Worst Loss In Team History?

78 posts in this topic

Honestly it depends on the repercussions of this loss. If positive changes are made, then no I can live with it. If everything stays the same next year, then everything we fought for and accomplished this season was for nothing.

I'd say yes to be so close, the Evans drop was bad enough but 2 plays later a chance to tie it and send it to overtime, heart breaking.

I am not one for drama but this is the worst lose I can remember as a Ravens fan. All Evans has to do is make the play and we win. I don't care about the missed field goal. OT is a scary thought against Brady and I am furious Evans had a chance to be somebody and blew it.

I'm gonna go with yes. At least Pittsburgh was an opponent. The Patriots Defense is a JOKE. I can't tell whether that drop was Evans' fault or not. But I think it was. I think Pitta would have had it. And Pitta just got dry humped on the 2nd to last play. It was 3 plays in a row. First the Evans drop. Then the missed call on the so-called "defender" dry-humping Pitta and not getting called. And then the missed FG by Billy Bundiff.

A few non calls and questionable penalties. I saw a helmet to helmet to Pitta. The punch to Yanda when he was on the ground. Sam Koch got run into (worse than they just called in the 49ers game). The penalty on Webb that cost us an INT and continued their drive to get a FG was BS. The contact was that the receiver ran into Webb as he was trying to cut backwards that knocked Webb down. They did not cost us the game but maybe a tie.

Billy has to go. He's not clutch.
He's missed field goals when it counted. This isn't the first time.
Lee Evans can stay. He showed me something today. I think it was a TD pass anyway.

Harbaugh messed up on not calling a timeout or challenging the TD.

Normally I'd be a nervous wreck if not for the moral victory. I don't think the Patriots can win the Super Bowl after getting this beat up.
Giants/49ers are playing for their Super Bowl.

It was within 2mins and a HC can't challenge a play when the game was reached 2 mins, its up to the refs to booth review the play in question.

Now that's a good point. We should have called a timeout instead of rushing Billy.

I agree, but Billy should have been ready to begin with.
He shouldnt of even been in that situation though

Not a loss, a Give-A-Way Complements of Cam Cameron and his play calling. The guy is an idiot. You dont try to run through a line of refrigerators, you go around them, and you dont pass when you are moving the ball on the ground and controlling the clock. We could have walked away with this one easily, instead we are hanging up the colors for another year.

Cundiff? If you were paid $ 3,000,000.00 a year to kick a ball between two poles, how much would you practice? I knew letting Stover go would come back and bite us. It did big time today.

I didn't think they were ready previous years. This year did feel like the year though.

This one takes the cake as far as being the worst loss ever.........then the '11 AFC Divisonal against Pitt, followed by the 06' Divisional loss to Indy

Was our GM Drunk or High when he hired Cundiff???? This guy has missed more gimmies than any kicker I have ever seen. I mean are you telling me that there are no decent soccer players that are too old to run?

We went from the Best in Mat Stover to this guy???? Over $ 3,000,000 a year for this hack????

Billy Cundiff, thank you for your services to the Baltimore Ravens. You have been a good player in the NFL and, like most kickers, full of class. Sometimes you even made us forget about Matt Stover. But despite the touchbacks, your inconsistency and injuries are your doomb. This may sound harsh, and I know about pressure, but if you can't make chipshots under pressure, remember, the NFL means Not for Long. Good luck Billy! Thanks for a good 2 and a half years!

To have everyone healthy. Starting 2ndary was in tact this yr and the post season...wasn't on 4th and 5th string defensive backs. The chance...and to be healthy aka at full strength has been rare for us in key games over the years.

It sure hurts more at this point than last year's did, but what can you do? I agree, if we get rid of this stain (aka Cundiff) and rebuild for next year, it might not. Maybe we do make the right off-season adjustments. Maybe there are no more poorly called games. Maybe Ellerbe or someone else steps up bigtime next year if Ray retires and we're suddenly faster, quicker, and better (with a new OC). Maybe we destroy the league and we're thankful for this.

But right now, let me just say if I was on duty flying, I would call off. There's NO WAY I would act as the crewmember of an aircraft at this moment.

i agree. the fact that we lost, i mean was bad, but it was just how we lost the game. i was getting ready to jump off my coach, but unfortunatly of professional athletes couldnt make the plays they are paid to make. this game was terrible

Its up there next to the Steelers AFC championship game.
This game is nothing compared to Steelers AFC Championship Game - you had a rookie QB then. Its too much to ask to expect a rookie to get you there -- especially vs. a seasoned championship team (like Ben in 2004).

What sucks, is unlike say last year, Green Bay would have beaten you too. This year, the Giants and 49ers are no Packers....you lost a Lombardi today.
I can't believe I'm agreeing with a Steelers fan, but this is exactly how I feel. We would've lost the SB last year. But this year? Very winnable.

Tough to say. It really hurts because I believe we outplayed them, and to see the winning TD dropped and shank a chip shot FG is unreal, but I say the loss to the Steelers last year was worse because that game was in the bag, then all of the sudden we could not hold on to the football.
