Last year, Flacco put in a more impressive performance against a more difficult defense on the road than Alex Smith just turned in at home last weekend.

Now tell me why Flacco has never and never will broken out in the Playoffs yet Smith has?

Also, "outperformed by a third-string rookie QB (sans INTs)" .... hahaha. You're a funny guy. Yes, let's just remove the aspect of his performance that wasn't good from the stat sheet and say he did great! Also, you're forgetting that even if they both turned the ball over 0 times (and that's conceding a hell of a lot considering Yates turned it over THREE TIMES to Flacco's NONE), you've still got to consider the other aspect of the stat sheets: TWO touchdowns versus NONE.
No one here has said he never will. In fact, THAT is the most frustrating part for me. I don't think he can, I know he can.

I don't understand why people keep going back to stats as if that's going to change people's minds. I'm a stats + eyes guy too, but I understand the simple fact that a huge part of this game is perception. You can scream numbers from the highest mountain and people are not going to listen to you.

You guys keep talking like I'm saying he sucks .. he can't do it. I have never said that. Again, I KNOW he can do it. But if you want that respect from everyone else (which is what these threads seem to ALL be about) then you have to show up big and leave people remembering the big. Ask Dan Marino about that. He is arguably the greatest passing QB in the history of this game. And yet, because he never won that final game and came up short every time, he is disrespected constantly.

So, lets talk 2010. Yes, Joe had what is statistically a breakout game but when your defense sacks the opposing QB 3 times, gets 5 turnovers and holds them to 161 total yards, 8 first downs and 1 TD it is not going to be seen by the majority of people as a breakout game. He was simply overshadowed by the defense again. It may not be fair, but it is what it is.

You then follow up that game by going 16-30 for 125 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT and 1 fumble. They don't think about 3-and-19 ... they don't think about Houshmandzadeh's drop. They look straight at Joe and those numbers and the final thing they are left with is, with the game on the line and almost 2.5 mins left on the clock, he throws 3 incomplete passes and takes a sack for -8 yards and the game is over. That's all they see and remember. I can almost guarantee if Flacco had put up comporable numbers in the Divisional round of 2010 as he did in the Wild Card round we wouldn't be having this conversation right now.

I agree with you 100% man, MARK SANCHEZ, really, REALLY??? lol What a Joke, Jamie Dukes needs to actually watch the freaking games first.

And i think i one of the few that is getting sick of hearing, "OH WE NEED TO FEED RICE THE BALL", We feed him the ball in the TEXANS game, what happened, nada dam thing. And it isnt the first game where RICE is none existent. Love how the media doesnt bring up the Stealers game, the CARDS game and even the Last Texans game where Flacco lead us into the red zone over and over again. And what did we do when we got into the RED ZONE, we ran it over and over again. For neg. yards one time in the red zone. What happened in the TEXANS in the play off game, we tried to run it with no success. We score EVERYTIME we throw when in the end zone. Our 2 TDs were throwing TDs.???? I rest my case.
Exactly. I like Rice, but he's not infallible. He didn't have a good game vs. Houston despite 20+ touches. Hell, he fumbled at the goal line, though thankfully Grubbs recovered.

Honestly I think Ricky needs more carries, especially at the goal line.

Relax, they are paid to make comments, good or bad for your team. If they all picked the Ravens to win Sunday you would be saying its the best show on earth.

OMG...Every thread is the same, someone bashes the Ravens. Can we just stop with these? We get it...the media doesn't like us...and they have a pretty damn good reason not to

I've never seen a QB receive so much criticism. I think in the back of their minds, they're wondering "can he get better? What would the Ravens be like if he keeps improving?" So they convince themselves that he's done, that he's shown all he can do. I think Hines is a little intimidated by the fact that Joe ripped their hearts out this season, and he's convincing himself that it was a fluke or something.

I've given up watching NFL Network and ESPN. It's not good for my blood pressure.
Yeah I haven't watched anything but NFL draft videos for the last week (cause I'm a big draft nerd). I knew after the performance Sunday and what people said about Flacco on Monday that this would be a bad week.

