Window Closed? I Don't Think So

35 posts in this topic

I don't think the window's closed (yet).

What drives me crazy is that we are a defensive football team. We consistently have one of the best defenses in all of the NFL, and this year it looked like out offense had all of the weapons to make a good run, and it seemed to go almost nowhere.

We should come back with a similar offense (minus Cam) and defense next year, so hopefully we'll be as competitive as we were this year.

Haha. Do people think the world is going to end? This is definitely not the Ravens last chance at a SB. whether it is next year or 30 years from now, We certainly have more opportunities.

They only say the window is closing because of how close Ray is from retiring and how old Ed is. Ray could probably play at this level of play into his forties if he wanted to. The window is just opening for this team. We are a team with solid young players who are going to be playing for this team for the next decade. Flacco, Rice, Smith, Pitta, Webb, Cody, Ngata, McPhee, hell Suggs isn't even 30 yet. The window is just opening for this team and now we have to focus on getting better, making sure we keep key free agents, have a great Draft and prepare for another try next season in order to get to New Orleans in 2013.

You're right there. 2008 was the beginning of a new era for the Ravens. We improved every year since then, and it's not because our HOFs are getting younger every year. You can never count out the Ravens as long as the guys that scout the talent are still here.

You can NEVER count the Steelers out (we all know that) and the Bengals already have a good team and have stock piled a zillion draft picks - I just don't see how we fit. The offense will probably look different (again) and the D is not exactly giving me the warm and fuzzes right about now.

jay...calm down bruh!

if we get Cam gone and get an O.C. in here that knows how to use his personnel the right way and is aggressive in his approach (meaning creative in his play calling) then our offense should be great! this was Torrey's rookie season...not too bad. Lee's first time playing with the guys...much improvement needed with this cat for sure. we need to make Pitta the starting TE...period! get Doss and Williams more involved in the offense. how about using that young truck named Allen to spell Ray Rice? the D? they played well in the playoffs.

He did not win. His team is not in the Super Bowl. He is not elite - yet, at least.

As for the window, I think it's closed, and it kills me to say it. Our O-Line played like absolute garbage the past two weeks, and we are losing a huge component of that in Matt Birk. I'm not sure what Boldin's status is, but I honestly thought it was only a three year deal. Ozzie always does well at keeping us competitive, but when we have to beat Pittsburgh again and worry about a growing threat in Cincy, I believe the window is closed. This year was probably our easiest road to a Super Bowl win, and we choked.

How can you say the ravens window is closed and then say the steelers are a big threat. The steelers are a lot older than us and in horrible cap position. The ravens have a lot of great young pieces.

A young qb that proved he has what it takes to drive his team with 1 minute left and throw game winning td to goto tje superbowl. (He did, evans just dropped it)

The best young rb

A bright young star at WR

Dennis pitta looks like a young todd heap

The best young core of cornerbacks. Webb, smith and williams

Suggs

Ngata

The ravens have a fantastic group of young players. The ravens just collectively need to make more catches and we need a competent OC
