Season Success Or Failure

I can't believe it. We can never make the clutch plays. Joe got us in a place to tie.. even to win with that throw to Evans. I can't believe it.

Overall failure - we didn't achieve our ultimate goal. But there were a lot of successes in the season. I'm still in shock, 32 yards.

No matter what happens with Cameron, it's a failure. This team had what it takes to get to the Super Bowl and then Cundiff(and Evans to a lesser extent) blundered it.

I would say Evans to a larger extent, since it was a perfect pass and it was for the win and not the tie, just terrible.

FAILURE. UNBELIEVABLE.

If Cameron, Lee Evans, and Cundiff aren't gone, I'm not a Ravens fan next year.

Hyperbole obviously, but if these 3 aren't gone, the Ravens don't want to win.

WHAT THE HELL EVANS. WHAT THE HELL CUNDIFF. WHAT THE HELL CUNDIFF.

Even falling short, I consider this season a success.

Yes, this loss will sting for a long, long time to come. I feel physically ill right now. I haven't felt this horrible about a loss in years, if not ever.

But this team accomplished more than we imagined at the start of the season. They finally began to play to their potential, albeit inconsistently. And most of all, they got over every single hurdle from years past except getting into the Super Bowl.

So let it hurt today, and tomorrow, and for the next few days. But be proud of what our team has done. Be proud of the effort they showed in the national spotlight. Above all, be proud that this team went toe-to-toe with an elite team like the Patriots and made them look human.

Failure. We've already been in the AFCCG. If we won 4 games the year prior and improved this much I might think otherwise. Amazing how one bad play, one bad kick, one bad drop is the difference between going to the Superbowl and another heartbreak. This stings. We're never the team that gets that extra lucky break. Ever. We deserve better. This defense held the team that scored 7 TDs the week prior to 2 TDs and 3 FGs. Joe Flacco played lights out, and did everything he could to win. It should have been enough.

Complete, utter failure. It's worse to be beaten by our own incompetance than it is to not even make it into the dance.

Still a success. We proved we could play with the Big Dogs. Joe proved he is playoff caliber QB today. We were one 'hold onto' the catch away from the Super Bowl.

I know everyone wants to say failure. But the loss is fresh.

Everything about Joe was clutch in that game. The plays were clutch, the final play wasn't.

Failure. This WAS our year. Yeah if we were a team like San Fran, Denver, or Houston, OK. The window is almost shut on Ray and Ed. I attrubute bitter end to:
Can Cam
Lee Evans
And Billy Cundiff chocking
Hate to give Baby the satisfaction.

I'd say it was a great season. Yea, as usual it came down to a few boneheaded plays and those idiotic Patriots fans get to crow for another year. All I know is that we did our best (ya know, except Cundiff) and I'd count this season as a success, overall.

I'm ticked that the Evans play didn't get reviewed. Caught, 2 feet down, turn in then the ball was knowcked loose. I think it should have been a catch. How many feet down is required to be a TD? He wasn't actually touched until both feet were down and he made a football move.

The season is a failure. The team was inconsistant, had some horrific losses during the regular season, no identity on offense (mostly due to Cam Cameron's play calling, and even the defense started looking old at times. The dropped TD and the missed FG were the toppings on a season that fell short.

It's a failure. There is no success from this. Had we been the Broncos or some other highly underrated, highly unfavored team, we'd probably consider this a success. But we had every in place for a run and we screwed up.

This season was a success, but it ended in a failure. The goal is to make it to the Super Bowl. That's undeniable; however, it doesn't mean that we failed by not making it. What constitutes failure is when you keep failing. I'm happy to have been able to watch Baltimore football into January, unlike a lot of other teams in the NFL.

I'm proud of our team and the way they played. If not for a missed field goal, a bad idea to go for it on 4-6 rather than kick a field goal, and a dropped sure TD pass in the end zone, we would have been in the Super Bowl. Alas, we didn't make it.

I disagree that the window has closed. We can still make it next year. I believe Reed and Lewis will be here next year. We still have a chance. I believe we will make the adjustments we need to make, and next year I believe we will have the #1 seed in the AFC.

If you keep knocking at the door you will get an answer eventually.

Great job, Ravens!
