I have faith in Flacco, but that doesn't mean I'm comfortable. I'm a nervous guy watching and thinking about the Ravens.

Still find it funny that Stephen A. called Flacco soft. Flacco may or may not be a lot of things, but the last thing I would call him is soft.

Yeah, Flacco's a football player. No one can take that away from him.

The same people who call Flacco soft are the same people who call Cutler soft. All idiots.

Yeah...I voted, but to be fair the other options should be offered.
Sorry if you feel there should be more options, I just kept it to a minimum of 4 or 5 options and there was no bias(or intentional bias), those are the questions that first came to find.

Flacco reminds me of a Peyton Manning for the longest time maybe not recently, a Brett Favre, he's well built enough that he can take quite a few hits and just keep on rockin

Flacco may get a lot of crap from people, but he is performing at a level we havent seen in a while. We have spent the past 4 years in the playoffs, and we have won at least one game in all of them. I dont think that criticising Joe is going to make him better. Instead, we should support him, and as his confidence grows, so will he ability.

**Sorry for posting so much back to back, but.....****

This is what I think to, we need to build this guy up, even know I'm sure he is plenty confident, you don't get to the level he's at without having confidence but the fans of Baltimore could do a better job of showing some appreciation.
Exactly, I don't see how this will help him. When literally EVERYONE is crapping on you left and right, it has to wear you down, no matter how thickskinned you are.

Even in Cam's underwhelming system, I think Joe can get it done. They've been few and far between, but the offense(specifically the passing game) has had moments when it ran smoothly.

I love Joe Flacco and anyone that has read my post know I defend him. With that said there are somethings that he needs to work on to make it to the next level. It was mostly said in that blog that was posted. He needs to work on his pocket presence and either throw the ball away or scramble forward. He also has inconsistencies with his accuracy that drives me crazy. With that said as it stands now, i believe he can take us to the Superbowl every year. But if he works on what he needs to, oh man look out. He could be a dangerous QB.

Umm. I cant vote on this, because you kind of left out a crucial vote. I say Joe can get it done regardless of the situation, and with Cam. Im no Cam fan myself, but I will say that this poll is pretty heavily biased against him.
This poll isn't even remotely fair. It's essentially saying that there's no way Flacco can win with the current set up. Add the choice, "Yes, this offense can lead the team to a Super Bowl win" and you've got a poll. Otherwise you look like some kind of trolling Steeler or Pats fan.

I thought the options were going to be: None, Little, Average, Some, Good, Pretty Good and Great.

With that being said I don't like the options I have to choose from. I feel like I am in a prison cell. My Confidence in Joe's ability to get it done is 'pretty good'. If the O-Line does its job and buys Joe time where he doesn't feel like a sitting duck the entire game, he'll get the job done.

I love how people think if you call better plays players will catch better, run better routes and catch the ball.

They can also block better, too.

Where is the:
Yes, but the offensive line needs to give him time to make a play
selection?

and apparently I did not offer enough options

Against the remaining teams in the playoffs? If his offensive line holds up and he doesn't do well, then I will be extremely concerned. Of course, that is assuming Cam doesn't go all crazy again, and give Rice 2 carries while trying to prove Flacco is Drew Brees. If this offense plays within themselves, I have all the confidence in the world in all of them.

I've never felt better about a Quarterback in Ravens history. Do I think he has to improve? Sure! I think we need to see alot more out of Joe, in terms of decisiveness, and getting the ball out quicker as at times I feel like I am watching him in slow motion. I think the best thing we can do for next season is see what he can do in a new system. He has never taken a step forward really with Cam. He has certainly improved, but not that next step. Therefore I think the best way to know what you have, in order to move forward, is to find a new OC.

I'm comfortable with Flacco. I'll still wear his jersey after a Week 9 Pittsburgh game or a Week 15 Chargers game. Like most of you said, Baltimore hasn't had the luxury of having a playoff calibur QB like Flacco. Sure we had McNair back in 2006, but that was a one and done shot (heck we made it to the AFCCG).

I like that he's Joe Cool. I'm not bothered what so ever that he comes off as emotionless at times. But he reminds you of his fight for the game with his touchdown upper cut celebration that he does.

Interestingly enough, when the games are/were the most critical, Flacco seemed to rise to the occasion this season. Pittsburgh week 1 QB rating 117.6, Cinci 105.5 and 112.7, Fricso 100.1, Houston in the playoffs 97.1. Hopefully the trend continues in New England.

I agree that the poll left some choices out. I believe that Flacco can be successful despite Cam. If anything we need a more consistent offensive line.

Personally I think Flacco is the QB who can lead a team to the Superbowl, he's a calm guy and he won't let any situation rattle him. I just think he needs to be sharper from the beginning to the end.

We are now 1 game away from the Superbowl, Reed has come out and said some thing but It's all about Cam's playcalling and whether he can adapt and make adjustments.

Chances are that the Patriots defense will key in on Ray Rice, meaning Joe Flacco will once again have to be clutch and carry this offense to victory. Key to the Game will be time of possession.

So, what do you guys think?
I've been saying all week that the key to victory is to play turnover free, dominate time of possession, and to pressure Brady.

The rookie and sophmore Flacco I wasnt comfortable with. But right now I know he wont throw stupid picks like he did when he was younger. Soooo many other teams wish they had a Flacco at QB

Scrock, I applaud your efforts wishing to get Joe more appreciation, and I totally agree with you 100%!

I think that what will help is that people like the NFL channel, ESPN, Skip Bayless, Sportscenter, 105.7 The Fan, The Baltimore Sun, etc. and I could go on and on... these are the people that need to hear from us! This website gives us plenty of stats, records. etc., plus our own observations of Flacco...this is what needs to be communicated by this fanbase to overcome all this negativity. Silence on this issue of Flacco bashing is viewed by most as us condoning the proverbial opinons of the media and our "louder constituents".

Example: Twice this season on "Inside the NFL" on Showtime, the fans of Pittsburgh (Sap calling their defense "Old and aging") and New Orleans(getting no respect for their QB and ignoring them in the media) have called that show on the carpet with a barage of comments from their fanbases and they got a response.

I myself comment whenever I feel like something is unjust directly to these sites, they all have legit comment areas, twitter accounts, etc. ...It does work, but does take a concerted effort by more than one though. Personally, I would like to see a front page add or a billboard out in support of Flacco that says something like "Joe and the Ravens just win" or some such public display of support, perhaps our own stenciling campain? lol Something!!! But, I definately think that it would go along way to boosting his confidence before the big game and that for the whole team as well! imho...anyway I will keep trying to as much as I can for what it counts!

Go Ravens!!!

I'm willing to bet that if you were to look at the Saints forums before they won the Super Bowl in 2009 that there were many threads like this about Drew Brees.

Doubt that since he has a QB rating of 89 or higher since his 4th year

94, 76,67. Definitely had a sophomore slump and a junior slump but in his 4th year he broke away.

Who knows, but he produced and thats all that mattered as far as the fan base was concerned and the staff was concerned.

Joe Flacco Line from @ New England last year

27 of 35 77.1% 285yds 2TD 0INT 119.3 QB Rating

I think Joe is going to do great, if the OL plays better and they should because they were horrible last week
