Worst Loss In Team History?

78 posts in this topic

Hmm the loss hurts because we had a chance at the end. But it's not a shame to lose to the Pats, not many of us counted on us to win.

WHY didnt you guys just take the delay of game?? i dont understand.

Why rush a kick when you can just take a 5 yarder and get a better chance at a fieldgoal?

He was running on the field and got the kick off right at the last second.

Yea is say so. It's worst than last year's because the game ended on a dropped pass, but atleast it wasn't in the endzone like this year's. But atleast confirmed on a big stage that he is the man.

Not for Billy. 5 yards would've made it worse. The closer the better.

Fact is Billy has had only 1 good year in his career (that has now proven to be a misnomer). He missed a pressure kick against Minny back a while ago. Its time for Billy to go. We just can't trust him in a high pressure situation.

Now that's a good point. We should have called a timeout instead of rushing Billy.

I don't know if you're referring to another game but Hauschka was the one that missed the kick against the Vikings.

Regardless, I agree that Cundiff has to go. What he does in terms of touchbacks doesn't outweigh his misses in big-time situations.

This is definitely the worst. Last season was pretty bad, but to drop the game winning TD and miss the tying FG, back to back. Such an absurd choke job.

I'm not sure if history will show this to be the worst loss, but it certainly hurts the most right now because everything had gone right except the final play. Even Flacco's interception wasn't so bad in the long scheme of things.

Right now the loss from Pitt last year hurts more. Get back to me in a week once the dust has settled to see how I feel.

This is the worst. Last season we dropped a fourth down conversion to lose. Boldin dropped a TD, but it wasn't the game winner because there was time left. We had the game in our hands, in Lee Evans' hands. Flacco's redemption was there, and then we a chance to save it from Cundiff which we all ASSUMED would go in!

Nah I'll say last year against Pitt because we were up by so much and it was the Steelers after all. This one is a close 2nd though. The pats are lucky bums they didn't out play us whatsoever. It's sick to think Flacco outplayed Brady and we still lost.

Most disappointing loss? yes. worst loss? no. We were the better team in this one and if Evans controlled the ball, or Rice showed up for 60, or Cam called a few plays better we win. It sucks that it came down to a cundiff field goal.

But Joe handled that defense (ranked 31) and Rice didnt (ranked 31). Im sure billy feels like crap so im not gonna attack him.

I don't know how Cundiff missed that kick. I mean, really, it was an easy kick for him. It's not like we had 50MPH winds or anything. Cundiff just choked and didn't make anything happen and lost us the game.

I'm sure someone will blame Flacco for the botched kick.

The worst lost in team history was Pittsburgh. There is nothing worse than losing to your rival, especially with the chance to go to the Super Bowl.

This game certainly hurts.

But the thing that scares me the most is what will probably result in this offseason. Perhaps with the loss of Ray or Ed, or both.

I have a weird feeling. I'm not really sad or angry, I think I'm still in shock. But damn I couldn't be more proud to call myself a Ravens fan.

Yep. We played great, but a failure. But dunno, last year vs Pitt was horrible.
[/quote]

Yeah, last years loss was heartbreaking but we got beat. Today we beat ourselves, twice - on the last two plays. History may end up showing that the Patriots with Belichek and Brady are the best team in history during this modern era (probably), so beating them means a lot. Besides Green Bay and Saints are out. I think the 49ers and Giants are beatable. Another arguement is this team may have given us our best chance to get Ray and Ed one last ring. We could have won it in Indy this year, how sweet would that have been. Harbs vs. Harbs Super Bowl? (they have 7 point lead) And wasn't Skip Bayless supposed to wear a Flacco jersey tomorrow? The list goes on.

Billy has to go. He's not clutch.
He's missed field goals when it counted. This isn't the first time.
Lee Evans can stay. He showed me something today. I think it was a TD pass anyway.

Harbaugh messed up on not calling a timeout or challenging the TD.

Normally I'd be a nervous wreck if not for the moral victory. I don't think the Patriots can win the Super Bowl after getting this beat up.
Giants/49ers are playing for their Super Bowl.

Without a doubt this hurts more, playing in Pittsburgh that day we were never on a roll offensively and if we'd won that game I would have thought we got away with murder. Today's was just wow, we held Brady to 240 yards and 0TDs 2ints, Flacco played the best Ive ever seen out of him, CAMERON of all people actually designed a great gameplan, our defense made a CRITICAL stop when all hope was lost it seemed. Flacco was going to beat BRADY AT HOME on a last second drive!? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? AND WE LOSE LIKE THAT?!?

Catch the damn ball Evans, do your damn job Cundiff, friggen plugs.
