Lee did not make the play. He catches the ball the game is over.
The most common sense thing said all day. Forget all of the excuses. We all know you do not put the game in the kickers hand (or foot) unless it is Matt Stover in his prime. But let's not beat Lee Evans up to much there is a human on the other side of that dropped pass. He didn't do it on purpose.

I have 3 questions/observations. When the Ravens first drive stalled, why didn't the Ravens try a HARD COUNT on 4th down to draw the Pats defense offside? If the play didn't work, the Ravens could have used one of their time-outs. What did the Ravens have to lose? Speaking of time-outs, Why didn't the Ravens use theirs when the Pats ran out the clock at the end of the First Half? My third question is Why did it take the Ravens and Cundiff so long to get on the field and get set for the Field Goal attenpt? The field clock is at 1 second when the Ravens snap the ball! It didn't look like Cundiff was comfortable or even ready! The Ravens had to snap the ball to avoid a "Delay of Game" penalty! I think this had alot to do with the missed Field Goal. Anyone else care to comment on these observations?

Well, that's it for the Ravens' year of promise. We had the Super Bowl literally in our hands and we dropped it like a box of rocks. Posted Image I have recently updated my list of people to eliminate...Posted Image

* Tom Brady
* Every referee who was bribed by the Pats to ingore obvious penalties
* Lee Evans
* Billy Cundiff
* The Patriots if they win
* Etc.

But seriously, on the positive side Joe Flacoo was a better QB than Tom Brady and we played an awesome game. There is no shame in how we played. Its stupid to think that we could have won by a made field goal and another one in overtime or a caught TD pass by Lee Evans. Oh well...nevermore

I'm not saying I disagree but even with the suspect non-calls. We were still in position to take the game and certain receivers failed. I don't blame all the drops on the receivers though. The O-line kept crumbling like bagged lunch (especially in the first half). It's not the receivers fault the O-line didn't provide Joe the window to wait that extra split second. So I trace some of the blame to them.

First, the Ravens boys deserve all the credit in the world for a tremendous season. They played their hearts out on both sides of the ball. FLACCO settled in after the 1st quarter, moved his feet, rolled left/right from the pocket and threw some absolute laserbeams (through traffic) for some outstanding completions. As far as the Lee Evans touchdown receptions, yeah that's right, I said reception. Go back and look at the play, he has positive control of the ball in the bed basket in the crook of his left arm, backpeddles two steps AND then has the ball hacked out. Ummm...hello...he's standing in the endzone...can you say the ball broke the plane of the goal line? I could not believe that didn't get reviewed (from upstairs, b/c clock was under 2 mins.) Billy CUNDIFF, just had a tough break on the field goal, sometimes the ball just doesn't go down. My hat is off to the boys in purple, you made this one of the best seasons in football for this Ravens fan. God Bless fellas and we'll see you next season.

As a Steeler fan that was rooting for the Ravens, my heart goes out to you. Tough to lose the ones you could have/should have won.

Keep our heads up. This is a great and young team. Our QB flacco is only in the 20's and same with rice. Our young wrs like doss, williams will step up along with our te's ( dickson catch the ball). We wil fix the oline problems by drafting linemen. Also, we got a great secondary and our drafted saffety wil learn from great reed and same thing goes with ray lewis and the lbs. We are a great team with so much potential.

Same thing as last year when Flacco hit hushmanzadeh and he dropped it... there was no reason a vet cant complete a wide open catch... no reason.. also no reason Cundiff would miss such a easy field... Someone needs to be out of a job next year... Cameron calls were piss poor, we definitely need a new OC please!!!!! please!!!!!!!!!

I do not fault Lee Evans! He had the ball and took two steps. Harbs didn't challenge because he wanted to save the T/Os,... That said, I would have called a T/O before Billy C went on the field to give him a chance to settle down. As it appeared he ran on the field, lined up and kicked!

I still hope Cam is one of our off-season changes!

AMAZING, Absolutely Amazing.... WOW. After a game like that... You people aren't even worth my time tonight!... What a GREAT GAME and a GREAT season...

Cam Cameron failed us again, IMO. Yeah, you lose as a team. but COME ON! When the running game started rolling, and the Pats are playing pass D, what does Cam call? Passing plays.
This is just one example of many times that Cameron has shown he can't call situational football plays.
I feel like he is what is holding us back from our much-deserved title.

Anyway, good run. We'll get 'em next year!

Please don't down Lee Evans, Billy Cundiff or even Ed Dickson for his drop!

Heads should be held high! We did everything to win the game and just came up short by a few feet!

We are the AFC-North Division Champion Ball So Hard Raven Nation no matter how many trolls show up!
I agree, we should be proud of our team this year, but it is those players' fault we "came up short by a few feet." I never like blaming individuals but its hard to take blame away from those deserving it. I like Billy and Lee but unfortunately it was their responsibility to make those plays. No other words to describe it but disappointing...

Not to sound like a disgruntled fan

Not to sound like a bad loser, but I thought that catch in the end zone was a TD. Cundiff, unforgivable. Joe, great job man! This will be a long offseason.

Please tell me why Evans catch was not ruled a TD.
He was stripped before assuming irrefutable control and possession of the football. With his body turning away from the defender, he could have cradled the ball out of stripping range and sealed the game. This is why I personally don't blame Cundiff. The game should have never come to the kick. Lee was supposed to have the awareness of how to best secure the ball after the catch and poorly chose to stand instead of cradling to the ground.

Our defense just didn't look all that sharp or we wouldn't have needed that last minute drive to try to win or tie.

Way to go Ravens on a great season! Flacco and Torrey both played a great game tonight! Next time Ravens need to take the lead early and keep it!!! They played a better game than the Patriots and should've won, and should've gone for a touchdown in the last play.

Joe Flacco had a great game. The defense played outstanding! Its a fact that Ray Rice must get an adequate amount of touches for this team to be successful. There is a problem though. The Patriots had a 31st ranked pass defense, we should have been more aggressive in that department. Evans dropped the ball in the endzone and Cundiff missed the kick, thats not what lost the game. Cam is afraid to use Flacco and these many weapons we have the way they need to be used. If I'm Harbaugh, I'm callin for a new O.C., PERIOD!

Next year, I want flacco to be the man of this offense along with rice. He needs to play like this every game and i belive he will. The receivers got to step up and not drop balls. Flacco keep your head up and work on everything with the receivers during the off season. Next year, guys.