Let me guess, he is basing that laughable assumption based on what the pats did to Denver? Denver is a team who's defense isn't even in the same league as ours and who's offense is a pathetic joke. The Pats haven't beaten a good team all season including in their first playoff game last week, yet WE ARE THE ONES who are going to be blown out? lol I can't believe the national sports commentators and writers get paid for their wrong predictions. These idiots said that the Ravens were going ot lose to Cinncinati and not win the AFC North remember? They also said that the Texans were going to beat the Ravens last week. They predicted the Steelers were going to beat us in week six in Pittsburg. The sports media has become a laughing pathetic joke.

Jamie Dukes is the biggest horses behind on TV. Nothing matters except what happened last week. Anyone that thinks his opinion is relivent is as uninformed as he is

Happened to have NFLN on (big mistake...I was watching the East-West Shrine game and forgot to change the channel) and Total Access was on. Jamie Dukes and Tom Waddle were doing a debate segment, and one of the questions was "Who's to blame for Baltimore's offensive woes: Flacco or Cameron?" Waddle said Cameron, and Dukes said Flacco, saying that "Cameron worked for Drew Brees, he worked for Phillip Rivers, so it must be Flacco." After the debate, Waddle said, "yeah I agree, I was debating for the sake of debating, it's definitely Flacco."

Neither Drew Brees nor Phillip Rivers were that great under Cameron. Hell, statiscally, they were basically identical to Flacco. I don't know why I let myself get bothered by these things, but these is where the botched national perception comes from.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! As if I didn't need confirmation that Jamie Dukes knows nothing! Drew Brees had some of the worst statistical seasons of his career under Cameron, then was booted out the door. I believe not only did Cam Cameron have LT to work with, but Brees one season had a QB rating of 67.

I don't mind the team getting flown out tomorrow night with the AFC title.

I saw this segment. Jamie Dukes just spews out last weeks stuff. He's a week by week critic. Stupidly annoying. I won't even acknowledge him as being an analyst. I'll be glad when he's replaced with someone else worthy of being an analyst. I know I can do the job better than him.

Just watched No Huddle and I'm heated. Jamies Dukes saying Joe is the same guy as Mark Sanchez. Hines Ward saying Ray Rice needs to have a 100 yards to win a game... saying he is a Trent Dilfer. Ray only had six games where he had over a 100 yards on the ground. So that means half the games they won.. Ray Rice running all over the defense had nothing to do with it.. seven if you count last Sunday. Saying Alex Smith proved he can get it done unlike Flacco because of one game against a bad D?

They are basing Seattle & the Jags game as reasons why if Joe throws a lot.. he can't get it done. 2 games??! One of which special teams fumbled twice & missed fields goal twice & the D could not get off the field? The Jags game was a lot like the Houston game where receivers could not get any separation to save their life & Cam made no adjustments. AM I THE ONLY ONE THAT SEES THIS?? I'll agree the biggest thing he needs to work on is pocket awareness. But they said the same thing about Eli back in his earlier years & he has gotten a lot better.

This week has not been enjoyable because of all the negative media. Obviously it only gets to you if you let it. But I feel like Joe is my child because I take it so personally lol. I just needed to rant. I really hope Joe shuts all of the haters up on Sunday and his offense actually helps him out!! And I hope Cam misses the bus to NE.
Not only did Wines Hard say Flacco was Trent Dilfer he said we needed to sign him. I love Dilfer though he was a part of the team that brought us our only ring. You're not alone I used to love no huddle but now it's just a show to bash the ravens, so im reluctant to even watch it now.

Notes

- I can't take the opinion of an undrafted fraud seriously who played on more than one team as a 1-year rental.
I'm convinced that he watched as much football as the late Ray Charles.

And...

- I'll skip that clown Bayless. Nothing needs to be said.

I pretty much stopped watching NFL network solely because of Jamie Dukes. That guy hates Flacco more than anybody. Last night they had a topic on "who to blame" in baltimore, whether it was Cameron or Flacco, and Dukes said it was pretty much ALL Flacco. I changed the channel after ~3 minutes
