate it if we let Webb walk. He is a great talent, a great leader and a all around great guy.

Quick questions here. I hear a lot of Ed Reed and Ray Lewis being gone or retired. Are there contracts up or is it a case of moving on? I'd hate to see these guys leave.

One other thing. If a guy like Peyton Manning is made available, would he be an option?

We should seriously consider cutting Ed Dickson, he's just another big game heartbreak in waiting.

Their contracts are not up, from the information that I've seen. Ray has already said he's coming back for (at least) one more year. Reed remains to be seen, but I have a feeling him and Lewis are tied together.

First round: Free safety if a good one is available otherwise go for the most dominant center.
Second round: Center unless we draft one in the first. If so maybe draft a corner that we can convert to a safety.

Maybe we can get lucky and get a guy like Web and put him at free safety. We do need help up the middle on offense. Wilfork pushed Matt Burk all over the place. Overall Burk did have a solid game though. He was manhandled a few times late in the game.
We nedd a new special teams coach.

OL: McKinnie-Grubbs-Gurode-Yanda-Reid
RB: Rice, Allen, Berry
WR: Boldin, Smith, Draft, Laquan, Doss
TE: Pitta, Dickson, Wilson

Defense (starters)
Front 3: Ngata-Cody-Pernellephant
Backers:Suggs-GOAT-McClain-Kruger/Draft
Secondary:Webb-Reed-Pollard-Jimmy/Cary

Although Center is somewhere we need to get Young, we don't need to settle for someone. We can still get a guy to groom behind Gurode. We also can find a left tackle to groom behind McKinnie for a year. Oher isn't gonna get paid like he wants to in free agency next year, and he is struggling in pass protection, false starts and holding. Let Reid step in. Lee Evans could stay around, I wouldn't be shocked either way but my analysis for Offense for Free Agency/Draft:
1. Sign Rice
2. Sign Grubbs
3. Draft Tackle
4. Draft Receiver
5. Draft Center

On the other side of the ball we have been a team that had a lot of question marks in the secondary. Now the question marks are gone and its just a period. As in a statement. We have one of the best secondaries in the league! And they are young. Cory Redding isn't getting cut or traded, I just believe he will be playing second fiddle to the Pernellephant. McPhee was known for stopping the run and struggling with pass rush coming out of draft. But it appeared to be the opposite in the NFL. With a full training camp, I don't see him not beating out Cory for the starting job. Depth wise, I always like to replenish the trenches, but I think we can get a lot out of guys like Art Jones and McKinnie. Ray will be making a return to our defense, but JJ will not. I don't hate JJ, I think the "underrated" label is overrated and the "Unsung Hero" just lacks some other attributes we need at that position. He excels in tackling and run support. One of the best out there. Cannot provide a real pass rush and isn't great in coverage. If we have our own "Von Miller or Lamar Woodley", we only get better because Suggs isn't the main focus of our pass rush anymore. So in Free Agency/Draft:
1. Sign Webb
2. Draft MLB
3. Draft OLB
4. Draft S (Reed is in my line for next year but I don't see him coming back. His health is more important)

That being said:
1 (29)-Burifict/LT
2 (61)-OLB/WR
3 (90)-Center
4-Traded
5 (148)-BPA
6 (177)-BPA
7 (206)-BPA

CARR UPDATE

Maybe I didnt explain this too well in the OP

He got a 5 million bonus spread out over 4 years. Thats 1.25 million/year. If we cut him this offseason his cap hit is 3.75 million. If we keep him its 4 million. The advantage is we can give a long term deal to someone like grubbs with a low cap figure this year and then have carr's 4 million salary (or 2.5 million cap hit if we cut him next offseason) completely off the books. No real help this year but it will help our cap situation moving forward.

We will also be paying McGahee a nice bundle of cash this offseason.
