Pretty Good Article On Flacco From KVV, Baltimore Sun

37 posts in this topic

Thank You Thank You Thank You Well written outside the box view. As a native of Baltimore i know that the rest of the country views Baltimore as a whisle stop between New York and Washington, A bunch of red necked blue coller strong backs. I say thats right we are and Dam# proud of it. Back a few years ago we had a blue coller QB who didn't have all tools, was slow, his passes looked like ducks sometimes and throwed a few int's. He worked out preaty good here. The reason John was so good was not because it came naturally it was because him and Berry worked at it, time after time after time. I have the same feeling when i look at Joe. Maybe not the most talented maybe not most polished but he works hard and he is Bluecoller. Our Kind of Quarterback. So just like in my family i can fight with him but the rest of the world had better leave him the He!! alone.

Mod's please don't merge this one

I agree with that article.
Joe is very good, not great, but very good. He gets the job done. No more no less. ( most of the time )

I have a jumbo Wendys Frosty that says one of his best games is tomorrow.

I hope and pray that Joe has a monster game today. He deserves to get all of the crap off of his back.

I love this article, but there is one thing I hate about it. I think Joe actually does have the potential to be an elite qb in this league. Not an elite game manage or Troy Aikman type (nothing wrong with that at all), but an elite qb. The problem is A. Cam has to go (although that wont be a quick fix). B. There will be an adjustment/learning period (but hey even rodgers has this when he took over the team). I dont think you can make a judgment about what kind of qb flacco is going to be until he is given a chance to run the offense to some degree and mature into a team leader, not just an offensive one.

Completely agree. I liked the article mostly, didn't love it because I too disagree that Joe is only destined to be a game manager. I see the promise of an elite QB in the making despite his short comings. I don't understand why it's seems to be so conclusive that Joe will only ever be average at best. I feel that that's an insult to him and if I were him reading it, although I could appreciate the sentiment of the piece, I would also feel slighted. To me he's more than a game manager, he's a playmaker who is very clutch. I think we tweak a few things offensively, play and personel wise, to make it conducive to his progression, and he and the defense can shoot us to the moon.

Great article, hit the nail right on the head when it comes to Joe. Joe's a pretty darn good quarterback who gets the job done. Mods don't merge this because people need to read this article.

I still think Joe hasn't even reached his peak, guys develop at different rates

I look at Drew Brees as a prime example, once he got away from Cam Cameron and got to New Orleans he took off before that though he had comparable numbers to Joe Flacco and Eli Manning, etc
